SHAD SURROUNDING THE MAXX LIGHT
The special green led light cuts through the dark water of night, and within minutes microscopic creatures called zoo-plankton begin to home in on the green light source, very much the way insects are drawn to outdoor lighting. Small fish soon follow, attracted by the zoo-plankton.
CRAPPIE COMING TO THE MAXX
Each link in the food chain is followed by the next, over minutes and hours. Soon shad and other bait fish will surround the light, which brings in the crappie and other predatory fish
NEW AND IMPROVED
We have drastically improved the Maxx since it was first introduced in 2016. We doubled the brightness of our leds, we doubled the thickness of our lens, we doubled the cable size, now it is heavy duty black marine cable. We doubled the gland size and the rubber seal, and we doubled the amount of sealant in each light. The only thing we have not increased is the cost!
Proudly made in the USA.
The Maxx like all of our Green Lantern Fishing lights is made right here in the USA by Fire Water Marine.
Our competitors re-badge cheap China made lights, not us each light is built right here in America.

Answer: Hello, the lights have a 60 Day full money back guarantee, after that we will replace or repair the light free of charge for 6 months.. Simply contact us through our website. Thank you for your consideration.
Answer: heard of that issue before....so,when I got mine I sealed it real good with clear silicone and it has worked great for quite some time...
Answer: Not very encouraging that the seller didn't respond to this question, did they offer to replace the item?
Q:
Question for seller- can you please sell 25' cord model on amazon please? Ty
Answer: Hello, at this time the 25' cables are only available by direct/special order. Thank you for your consideration.
Q:
Says it come's with a 5 amp fuse..what it the fuse use for? Is there instructions ware to out the fuse?for
Answer: Hello, the fuse is inside the cigarette lighter power plug. You can unscrew the button and replace it. But be careful not to lose any parts as they are spring loaded. Thank you for your consideration.
Answer: The fuse is in case a cross circuit happens and you don’t blow your light up.
Answer: The fuse is to protect your electronic devices in case it shorts out
Q:
How long is the cord and could I use jumper cables to extend it from a high pier?
Answer: The cord is about 16 feet long
Answer: Cord is 15 feet long.
Q:
My light is flashing. How do I set it to static
Answer: It shouldn't flash. Must be something loose or broken.
Q:
will this work in salt water?
Answer: Absolutely yes, I just got mine so haven't used this particular one yet, but I've used a similar one for squid & it worked well.
Q:
Could i use two of these at the same time with a 12v splitter? tia
Answer: Hello, yes you can. A lot of customers do that.
Q:
Does this light float or sink?
Answer: Hello, It sinks, the lights are weighted internally.
Answer: obviously it sinks- 3 people have answered that---however, lately I have seen people suspending them just above or at water level. they were catching more fish than me- and I had mine down about 15'- so as long as your spot is good, and the light can attract the phytoplankton which starts the whole process- I don't think it matters too much where the light is or how deep it is.
Answer: Sinks
Answer: It will sink.
Q:
Would this work for snook fishin ?
Answer: Works awesome for snook fishing.
Answer: Yea any fish that feeds on bait fish, and the light will attract plankton for the bait fish
Q:
I bought one the other year and last year water went inside.
Answer: Water went inside ours too! It was still under warranty and Firewater prorated the price for a new one! So far it is still good! We did not mistreat it! We have had 3. The first one lasted 3 years! We used Loctite sealer around where the wire went in. The second I did not do that and it did not last a year!
Q:
Can I use a 12-volt 80 watt converter to power two of these hooked in parallel?
Answer: That should work fine.
Answer: Hello, yes that should work.
Q:
Can a 200 amp battery is used on this light?
Answer: Its a 12v light a 200 amp battery wiil work
Q:
How many amps does it draw at 12 volts
Answer: Hello, about 2amps. Thank you Martin
Q:
Do you have any new previews on the new and approved model light. They seem to be 2 years old
Answer: Not sure how long it’s been out. But this light is a crappie magnet. Plus we caught 2 spoonbills the same week. One one 47 lbs and countless limits of crappie during the summer bite. Buy it, you won’t regret it!
