Questions about Maxpedition Cap Compact Admin Pouch
Q:
Can someone post some pictures of the inside? Possibly along with a review explaining how it’s laid out.
Answer: Maxpedition web site has good pictures of inside and outside from all angles.
Q:
Has anyone thrown a j frame into this puppy yet?
Answer: No
Q:
Is this waterproof?
Answer: No. Not waterproof, water resistant. If you submerge it, whatever is inside is getting wet.
Q:
Is the front design (squares) useful for something ? Or just for "the looks" ?
Answer: The squares are access for Molle connection either to something larger or to attach something externally. The squares proper are just access to feed through straps for attachment.
Answer: The front is 2 wide x 3 tall of molle webbing. You can attach another small pouch or item to it. The black squares are the fabric underneath showing through.
Answer: Both, I use this as a LEO and use the front squares that your referring to keeps pens
Q:
What material are the d-rings? Would it be best to buy a shoulder strap with metal or plastic clips/hooks to go with this pouch?
Answer: The D-rings are made of plastic. Recommend plastic hardware on a shoulder strap for this pouch.
Answer: Plastic..and plastic.
Answer: They are a polymer or plastic. I have a 1" wide shoulder strap with plastic hooks for mine. Works great!
Answer: The D rings are plastic
Q:
Anybody tried attaching the cap to the veldspar? if so, how did it workout?
Q:
Brite green bags
Q:
Would laptop power supply fit with cords?
Answer: This truly depends on the size of your power supply. The main compartment will fit something about 1" thick (and 3.5" wide x 5" tall) with no problem. If the cord (with prongs) can be folded (like many PC laptop power supplies), it should fit fine. A Mac Powerbook brick will fit no problem, however I do not believe the longer AC extension would fit (due to the cable's thickness which makes it hard to wrap in tight figure eight.)
Answer: It depends on the size of your power supply. We were able to fit a 4 inch long power brick and cord in the CAP pouch without a problem, however, some of the larger bricks might not fit.
Answer: Not unless it's a small power supply. The brick I have for mine certainly doesn't fit.
Product reviews of Maxpedition Cap Compact Admin Pouch
Pedro Cano : Perfecta!!
boris : Top quality
Amazing
mattpearson : The best EDC pouch you will ever own...
I was already a big fan of Maxpedition pouches. From what they now call the 'legacy range', I have a couple of the larger beefy ones to keep stuff together in my vehicle and an EDC one in black which I have used for years and has kept all of my essentials in one place. Two reasons for this, firstly because they are easy to get to and you know where they are, and secondly because you can move them from bag a to bag b, in seconds, rather than having to unpack and repack bags. The legacy series are great, tough and almost indestructible and with great water proofing. Inside organisation works really well with elastic loops and pockets to get your stuff under control.
But I decided to upgrade to the CAP as this is part of the Maxpedition AGR (advanced gear range) and I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about. I didn't honestly think that Maxpedition could make anything but very small improvements to their existing pouches, but I was very wrong about that. The CAP is streets ahead of its older version in so many ways. Let's look at my top 2.
1: Organisation.
The CAP has two compartments, so two sets of dual zippers. The pouch does not open fully in clamshell style as the original does, but the two compartments immediately gives you even more options for organisation. I didn't think I would need two compartments on my EDC pouch until I had them, and now I am a convert. In terms of space, I am not sure how Maxpedition did it, but all of the stuff from my legacy pouch went into the CAP and then there was room to spare. Given they are almost identical in height and width, and the depth of the full CAP was the same as the legacy one (I measured it), I was not sure how this was possible. But it fits more stuff and than it a big bonus. My current kit is shown in the photos above (minus a few items like a torch which is on charge) and you can see that the pouch seems about half empty. Maxpedition are using a new light coloured fabric inside which genuinely does make it easier to see your stuff, particularly in low light situations.
