andrew : Shooter friendly, not tough enough for serious bowfishing

Absolutely loved it, could never remember to push the buttons on other reals. I use an rpm bow, love it to death. Unfortunately two of these reals one fairly new and one brand new broke on the same day of a tournament. Would absolutely buy again if they redesign their gears. Both were the same issue, had to hand line my shots after the second one broke

After 4 trip so far it is far easier to use than my old zebco 808. It has pretty fast retrieval and like I said ease of use.

But time will tell.

First thing I will say is save your money and go with something else. (I would personally recommend AMS)

I have purchased 2 of these reels at this point, and both of them broke the first day of owning. I love the way these are set up with the pull handle that can be easily accessed with your hand holding the bow, but they REALLY need to work on their build quality. The first one I had the retaining clip and nut holding the handle to the reel came off after only a couple hours of use, unfortunately when those came loose they fell off, bounced off the shooting platform on the boat and ended up in the lake. While I assumed this was probably a fluke, I bought another the following season, because I liked the way this one worked. The handle on the second one worked just fine, but by 5 hours into the bowfishing tournament the gears inside had completed shelled out. I took it apart to see what was going on and 2 of the gears were nearly rubbed smooth of their teeth, and there was a pile of metal shavings in the housing.

While the design and ergonomics of this product are great, and from that standpoint I like it better than any other on the market, I need a product that isn't going to break the first time it is used. I am really disappointed in RPM, because I own one of their Nitro bows and the thing works great. Hopefully they can get these quality issues figured out because it has the potential to be the best on the market.
