Answer: You can use foil as it isn’t really that hot. However I HIGHLY recommend the no stick sheets they make for these. They are very easy cleanup and dried fruits etc slide right off.

Answer: On mesh trays I'm sure you can but I have used instead teflon sheets on current trays and they are great with it they are nonstick and easy clean and about being stainless not too sure I haven't seen any oxidation on parts but I do clean and dry up before storing to keep up the life of product

Answer: It will not turn on without using the timer and it will only run up to 15 hours. I just set my phone alarm every morning and night so I remember to reset it.

I am thrilled with my purchase. I carefully researched dehydrators for over a year both on-line and in stores. I contacted the seller and they answered my pertinent questions - and assured me that they had a great return policy. At the time, I thought I was taking a chance purchasing a large heavy piece of equipment that was NOT offered by "PRIME" - I was apprehensive because I did not want to incur shipping charges if I decided to return the item. Upon delivery I found I had worried and fretted for nothing. This is one of the best pieces of kitchen equipment I own. -Right up there with my refrigerator, stove and kitchenaid stand mixer. I use it everyday - Great for making yogurt, all kinds of dried fruit and vegetables - my favorites being dried onion flakes and raisins. I add No extra sugar or sulfites and try to use organic as much as possible. This machine has saved me allot of money. Indispensable - Thank-you Yescom and Amazon for making this equipment available.

No response from company when the on off switch stopped working. I bought it and in one year the switch stopped working and I cannot turn it on because it is a digital board a repair man told me it would be cheaper to buy a new one then to fix the digital board switch. I wrote the company and they never got back to me. I read other reviews that the switch does go out in this model. Very disappointing and I am now looking to buy a new one. I am scared to buy all the digital ones and it takes time to review and know if other models will have similar issues.