Q:
If the amperage is 2.5a and voltage is 12vdc, how do we get 50watt of power?
Answer: Hello, actual amp draw should be closer to 5 amps at 12vdc. Thank you.
Answer: You don’t as I used mine 2x and it doesn’t work now
Q:
Do you recommend a certain wall to 12v adapter for my dock or do you have a wall plug unit?
Answer: Hello, Amazon sells several 12v Power Supplies with the female cig plug. A 5amp would be minimal, 10amp would be better. These usually are not water proof so keep them in a dry place.
Answer: I use mine with a battery when I ice fish. Works well
Q:
How well will this light work in a river with strong current?
Answer: I think it would be a waste of time & money. Usually what attracts fish to the light is the bait fish around the light, in a strong river current it doesn't seem likely that bait fish will be strong enough to stay near the light, I don't know of any bait fish strong enough to do that, or that would expend that much energy fighting the current to stay there. What benefit would they get from doing that?
Answer: If the water is not dingy and you have a weight to hold it down it will probably work.
Q:
Do you have this water light is over 28 feet ?
Answer: Hello, the light is rated for upto 10 meters or about 30 ft deep. Though it seems 2 ft works best for fresh water fish.
Q:
how long would it work using 7amp. battery
Answer: About 3.5 hours
Q:
Will this light overheat if not submerged
Answer: Hello, no it doesn't overheat out of the water.
Q:
can weight be added for when the tide is running and how shoould this be done?
Answer: Hello, the light is weighted and sinks. Some people tie weights around the bottom of the light using large rubber bands.
Q:
what gauge is the power wire? I want to extend it longer.
Answer: I think the wire is 10 gauge wire. Not for sure though. The lights do work great though!
Answer: 18 gauge stranded 2conductor alarm cable
Answer: The new lights have the black marine cable, think it is 18awg with solid jacket. Excellent cable.
Q:
Here it is listed as 10,000 lumens. On the firewatermarine website it is listed as 15,000 lumens. Which of these is correct?
Answer: I think the discrepancy is due to the lumen estimate of the 5630 leds. The low estimate is 35 lumens and the high is 50 lumens per led. The Maxx has 300 leds so it would be between 10,000 and 15,000 lumens. 10,000 is a very conservative estimate.
Answer: I think it is 10000
Q:
What is the length
Answer: The Length of WHAT?????
Answer: AMERICAN MADE! Specifications: 1. Color: Green 2. Lamp length: 25 inches
Answer: It says the length on the picture.
Answer: It is almost 25" inches and Contains 300 of the brightest 5630 Leds on the market.
Q:
Can I connect this to a 2.5 battery pack ?
Answer: Hello, it must be 12 volts, and the light will pull probably 2 amps an hour. So if you have a 10amh 12v battery it will last about 5 hours.
Answer: I put mine on a 12 volt off of my. Ice fishing fishfinder. 2.5 may work it’s just led lights. But light works well.
Answer: Has to be a 12v system.
Q:
What type of wire is used? I want to add more length for use at a pier and want to get the same type.
Answer: I just used a decent outdoor extension cord and cut the ends off spliced the light to one end and the clamps to the other end and just used some waterproof silicone and globbed it all around the ends that are spliced to keep water out, works perfectly fine! very inexpensive, good luck!
Q:
Battery clips fell apart after 1 use, are they made stronger now? Yes
Q:
How can I extend the cord length?
Answer: Cut and splice in an extension of wire for both negative and positive wires. Best to spice near alligator clamps and use same gauge of wire or size bigger , example 12 to 12 gauge or 12 to 10 gauge if you are extending a long distance. I found that the cord provided was very generous in length and would not think an extension is necessary unless you have a very big boat.
Q:
What battery do you recommend I use with this product?
Answer: Hello, You can connect this to your boat battery or car battery. For portability we recommend a 7ah 12v rechargeable battery. Amazon sells these for about $20. Thank you.
