I seen this and thought it was interesting. But I don't know what this is for can you explain it to me. Is it for a machine or for help ceiling bags?

Answer: The tape is for vacuum sealing machines such as those manufactured by Foodsaver (see www.foodsaver.com). The tape is applied to the sealing machine, over the heater strip. This provides a smooth surface that will not stick to the bag being sealed. The original tape eventually gets wrinkles from repeated use, making it difficult to seal the bags well. Assuming everything else functions on the machine, replacing the teflon tape will restore your machine to perform like new.

Is this tape good to use on a commercial sealer of shrink wrap machine ? What is the maximum temperature it takes ?

Answer: I use mine on a commercial sealer and the tape is holding up well. Much better than the OEM tape I bought previously. I don't know max temp. but it is not turning dark and falling apart like the original tape.

Answer: I do not know if this tape can be used for commercial sealer. However we bought this tape to replace it on our Food Sealer machine. We use the heavy plastic bags that are designed for tis Food Saver and the fusion is very tight.

Answer: I did not get any information with the tape, but it is heavy duty and quite thick. It works well on my vacuum sealer.

How do I remove old tape

Answer: The tape shouldn't be hard to peel off. Use a plastic knife to start it or something that won't scratch. I used cigarette lighter fluid to remove the glue residue.

Answer: No problem just pull it off, make sure when you install ty new tape leave enough to cover the end of the new tape about 1/2 inch on each end to cover the end.

Answer: Carefully peel it off backwards. Cut the new strip to ensure that the ends fold down to the sides just a little bit. Once done take your finger and run it across the tape to ensure it’s seated right.

Answer: I used an xacto knife and peeled it up, then applied a cotton-ball wet with lighter fluid to remove sticky residue.

Great product; in fact, I think it's actually better than the original strip that comes with the vacuum sealer. I almost bought a 3 pack of 18" strips for the same price, but then I saw this 30' roll and am very glad I got this. I'm sure I'll never go through the whole thing, but it's nice to know I pretty much have an unlimited supply.

It was very easy to apply, and sticky enough that I'm confident it'll hold for plenty of time, if not indefinitely. The quality of the bag seals seems to be every bit a good as the original.

I just applied it a couple days before writing this review (12-30-2017). If and when it needs to be replaced, or I have any issues with it, I will update this review.

Nancy & Greg : If your Vacuum Sealer does not seal well, don't replace the machine, buy this teflon tape.

My mother uses her Foodsaver so often the tape wore away in spots and it sealed erratically. Since she is an "ahem" older person, of the generation that fixes things instead of throws them away, she called Foodsaver about fixing it. They said it could not be repaired. I found this tape and risked $10. to try it for her. All I had to do was remove the old tape and all tape residue. UNPLUG IT FIRST!. ;) Then I laid the tape down over the wire and Tada!, her Foodsaver works like new! The roll contains enough to probably fix many Foodsavers. The tape is a little wider that the original tape I removed but fit well and does not change the way the Foodsaver works.

Worked for me. I have a food saver vaccum packer that is approximately 10 years old. The original teflon tape covering the heating element developed a crimp that prevented bags from sealing. Used this tape to replace the original and it seems to have fixed the problem.

We have a vacuum sealer. The tape was coming off. We bought replacement that was supposed to be specifically made for this model. It only stayed on a few minutes and did not work. Bought this tape and it seems to fit well when cut. Unfortunately, we cannot get the vacuum sealer to seal. Don't know if it's the tape or the rubber, which we also replace.

So I was shopping for a new FoodSaver to replace the $5 FoodSaver 1050 (original model) that I got at the thrift store, as it (surprise) didn't really work right.
In my searching I came across this PTFE tape for $10, read the description, looked at the tape on mine (yellow, stained, kinda gross) and thought 'Hmmmmm'...
$10 and 2 days later my (now $15) FoodSaver is working like new, saving me $60 over getting a new one, AND I was able to put new tape on my neighbours and it's 'like new' now too!
Plenty of tape left to fix more or keep this one going forever & easily trimmed to the right width with a hobby knife after installing.

The product itself was applied to a FoodSaver vacuum sealer and is performing as expected; good replacement part/tape. The gaskets appear to have lost their seal, so you may consider ordering those along with this tape if servicing a FoodSaver of your own.

I have an older Food Saver (V3835) and I have used it a lot with five kids! The heating tape started to have gaps where it wouldn’t seal. I’d seal the bags over and over and turning them. Finally I decided to get a new Food Saver. But I looked up this tape and my husband installed it. I think he might’ve looked at a You Tube. My Food Saver works good as new! I think you need to be careful cleaning the surface before reinstalling the tape and make sure you have even pressure to get all the bubbles out. But do get this tape if you’re having sealing issues. It’s well worth the price!

Easy fix for loose Teflon tape on your seal a meal vacuum sealer! Unplug unit. Gently remove old loose tape. Clean heating strip area with rubbing alcohol and slick paper. Allow to dry. Cut new piece of tape from the roll as long as old tape. Apply new tape over heating strip, you may need to trim the tape a bit to insert into slots on either end. Never clean heat strip area with wet cloth as that causes tape to loosen.

We have an older Foodsaver Model (15 yrs old, at least) and the Teflon Tape gave out. We ordered the PTFE Tape from Amazon. Once we received it we replaced the worn out one. It was easy to replace, it was the correct size we needed and works perfectly! We recommend this product.

When the PTFE band snapped on my continous band sealer, I went in search of a fix. The manufacture's repair kit was a whopping $150. So I turned to Amazon and got this for cheap. Measured it out, stuck the two adhesive sides together and voilá! Worked like a charm and had my business back up and running in no time.

I had already looked through the replacements parts and couldn't find anything to fix my foodsaver. I noticed the teflon tape was peeling up on the heating element. I hit up foodsaver and told them what was going on and they told me the machine was toast and there were no replacement parts. They didn't sell anything. I said "so, my great machine is now junk?". There reply was that they apologize but it was done and to buy a new one. So, after verifying it was the tape, I simply googled it, right to Amazon and ordered this stuff. Took all of 1 minutes to do the complete fix and the machine is as good as new. And there is so much of it that I can replace it every 6 months and I won't run out.
