The Blitz Blade is a very unique blade bait. It is made from 100% light zinc alloy! Why is this important? Zinc is lighter than lead in the same form factor which allows the lure to fall more realistic than a traditional lead blade bait. One of the unique characteristics of the Blitz Blade are the offsetting fins on each side of the head. These offsetting fins allow the lure to spiral down when the lure sinks after a cast or drop for vertical jigging. This motion mimics a dying bait fish. Zinc is also safer on the environment than the traditional lead blade baits that are sold in the market today.

Jerry Anderson : A Big Jig For Big Fish

This is one big Sonar when compared to Heddon 1/2oz & 1/4oz Sonar's, but it does the job and good for going after big Bass, Walleye & Pike or other large species. Has the same three hole set up as Heddon Sonar plus an underside hole for attaching a spinner or stinger hook. Paint job is nice and comes with some really big treble hooks on split rings. I removed the hooks and installed trebles a couple sizes smaller to suit my needs. You need a rod with some backbone to work this jig properly or you will have performance problems.

I like the standard 1/4 oz blade baits for vertical jigging, but finding a heavier, larger profile lure is a nice bonus. Of course you need the right rod to work the larger sizes, but they work as they are supposed to, the action is good and you can feel the lure working which is all you need.
I have 1/4 oz through 1.5 oz. lures to cover a nice range of target species and depths.