Answer: I used one of the vehicle jumper cable boost packs and it worked great. You could use a regular car battery or smaller, like a lawn mower battery, and I think those would work even better. Granted they would be a pain to carry around.
Answer: I use a AstroAI Model - ASIACTODT-10 - AC TO DC CONVERTER being I use the light on a dock . The lights don't last very long they get water in them i have Bought 4 green and 1 white they all let water in and go out the last one i bought i put silicone around the top and bottom of the light and it lasted longer . I just went back to using a clamp on 110v lamp maybe not as many fish but a lot less cost and the fishing was not that much better with the green light . The AC-TO-DC Converter is still working which i also use with my 12 v knife . The 12V green or white lights do not last long for what they cost .
Answer: 12 volt car battery
Q:
I've caught a lot of crappie with this light over the past year [awesome product]. Wondering how deep to drop it for the Stripe Bass?
Answer: Ask the local fisherman how deep they are running varies by season and water temperature. Lower light 5 ft above stated depth, fish below light. The Maxx light is rated to handle depths up to 30 meters.
Answer: Normally near the bottom.
Q:
how long will it last with a 8 amp battery
Answer: Hello, the light pulls about 2 amps an hour. So you should get 4-5 hours.
Q:
Has anyone used this light for daytime fishing? Does it work for daytime fishing?
Answer: Would not work for daytime fishing, lights work at night because they attract plankton etc. to the light which draws minnows to eat the plankton, then fish to eat the minnows, light at night also attracts minnows so they can see predators better & avoid them, there would be no reason for plankton or minnows during the daytime to come to the light, the Sun is brighter and it's shining everywhere (except in the shadow of docks, bridges etc.)
Answer: It works great for night time fishing but I never tried it during they day. It is pretty bright though.
Answer: Hello, Ice fisherman use it during the day, as the ice blocks the sun from shining deep into the water.
Q:
how can i get custom order. i want two of the 25 inch lights but with 25 ft of cable each?
Answer: Not sure of that answer!
Q:
Do you just hang it by the cord?
Answer: Yes hang in by cord in to the water, don't use it out of the water , it is designed to use under the water keeps it cool , out the water it will over heat. This is the best fishing light I have ever bought the seller is honest and top quality products, and is completely honest , hard quality to find can't go wrong with fire water Mariana
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: That is the only way to hang it, Unless you make a hook for the light
Answer: yes the cord will hold it just fine, but I tied a safety line to it also
Answer: yes... wrap it around a rail for whatever depth you want....
Q:
Would this light be fine to fix permanently underwater on the edge of my dock?
Answer: No! My first one lasted three or four years. I ordered another one and it is full of water and I’m ready to return it!
Answer: Wouldn't see why not. Probably just let it rest during the day.
Q:
Does this work in saltwater?
Answer: Yes, it works for squid in salt water & other fish are attracted to it also.
Q:
do you make this with white lights?
Answer: Yes we do. At this listing you can choose your color.
Q:
what is the diameter of the light?
Answer: 2" inches in diameter, 25" Inches in Length, Over 2lbs in weight. With a 15' feet of black marine cable.
Answer: It’s about 1.5 inches in diameter, very compact size for the amount of light it puts out. It actually fits beautifully in my Cabelas wind river 4 piece fly rod case for safe storage.
Answer: About a inch and a half
Q:
Double the price?
Answer: Winter sale ended, new sale begins April 22nd. Thank you.
Q:
Per spec. one 5630 led consumes about 0.5 watt (0.15a@2.8-3.4vdc). how is it possible that 300 led's draw only 2.5a ?
Answer: Hello, the 5630 leds have various wattages. Ranging from .1w to .6w. Our leds range from .2-.4w The amp draw should be closer to 5amps
Q:
Is there a way I could hook this up to an outlet?
Answer: Yes, you just need a 12v 5amp power supply. Amazon sells them with the female cigarette adapter already connected for $10.
Answer: Yes, you just need a converter. 110 volt to 12 volt. Radio shack should have one.
Q:
How do I contact firewater marine for warranty service?
Answer: Directly through their site.
