Answer: I use this jig primarily for lingcod. I put a stinger hook on the eyelet at the base of the head , underneath the tentacles. I removed the hook it came with (my preference) because it has a tendency to snag on the rocky reefs. If your looking for some big lingcod this jig will put them on the boat.

Answer: This is rubber- fake octopus - no feathers. it has a hook. Hasn't worked for me yet. Have only used it once

Answer: The 23g item has treble hooks. 180g and 280g items are not available, but the buckle at the bottom can add treble hooks.

Answer: I purchased a single color (root beer/brown) I guess it was a one time deal? They told me any future requests for single color orders would have a $25.00 handling charge, I DON’T THINK SO.

Does this come with a hook in it?

Answer: The bait has a Jig Head, and the bottom of the bait has a buckle for adding an umbrella hook.

Answer: Yes. You are able to replace the hook with a larger hook size and stronger split ring.

Answer: Yes it does but I don’t use it. It’s in the side if the head between the eyes and the top(a jay hook). I put my own hook at the base of the head , there is an eyelet there to attach a stinger hook setup. I then cut the other hook off , it’s just a snag magnet especially if your fishing reefs for the big lines like I do. I use the 9+oz. for the big lings,it’s killer.

Answer: Hello, It can work in fresh water. However, you need to consider the octopus is not a freshwater fish. You want to catch fish will hunt it? Thank you very much.

Answer: Am sure it can but jigging is da best way to fish this lure.

Answer: Doubt it in freshwater unless your using it on freshwater lingcod????, Saltwater Lingcod slayer. Tried and tested.

Answer: It’s weighted from the head , but as to what kind of materials being used , ? My guess would be lead being it’s used in saltwater applications also.

I have a drawer I keep fishing stuff in. I recently bought a brand new rig bag. Tags still on! I had their lure out because it is too large to rig up and put in bag so I laid it on my new bag to sort on later. Later comes and I find their lure had leached a bunch of dye out of the bag’s surface and into the lure. It is obviously reactive! I’d assume other lures they produce are similar. I’m not sure what the substance is that is doing this but you may not want to hold it in your hands or eat fish you caught with it. Customer service refused responsibility and gives no instruction on storage suggesting I should have known this about soft plastic. Do you all know this??

This worked really good for me, I caught a lot of lingcod but the only thing is mine didn't have much of a barb it was more like alittle shaving and my could have been biggest ling shook the hook out and lost it. I will be buying more in a week or so. So I'm hoping these next couple will have better of barbs! Great product!

They were a lot bigger than what I expected. They have real good weight to them and they look almost lifelike in the water. I like the fact that at the "beak" of the octopus, you can attach another hook with a snap leader and add 1/2 of a sardine to entice the fish even more. I don't like the fact that I haven't been able to catch any fish, but I've only used them once and got sea sick. Will update review when I catch something.

Great life like soft bait! Here’s my critiques, the hook provided is very very under sized, barely sticks out from the profile of the lure. The under size hook is even more “under sized” in the larger version of this lure. I ended up clipping off the provided hook and using a halibut wire mooching rig (9/0-10/0 hooks) and attaching it to the provided bottom ring .....now we’re talking! The fish this large lure would attract have large mouths so this is the set power we’re looking for! My other critique is the cosmetic eyes come off very easily. I’m using paint on the eyes, the stiff button eyes won’t stick with any glue due to the soft rubbery nature of the body. Other than that, love the look of this soft bait. I’m using it for ling cod and halibut, our season opens in a couple weeks so we will see how the fish like it. I give it three stars due to the amount of alterations I had to apply to the lure.