2: Looks
The looks of the original EDC pouch were functional. I never really worried about aesthetics and function trumps fancy design any day. But the new CAP looks sleeker and just more polished than the old one. The use of two new materials on the CAP does it with the 500d ripstop nylon giving it a nice sleek look and the ATLAS system (a laser cut PALS system) on the front of the bag looking great too. Here is where Maxpedition have tweaked their original design and made some excellent improvements. The old pouches had a very shallow mesh pocket on the front, maybe enough to keep a pack of tissues or a cloth, but not much else. Then there was a square of velcro for a morale patch. Both of these were not that useful to be honest, so the sleek look of the ATLAS system won me over. I didn't plan on using the PALS to attach anything on the outside of the pouch, although I can see that I might attach two pouches together and then pass a strap through the D rings (another new addition) to make a small carrying pack. The CAP comes with the maxpedition tacties included which is an excellent move on their part as you have everything you need to attach it to another bag. The zip pulls are now moulded plastic rather than paracord loops, and that is also a great addition as your finger just fits in really easily. The zips are YKK and get smoother with use (they are stiff to start with) and are very strong so you can apply force to open the bag if you are in a hurry without fear of breaking them.
This is not a cheap pouch, I think Maxpedition make the most expensive stuff in this 'edc pouch' category, but the cost is well worth it. If you are going to put stuff in this you use everyday then the ease of use and the time you will save not looking for 'lost' stuff will justify the cost. The other thing is that this will last and last and last, so you only have to buy it once and it is not going to let you down. Maxpedition build quality is the best and the price reflects it.
Nunya : Really disappointed
Maxpedition quality control should have really picked up on this before it even reached a retailer. Missed nearly an inch of stitching on the seam.
I'm finding myself needing to carry more stuff daily as I get older, so decided to get myself a man bag. Splashed out on one of these as it looks cool, and Maxpeditions reputation for quality is second to none. Not in this case.
Sadly it's easier for me to have this repaired than go through the hassle of returning it.
I'd have been a very happy customer, the bag is just what I needed, but I feel I have a factory second at full price.
Shun Jing Wong : Awesome little bag.
Fit a bunch of my EDC stuff + Battery charger for the Nitecore flashlight. Still room for more. Strong sturdy materials. Great product.

Shuo-Ping Hsu : Great pouch for organization
This is a review after many years of carrying this daily in a bag. TL;DR: The pouch is extremely durable for office EDC and first aid kits. The pull tabs are second to none. Great quality pouch. None of the seams have worn down, and the surface is good at hiding wear.
Shun Jing Wong : Awesome little bag.
Fit a bunch of my EDC stuff + Battery charger for the Nitecore flashlight. Still room for more. Strong sturdy materials. Great product.
Francisco Faria : Great pouch!
Very usefull to take my camera acessories.
Tony C : Robust and well made.
Really like the Maxpedition series. Have several and they are durable and well made. Holding up really well in daily use. Only complaint is the zippers are not very smooth and cannot be opened or closed with one hand like some other bags I have used.
MarshChristopher : Amazing like my colossus
Amazing like my colossus. However when purchasing, do not forget to buy a shoulder strap. As it is not included
John : I was worried the molle on the front panel would be weak or of poor quality but was much stronger than anticipated
Very well built. I use this as an AEMT supply kit in my bunker pants. I was worried the molle on the front panel would be weak or of poor quality but was much stronger than anticipated.
Andrew : Good gear
I have a lot of this company gear and the ARG serous is very good. I’m not sure what I’m going to use this for but I’m going to this about it. My be YouTube can help.
Moki : Unassumingly spacious
I knew beforehand of the creed behind Maxpedition gear. Buy once cry once. Build and functionality is always top notch and this is no exception to that. I use this pouch as a impromptu toolkit when going to other people’s houses or even around the house as I essentially have all the functionality of my bigger toolbag in a deceivingly small pouch.
It currently holds: Klein shears, tape measure, bits and sockets, vise grip, Knipex Cobra pliers, wire strippers, screwdriver, ratchet and bit extender, magnetic pickup tool, and a hex and allen folding key set with room to spare.
Francisco Faria : Great pouch!
Very usefull to take my camera acessories.
Scott S : Maxpedition quality! There is no substitute!