Q:
What kind of battery should I use and does it kill a battarey fast ?
Answer: 12v battery, no my battery runs bait tank and light for two days before recharge. The light draws low amps
Q:
How do you get a replacement as mine never worked out of the box. I recieved it as a gift!
Answer: Contact fire water marine.
Product reviews of Fire Water Marine 12V 25" MAXX LED Green Underwater Submersible Night Fishing Light 120 WATT -10,000 LUMENS: Crappie shad Squid Shrimp
Amazon Customer : Very Pleased With This Product
Well worth the money bright and very sturdy built, it works great, and the weighted feature is a bonus..!!!
Tracy M : 2 lights - both cracked on first use!
This is our 2nd light from this company. Both were defective and cracked the first time they were put in 55-degree water! Look elsewhere!
Amazon Customer : worked great..
worked great......very bright.......attracted tons of bait fish...I did use silicone to extra seal and waterproof lamp.....plan on using for a long time
Ben K Avant : I like to crappie fish at night occasionally under a bridge ...
I like to crappie fish at night occasionally under a bridge that has no lights. This light makes my night fishing a first class operation now. I use some LED flood lights, but this underwater green light is what really brings the fish to my boat. I put some E6000 clear glue around the black caps and cord to help prevent a leak from rough handling, but I'm not sure that was necessary. 10,000 lumens is all a fisherman needs. Great light!
Anthony Davis : 2
I am going to buy another one
obxhuntr : fish light
works great, good value

Bought this for hubby who crappie fish. He loves it
Xiangdang Z. : The light is not waterproof, water has entered, and now it has only 4/1 brightness.
The water entered after not long after use, and the brightness was half. Now returns are no longer possible, I don’t know how the merchant explains.
Ryan : Truly Amazing!
Works like a charm! I go saltwater fishing and this light is bright as can be in the water. You can see minnows in schools come towards the light. They can’t resist it. Plus, It was shipped way before I expected to receive it.
Richard : Don't buy this brand.
I have had two of these in the past few months and both of them went out. It was bright when it worked. Asked the company to sell me a new one at a discount instead they refund my money.
Duster : Arrived quickly, turned it on in the garage and ...
Arrived quickly, turned it on in the garage and it produces a lot of lite, can't wait to do some crappie fishing with it next Monday night.
Jake : Jack
The light is very bright, the line is very long, and the quality is very good.
Cheryl : Night fishing light
Great for night fishing for crappy. It is amazingly bright. Has been a big hit this summer!
dd : excellent product
Used 1 on each side of the boat and they had a huge school of shad circling the entire boat. We caught Crappie and white bass until we ran out of bait. Unbelievable results.
Robert : Just a Bit More R&D required
Ok for starters lets just say this - I shopped the competition and there is not mush that can compete with this product if you are looking for "bang for your buck"
Let's take a look at it's basic functionality and design in a bit more detail. For starters, the cabling in their unit is supple. Fairly flexible cord from light to battery with relatively reliable connectors. I used alligator clips and had no issues, but this unit could be easily adapted for a more waterproof connection to power.
Moving along lets talk about the lights. The light actually are brilliant. The quality of the LED's is fabulous, and is without doubt this units number one feature. While this is a value engineered unit, it is nice to see quality in the areas that matter most. The green light is very bright and is fun to fish around. I have not had a ton of time with the unit in the water at this point, but the little I did, I did seem to notice an increase in size and specie of fish. Normally my night fishing experiences are a bit slower, this light didn't necessarily speed up the rate of catch, but I do believe it may have influenced the quality of catch in terms of size. The crappies I caught were in the 10"-13" range - which if your reviewing this light for fishing you know what that means.
