should high speed weights for wahoo be painted?

Answer: I see no reason to paint a trolling weight 20 ft or more from the lure, other than for perhaps some corrosion resistance. Thanks

I see below “it is rigged”. What is it rigged with?

Answer: not rigged but it works 75 pound wahoo

Answer: It did not come rigged. Just the head and skirt was together. You would need to rig your own hooks and leader.

Answer: multistrand cable, dual inline hooks. It is decent rigging. We used them right out of the packaging.

Are they rigged?

Answer: Yes they are.

Todd : Low quality and with production issues

I'm increasingly disappointed with MagBay lures and this latest order pretty much does them in for me.

I fish for Wahoo, live it and go through lures.... plenty. I like subsurface lures, and an aggressive troll so I tried a number of MagBay products, always pulled in by their price point... Problem is the quality of their products is lower than the price.

As most offshore anglers know, you are gonna tweak, massage and repair lures - especially after reasonable use and of this size because the pelagics that hit them are also big and heavy. So I tend to be ok with some amount of "work" on a low price point lure...

But this lure has serious flaws and machining deficits... And is going to cost you money.

Mine showed up with metal milling shards inside the bore - just shoddy production work and absolutely no care for production standards or true function. The shards are so significant and still attached to the through hole that there is little doubt that used as-is will eventually cut it severely weaken the rigging and everything that keeps this lure attached.

The aluminum skirt retention threaded collar is also poorly machined and a sloppy fit.

In my case, I'll take the time to fix these issues because I have machining equipment to do it, but I won't take the time to purchase any more Mag Bay products. As I mentioned this isn't the first quality issue I've run into with them.

Oh, and yes, I have contacted them on previous purchases and the response I got was not satisfactory as well.

Like most anglers running this type of bait, I know the old adage most lures and designs are intended to catch fisherman... Mag Bay is pretty much relying on it...

We'll, this is my last MagBay lure or honestly any MagBay product...
