"Bend the lure for shallow water action . . ." Does this mean that the fisherman physically bends the lure? And what purpose does that serve?

Answer: Yes, you can put a bend in the SteelShad blade bait back close to the tail of the lure and it allows the lure to swim right or left depending on which way you bend the lure. This allows the lure to swim left or right under docks or limbs or other cover. The lure also runs shallow this way and you can fish it over the top of grass. Robert D : Caught My First Bass

I have hundreds of dollars in lures. I've been trying to catch a bass on artificial because I never have. I've caught Snook and Trout but I've never been a freshwater guy. It's much slower and very difficult for me. I've tried MANY lures to catch a bass. I failed for 6 days straight. Had a few hits on poppers and whopper plopper but never landed anything. I was out of options so I put my little $3 SteelShad on there (with a slight bend in it to make it swim crazy) and within 7 or 8 minutes, I finally caught one. He was very small but I'm still satisfied. These things work immensely well. Especially with a slight bend in them because it makes them look exactly like a severely injured baitfish.

If I could have invented a lure for certain bodies of water, this would be it. Very first cast with one of these and no more did I get the rod in the holder and had a fish on.. nice rainbow. These lures have been very successful just in my first attempt, landed multiple rainbows, a bass and a couple brown. Lure dives around 13 to 14 feet, depending on line out and speed (I have been trolling about 1.8mph). I have found this to be a good depth, some lures simply cant get deep enough. You can cast this thing a mile. Lure has a great action at all speeds, and pulls hard. I will be trying this on lake trout shortly and will update asap. And casting is a breeze, it flies nicely through the air, and plunges deep into the water, almost instantly reaching its depth. Try and stay in at least 18 feet of water, deeper is better, it will reduce your chances of grabbing bottom (as I did, and lost a lure already), but try it yourself. I will certainly be getting more of these for when I guide Wounded Veterans for big lakers and rainbows. Definitely grab some, you don't have anything to loose.

These lures have stickers that peel off, I used them 2 times and now are falling apart. there are better out there. To boot, there isn't a return tab on amazon for these.

Finish looks good. Will be a decent blade bait when I change these dull hooks out. They advertise them to be VMC or something else but this is foreign made, probably just cheap wire hooks. Compare to a spro bait or ratltrap that hooks you coming out of the box. Will fish soon and update, after changing the hooks. The color and shape should work well to fish similar to a spoon or even crank it.

We have times here in E. TN where the white bass, hybrids, and Stripers boil the water in a feeding frenzy. The Steel Shad shines in these situations. You can through it a seriously long way due to the front loaded wait so you don't spook the fish, once in the water you can fish it at any depth, and the flash attracts fish like crazy. As the lure goes through the school you can feel it being repeatedly hit..even after a fish is on, the other fish continue to hit it.
