BiCO Original Jig 3/8 oz 5/0 Owner hook Lead-Free Exceptionally weedless Made in USA Perfected in the early 90's, the BiCO Original Jig was designed to be a versatile bass jig, ideal for targeting shallow cover, skipping under trees and docks, or being fished as a swim jig.	Owner Hooks All BiCO Jigs are made with Owner hooks because of their needle-sharp points that never need sharpening. Owner hooks are engineered for better penetration, resulting in effortless hooksets. Conventional hooks encounter more resistance the deeper they penetrate. As Owner hooks penetrate, the resistance actually decreases as they cut their way through for an instant, positive hookset.	BiCO Battle Craw You'll notice there is no trailer keeper on this jig. That's because the sharp-angle bend on the hook keeps the trailer in place. We designed a craw trailer that is perfectly tailored for the BiCO Original Jig, the BiCO Battle Craw. It has a crosshair stamped on the back that marks where the hook point should exit. This will allow for a perfect rig that will keep the trailer locked in place.

Answer: It's really a matter of opinion and based on fishing conditions like water clarity, but in general black & blue is a very popular color for a jig. It's our best selling color by far.

What reeling style should i use for this lure?

Answer: I utilized a 6:2:1 ratio reel with a MH moderate fast reel/rod set-up with 30lb braid and have caught several nice smallies and largemouth on the jig out of flowing, river water. Tossing it around pile-ups and into deep holes. The water is generally dirty when I've used the black/blue color but I've also had success when the water is running clearer. I've had more success using a craw style jig trailer but also caught fish (and had bites and lost some) with just the jig itself.

Answer: Cast let sink to bottom lower rod tip raise rod tip retrieve at medium to slow pace repeat. Jig is made for grassy or sandy bottoms. Wouldn’t try this technique in structure covered bottoms.

Do you need to use a sinker with these?

Answer: No, the loop where you tie your not on this lure is the weight. No extra sinker needed. They have a few different styles and weights that you can choose from. Just need a good rod and line, decent reel, and hold on tight! Some of the BEST made jigs on the market!!

Answer: No you don't but if you want to reach a certain depth quickly a sinker would help

Answer: No. These are known as lead head jigs. The whole base is lead painted black. But the way it is designed the base will hit the bottom and the hook will stand up.

My wife bought myself and my brother-in-law each one of these jigs and they turned out to be incredible. She knows we are avid bass fishermen and more specifically jig fishermen, She randomly took a chance on an advertisement she saw. You can see the quality right out of the package. The first time I fished it I was skipping it under docks. I have never used a jigs that skips this well. It is also the most snag-proof jig I have ever fished. After one day of fishing this bait I ordered more.

I dressed the hook with a split tail grub and fished it during my club tournament on Lake Lanier. This jig caught fish and was a critical element of our win. Our winning pattern was red clay bank bluffs with wood and rock. I only had two jigs but after the first two fish, I had to hand over the other one to my partner. You won't be disappointed with this jig.

The jig fishes well in cover. It will punch through easily and I have few snags. So far no fish but blaming the lure would be like blaming the golf club for a bad shot.
I will keep at it because has the action I want for cover.

I can't praise Bico's customer service enough. The owner Bill went out of his way to contact me regarding a shipping issue which he had no fault in, (Amazon fulfilled the order). He truly does care about his product and customers.
That being said, the jig is one of the best if not the best quality jig out there. Extremely well made.
This jig has one of the best weed guards I've seen on a jig.
If you're looking for a top-notch jig to nail those monster bass, look no further.

I would love to give this five stars but it’s not gonna happen. Jig head design and paint are excellent. The owner hook on the other hand bent out on me three separate times while bed fishing. Not on giants either biggest one of the day was around 6lbs. I'm sure it’s not on BiCo they might have just got a bad bath of hooks or maybe just mine.

Looks and feels like a great jig but be aware this item is NOT eligible for return. Something I've never encountered on Amazon before. I needed to return an open package of hooks and clicked the jig I'd bought by mistake and was informed I couldn't return it. If you somehow receive a damaged item you're just SOL I guess. That being said, it is a great jig, I can't wait to fish it, and if it performs like it looks I'll be buying more.

These jigs flat out catch fish. I have fished many different jigs over the years, and this jig is my favorite. It stands on its head creating a tantalizing presentation w a craw, or creature bait that seems to be irresistible to predatory trophy fish. The hook, first off is Owner which speaks for itself, but it's angled hook holder design not only keeps your baits pinned, but your fish pinned too. Last but not least it's lead free. These Jigs were designed by serious anglers, for serious anglers. You will not be disappointed.

I didn't receive a black one, though that was what I wanted. I got a blue, green purple. With that being said. I paired it with a 3" havock baby pit boss in purple as well. I used it last night and it was very weedless and sliding it up under a pontoon I about got the rod jerked out of my hands by a nice 1.75lb large mouth. No giant but upon inspection, there was a craw already in his throat. Either he couldn't have been too full, or this is a pretty special jig. I'm going to order a couple more eventually, maybe I'll get that black one.

L : A nice jig for casting or light pitching.

This jig is of pretty good quality. The jig served me well for my purposes, which was for light pitching and casting it.

The jig durability seems fine enough, however, I was not placing around docks, rocks, or stumps. The weed guard did not need to be trimmed in my opinion. The jig came out of brush and weeds well enough. The hookup ratio is about four out of five bites for me, pitching.

The jigs do not have much of a trailer retainer, however, the plastic crawfish I put on held on well after hours of pitching and a few good bass. I have already bought more of these jigs, especially for the black color.