In terms of overall construction this product missed the mark, but not by much. I'd say it's still worth the buy, but know that you will need to modify, or improve it a bit for longevity purposes. For starters the water proof connection where the wire enters the lighting housing is clearly lacking quality control. The glue seemed to fracture as if it was old, or improper for the plastics, nothing a bit of 3M 5200 (or cheaper competitor product like Loc-Tite Marine) can't fix. Secondly the clear plastic housing is in my opinion is flimsy, and very thin leaving it extremely susceptible to cracking in time. No worries - fabricating a new sleeve out of clear vinyl tubing is quite easy and ensures a lifetime of use. Last but not least, and probably the most irritating is, this light does not float vertically. The power cable connects at the top of the light, counteracting the weight in the bottom of the lighting housing. Since the cable enters the light from the top the weight of the cable actually drags the top of the light down to the bottom and you are left with a light that is laying horizontally. No Bueno my friends, but easily solvable. I took the cable and ran it through a boat dock buoy, and then suspended the light cable from the buoy. This allowed the light to remain vertical, and actually provided a bit of cover for potential bait fish, so again not a terrible scenario. Finally, I would reinforce the connection where the power cable enters the light housing. Most fishermen are probably trying to throw this light a few feet away from their boat to get away from engine props, as opposed to just lowering it under the boat. The point where the cable enters the light housing should be reinforced with a better glue or bonding agent. Like I said maybe 3M 5200.
If I was working with these guys here is what I'd do. Id make a better housing for the awesome lights, because they are great! I would make sure my lights floated appropriately by making the light housing buoyant enough to float upright while appropriately weighted at the bottom. And last but not least I'd make the light housing a bit more robust. Do all this, add 10-20 dollars to product price and BAM! You would kill the competition!
if you asked me to buy this light again, I'd say that I would. fishing with it was fun. who doesn't like sight fishing 24/7 - this light does make that possible. It just has some R&D to work out before it can become a standard in fishing excellence. Until then, I will happily use my light in anticipation of product improvement and recommend this product based on the "bang for the buck".
Thanks!

Bought this for hubby who crappie fish. He loves it
Amazon Customer : You won’t find a better light at this price for night fishing!!
I have used several of the smaller ( 1000W ) lights but this single light out performs all of them put together around my boat. Had bait fish all around the boat in less than twenty minutes. Sure made it a lot easier for catching more crappie than the smaller lights. Had no problems with water leaking into this light. This is the light you need if you enjoy trouble free night fishing.
obxhuntr : fish light
works great, good value
paul pritchett : Great fish attractor..
This thing certainly draws in the crappies... could use a longer cord...
daniel s. : Why spend 100 bucks more. The light is enormous!
Huge light that will e inside a 39" minnow trap ( $15.99) it is bright enough to see all the posts under the dock where the snooks hang out. I am getting antsy waiting for cold spell to get through and get the two minnow traps for greenbacks and threadfins. Both costing less than $40, total. For less than $100 I have two bright green lights and a plan to get the hundreds of swirling minnows. Buy it!!!

Wesley Y. : Superb
Very nice light and very bright. Nicely constructed too. It has a nice, long power cord with a high quality cigar plug. I can't wait to see how many fish it attracts.
Gas man : Sucks
Leak and broke the first day
CajunCowboy : Works and shipped on time
Happy with purchase so far. It arrived earlier than expected and intact. I tried it out for a little while last night and works well for what I want. I bought a 10A AC power converter to plug into an outlet on my dock. I think the light only draws 5A so the there is a cheaper 10 dollar 6A converter that would probably work for anyone that wanted to know. There was condensation in the light the short time it was in the water, but I am sure that is from the heat of the light. I can't speak on the longevity, but will update if I remember.
Tracy M : 2 lights - both cracked on first use!
This is our 2nd light from this company. Both were defective and cracked the first time they were put in 55-degree water! Look elsewhere!
Junior Owenby : It puts off very good light
It's very bright and will work well night fishing.

Amazon Customer : OK Night light
Not real bright, needs weight on bottom to keep it down.
mrszee : great purchase
love these things

kengeezy : Baitfish love it
I’ve only been able to use this once since my purchase. But I have to tell you that the bait fish were swimming around it in the thousands. When I went to pull the light out of the water they were jumping out of the water toward the light. Unfortunately I didn’t get any big fish ????
#1TRACKMAN : Looks good.
Looks good. Works well!
