The New Vudu Mullet is the perfect imitation of a small finger mullet. Great for trout, reds, snook and other inland species. Rigged with a VMC Saltwater 4.0 hook and has an internal 1/4 oz. weight for great casting distance. The Vudu Mullet is a medium sink lure and best with a medium retrieve. A stop n go retrieve is very effective. Crank a few times then let it fall for a second, then crank it again. Can be burned along the surface also.

Answer: I think it might depend on water, I'm in the panhandle and they love the injured mullet color here but I've also had luck with chartreuse. I watched a video of a girl that caught a large mouth bass with the pink so I don't think you can go wrong with any.

Live in North Florida. What is the most popular color for the bay?

Answer: I don't fish North Florida but the basic school of thought is, darker colors in dark water lighter colors is clear water. I like natural colors (colors that match the bottom). I chose the "Injured" color because I thought it was the most natural looking. Good Luck!

Answer: In my experience purchasing from a few retailers silver flake and wounded mullet are the most popular. As w most baits I guess there are color preferences (chartereuse in low viz or at night) but those are pretty much buy and try till you get zerod in on your area. Try reelsandtackle for great prices and customer service. They are a fl retailer and the owner is a good guy.

Answer: try to shad color. One of silver and black, and the other is about the same with a bit of blue and pink, as I remember. These are also good for bass, as well as saltwater fish.

A new and innovative type fishing lure.

I've caught plenty of bass with this and the other 3-1/2" mullets. Crazy good swimming action. Give the rod tip a little action to make the lure hesitate. That's when the fish hit it. It's a must have.

Use it on a light 13 fishing baitcaster and 10 lb braid with 20lb fluro for tarpon and snook. It stays on the surface and won't go down. Its to bad as it looks well made; definitely needs to be heavier.

Bait works great but I will not buy anymore. I used it for speckeled trout fishing and caught fish with them. The problem is that the tails break way to easy. For 8 bucks a pop these can get expensive when fish keep eating tails off.

These baits will catch almost any fish. I personally have caught speckled trout, redfish, and freshwater Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass, numerous species of sunfish (bream/perch), crappie, gar, chain pickerel, and catfish (yes, I said catfish).
And now, Egret is making a freshwater version of this same lure, the Vudu Shad.
IMO this is one of the best swim baits on the market for the price.

If you can't catch fish with this bait, esp in rootbeer, you need to find another hobby. I just got back from Everglade City where we took Snook, Tarpon, reds, and several other species all on The Vudu shrimp and the mullet. I drove 100 miles to purchase one large mullet in rootbeer and took a 38inch snook in the first 5 casts. I lost the bait later on a Tarpon around the docks. They are not indestructable but they are very very durable. I cary all sizes in natural and rootbeer. They are GREAT.

Had a blast with this lure in SWF this past weekend. Caught both snook and bass on this lure same section of river. (Until a large snook inhaled it and snapped my 20 fluorocarbon leader) :(
Loved the Injured mullet color in 3.5" cases easily in light to moderate wind. You can place it near to cover to draw the snook and bass out of cover. Swimming motion of the tail is excellent recommend a pause on the retrieval and hang on!!

I love it the action is gorgeous looks like a real mullet I just got it in the mail today figure I would try it a little see how it casts didn’t even bring the boat out just went on the side of some marina nearby me through to the side of the dock on the first cast and caught this guy he inhaled it! I was using the “Injured mullet color” 3.5” also 2 lady fish. It works

Gniretawp : 1st cast massive strike

1st time I bought this lure. When it landed on the doorstep I tied it to a light set up just to test it out and see its action in a pond nearby. While I was looking at it's amazing action and thought "wow that looks nice" a huge bass comes out of no where and annihilated this lure. When I set the hook line snapped????. 5 minutes later went online and ordered a bunch more!
