product description
The POINTER has been designed with a very low center of gravity through the use of special brass weights. The low center of balance causes the lure to wobble and vibrate whenever the retrieving motion is stopped. The POINTER will suspend 4 -5 feet deep and will emit an intriguing bass-calling vibration, while in the suspended state. A short twitch of the fishing rod will generate the "Walk the Dog" action under the water.

Questions about Lucky Craft Pointer 78 Jerkbait
Q:
Does it come with the trever hooks ?
Answer: If u ment trebel hooks then yes it does.
Answer: If u ment trebel hooks then yes it does.
Q:
Is this for salt water too?
Answer: This model is for fresh water, but you can use it for salt water. If you want to use it for salt water, please change the hooks.
Answer: Yes depending on location of fishing and related size of lure etc. My family has fished them salt and fresh for decades... Really fine quality lures
Answer: Yes, no problem saltwater. These lures are great, I use them for all kinds of inshore and surfishing. One tip: if you're targeting fish larger than 5 or 6 pounds, change out the hooks and rings. I catch lots of bigger Jack's and Roosters, as I live part time in southern Mexico, and stronger hooks and rings really helpful. Not bigger hooks, just stronger. Good luck!
Answer: It’s made for freshwater, but you could probably use it in saltwater but your hooks may rust.
Q:
Do you fish the lure with a a swivel and if so which would you suggest?
Answer: I use a snap so I can change lures quickly but not a swivel which can affect the action of the lure. By the way, the pointer is my go to lure. Fish it as a jerk bait or just a straight retrieve crank bait at varying speeds.
Answer: I do. It was just a common small brass colored one. The lure was phenomenal for bass. We fished in the lakes region in Maine.
Answer: I just use a snap.
Answer: ofcourse you can, but the swimming action will change that'll cause your jerkbait to dig sideways/go up. To prevent this, remove the split ring at the nose which will also not allow you to tie directly any more as your line will be cut by the lip of the lure.
Answer: absolutely no swivel, best to tie directly to the spilt ring . these suspend, so NO weight on the line. they work great !

Product reviews of Lucky Craft Pointer 78 Jerkbait
DanTheFireman : These lures have great action and catch a lot of fish
These lures have great action and catch a lot of fish, beautiful surface finishes although not as durable as the molded in type. I put a strip of the wife's clear nail hardener on the undersides at the hook tip rub points. My only real complaint is the oval snap ring that comes on the line attachment eye, it's little more than a bent staple - ditch it. I lost my first Pointer when it straightened.
Amazon Customer : Great Lure
Loved Lucky Craft. Well made, great swim action catches fish. Bought a dozen more. Worth the price.
chucrhudy : the hooks

Lee from PA : Good addition to your tackle box
First the cons. The price is much too high for what it is. Also the hooks could be more durable. They break under heavy use. Pros. These lures catch fish when others dont. The flash and erratic movement attracts fish like no other.
Miguel : The best
The best jerkbait for largemouth and smallmouth