Maxpedition quality! There is no substitute!
boatersteve : Great Quality Design Lacking
This product is built like a tank as you expect from Maxpedition, however the design of this pouch was not what I thought. The pouch shows two compartments with the first one opening completely to lie flat, mine did not allow that. Additionally the photos show a huge amount of gear going into the bags, what they don't show is whether the bag will close and zip. I wanted this pouch for EDC use but I found I have to put a lot less in the pouch than I wanted. Did not meet my expectations of Maspedition products, I am returning.
Ulises : Calidad
Excelente producto, la calidad que tiene en la construcción y materiales se ve que las hacen para aguantar.
magil : zipper blown on delivery
Going back to amazon. Zipper blown on delivery - it will not close / self-heal. I don't think the quality of this new line from Maxpedition is anywhere close to the "legacy" line they still make. Folks, there is a reason it's called "legacy" - it's because it works and this high-tech, lightweight new AGR line doesn't.
R.Doyle : Just what I needed.
Just what I needed, Maxpedition always makes quality gear.
MarshChristopher : Amazing like my colossus
Amazing like my colossus. However when purchasing, do not forget to buy a shoulder strap. As it is not included
Mykgo200 : Compact Molle!
Another great product from Maxpedition, It is my 3rd Maxpedition pouch and I love these product.
Donovan Halstead : Too many straps and not enough space.
I have a bunch of Maxpedition pouches and have the same problem with all of them. There are so many straps and stuff inside that it eats into the usable space. The straps are always perpendicular to each other on opposite sides which causes all kinds of issues with things crossing over and wasting space. I had hoped since this pouch had the straps going the same direction, it would be a little less of a problem. It was, but I found that this thing just wasn’t deep enough. It only really holds enough that it could easily go into a simple dopp and carry more and still be easy to find. I had to send this one back.
Carlos M : Tough pouch
Very nice and compact design. Robust as usual Maxpedition products. Highly recommended.
Francisco Faria : Great pouch!
Very usefull to take my camera acessories.
Richard Seligson : eh
does not open wide enough.
Antonio R : Excelente calidad
Me encanto
c0c0timb0 : Maxpedition è una garanzia.
Ottimo in tutto.
Amazon Customer : Cost cutting?
Pros:
1. Nice design
2. Enough space as an EDC
Cons:
1. Horrible elastic bands inside (hardly elastic at all)
2. Some zippers difficult to pull
QC on the older Max stuff seems much better where almost every product was quality and worth the price.
Not too impressed with the new AGR range.

frht : a perfect pouch
good quality, solid, useful. very fast shipment ???????? I would recommend it to everyone.
Seth K. : Great pouch.
Great pouch. Much improved from their original line of pouches. There definitely is a break-in time, as with all Maxpedition gear, but once it's broken in, it's great. I'm upgrading from the Fatty organizer, and one of the improvements is that the pals/molle webbing is now 5 units tall. With the Fatty's 3 unit tall webbing, it was flopping over quite a bit from my backpack. With the 5 units tall webbing, it's very secure against the backpack, and feels like an integral part.
I use mine to carry pens and "office supplies", and it's great for that purpose. The fact that all the loops are oriented vertically allows me to carry lots of longer items. Also, the variety of loop sizes is a plus.
Zack Mace : Super durable. Expensive but worth it. 100%
Durable, spacious and compact. It's wonderful. Would totally recommend.
Mykgo200 : Compact Molle!
Another great product from Maxpedition, It is my 3rd Maxpedition pouch and I love these product.
Joshua : Excellent
Great pouch!! Perfect size to hold numerous items. Great product and very durable
Erich Swoboda : Great product that they stand behind
I like that my replacement came this time with the Mollie straps. The defective one had missing straps that i could never get sent to me.
R.Doyle : Just what I needed.
Just what I needed, Maxpedition always makes quality gear.
TechMan : It's Maxpedition.....Nuff said
It's Maxpedition! They know how to make these kinds of things. Do yourself a favor, and check it out!!!

I have attached it to my backpack for everyday carry items. Have been using it for several months and it is holding up fantastic.
