Do these have a weed guard?

Answer: These do not have a weed guard. You need to get the Z-Man Project Z Weedless Chatterbait. Those do have excellent weed guards. The usual Chatterbait’s tendency to hang up on wood is almost entirely alleviated with the weedless version.

Answer: There is no guard, but it does fairly good in weeds. It picks up moss quickly though.

I ordered a few of these in different colors. I have never used a chatter bait before. They work well. I have caught a few nice bass on them. I fish in very weedy ponds and these baits do a god job at not getting hung up too much.

Chuckcheesy : First day the bait broke.

Threw it a couple of dozen times and the bait broke on a completely normal cast. Not at all pleased.

I love these chatterbaits. I used to use spinner baits a lot, but I can't remember the last time I bought a spinner bait because I catch more fish on the chatterbait. It does not work in water where there's any kind of moss though. It will pick up every little bit of moss unlike a spinner bait that goes through some.