Mike : Very disappointed
Doesn’t work after 4 uses
John : Looks good so far
So far so good tested out of water looks great..will use this next weekend..if works still will buy another.
Gotta Drive'm : Works as Advertised
Finally got a chance to use it and it did not disappoint at all. Worked great and within 15-20 minutes had a huge ball of Shadows surrounding the boat. I would buy this light again.
Curtis Hadd : Very bright!
Product was brighter than expected!
GTG : Good light. Would buy again.
Works well. Not super bright. But it was fairly cheap. I added more silicone to the seals. I think I will buy one or two more. Which is still cheaper than a super bright one and more versatile.
Roberts family : Light up the night
Light is 15 feet deep. Fish finder went crazy. Great quality
Walleyeking???? : Fish Magnet!
Awesome light!. I had enough shad in to walk on. Caught crappie stripers white bass catfish drum and a nice walleye first time out.
dd : excellent product
Used 1 on each side of the boat and they had a huge school of shad circling the entire boat. We caught Crappie and white bass until we ran out of bait. Unbelievable results.
Amazon Customer : works great very bright
was surprized on how well it works.Very bright, and attracts lots or bait fish!!
Auttie : Works good but tube leaks.
Works great but tube leaked the first time I tried it and it's full of water. More than likely wont last long now if like previous submersibles I've had. I should have siliconed all seams and around wire.
Steve Hubbard : Great light shipped the same day I ordered too
Great light shipped the same day I ordered too. I put some extra silicone just for back up . Hadn't had any problems . I will probaly order another one I like it so good!
Sailuk Tulugaq : A Solid product that attracts bait fish like Crazy...and young and old will enjoy watching.
Thank You BledMart for producing such a fine lamp for attracting everyone in the neighborhood. I have bought a new submersible LED Green lamp each and every year due to many sorts of failures after a short amount of use...two months of more. Never has one lamp lasted from one year to the next.
All of these lamps I have owned are used the same way....Alligator Clipped to a 12v Sears Diehard, and hung off of my pier in 2 to 3 feet of water. I drop the lamp in at dark and within 10 minutes all those little zooplankton (Sponge Bob looking things) are buzzing around the lamp like Gnats, but in the water. The little bait fish of all sorts along the Patuxent River in Southern Maryland are all buzzing around too within an hour of nightfall and it is like something from Jacques Cousteau.
The Perch start darting across the large "glow field" that this lamp creates. It draws the curiosity of crabs and large hunter fish like Cats and Rockfish.
The first lamp I recieved from Firewater Marine suffered a short-circuit within the cigarette lighter coupling. My 'return and replacement' was perfect.
Firewater Marine made custom for me a replacement without the cigarette coupler and ti the cable length I so desired. This replacement was scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday of next week...But FWM shipped it pronto and Priority so it was delivered by USPS today, Friday.
Thank You again FWM for making such an excellent fish lamp. But I am not sure who gets the most enjoyment from it...Me or the fishes? Watching all those different little fish and crabs dancing around in unison is Mesmerizing, as I tell my FB friends.
I love your product because of how well it works as advertised and how well you backup your customers. I have company this weekend from NJ, and they will be delighted seeing what your product does.
Quyanakpak!
Mark Jones : Awesome!!
Great Light for fishin. Definitely attraches bait fish. All I can say is Getcha' one and you'll not regret it.
kengeezy : Baitfish love it
I’ve only been able to use this once since my purchase. But I have to tell you that the bait fish were swimming around it in the thousands. When I went to pull the light out of the water they were jumping out of the water toward the light. Unfortunately I didn’t get any big fish ????
Larissa G. : Works Great!
We love this light! We have a white LED and this green LED. Both work well and we have not noticed a difference between the two but both work great. The latest fishing trip with both lights brought in 100+ white bass.
Joseph Tabone : long power cord and shutter froof clear light cover.
Liked the fact that it has a long power cord and shutter proof clear cover. Looking forward to use it for squid fishing.
Roberts family : Light up the night
Light is 15 feet deep. Fish finder went crazy. Great quality
