Unmatched in attraction and originality, the jackall pompadour provides a one-of-a-kind top water presentation that fish won't be ready for. Designed to tempt bass at the surface, the jackall pompadour is fitted with metal Wings that collapse on the cast and then flare out once they hit the water. Made to move tons of water, the flapping metal Wings create a noticeable splash and a unique sound that compliments the dual rattle chambers. At the rear, the jackall pompadour features a free-swinging hook holder and a Prop blade that generate a heavy gurgling attraction. This forward-thinking design not only creates additional disturbance, but it also eliminates the possibility of a bass using the lure as leverage to spit the hook. Answer: they aren't all hype, it depends on what color the fish are going after and if they are hitting top water or not. This has been my best producing bass lure this summer and I will do amazing on the black one and the next day they wont touch it so I change to a white and they are all over it.

Answer: these are meant for top water fishing for large mouth bass or equivalent so I would think one of the larger hooks, not a small trout size.

What's the difference between the regular one and the Jr one
Answer: The Jr is just scaled down in size, smaller then the regular one. I like the Jr I can work it around cover and along banks better. It is a heavy lure.

Answer: Yes it's just one lure. It's pricey but every bit worth it. I have used my 3 times and caught a 6 pound bass, and 2 8 pounders. It's a keeper! Plan to get other colors.

Answer: No, it doesn't matter if you're casting with braid.
Answer: I have never used braid with it. It shouldn't make any difference. The only problem I see is braid is light and loose it might get wrapped around the hooks or the wings. I am just not a fan of braid. I am old school mono.

Answer: Don't know exact ounces but it's heavy compared to normal bass baits. You can cast it for miles. Don't know anything about the Jr.
Answer: I know the junior is 5/8 ounce. I weighed the "big one" and got .77 ounces. Topwater season is almost here so I'll soon be able to respond about casting with it and how well it works.

I caught 5.2 pounder last week on it. This is a super bait but fragile as are most metal prop baits. Beautiful color. The fish I caught hit so hard it was epic. Expensive lure. Wish I could afford more.

Great top water lure. Perfect combination of a prop bait and jitterbug. It's my go to topwater lure. Had success with Bone and Green Frog on clear water lakes. Had success with Black on stained water lakes.

First off, the action on this lure is incredible. Ive never seen anything like it. I thought it would be like a jitterbug (which is a good lure) but its not. Its MUCH noisier. The bass near me (central NC) cant leave it alone. They hit it really hard, similar to how they attack topwater frogs. The difference is that the treble hooks are really sticky so I hook up more often with this than with a frog. It casts unexpectedly well. I thought the wings would create a lot of drag, but somehow it doesnt. Well designed.

I bought the Bone and black version. I have not tried any other colors.
I have caught fish with this (after only owning if 4 days) during all times of day, but I have the most success after 5:30pm. Once 5:30pm hits the fish lose their minds for this thing.
Most of the lakes, rivers, ponds I fish have stained or murky water. Not sure how this would do at a clear water lake.
I cant speak to durability just yet, but I have had lures break on me after 2 or 3 fish. I am 15+ fish, ranging in size from .5 to 5 pounds, into this lure and its still looks and functions exactly as it did the first time I cast it.
