Questions about 10 Inch Professional Jig with Multi-Monkey Fist Jig
Q:
I purchased this item and it has no instructions. Pease help.
Answer: U can look on YouTube on how to do bracelets and I also bought paracord 101 for my daughter and I to learn the jig and how to do bracelets. After we did a few we love it and can't stop making them. I already had to buy more paracord. Your paranoid should of came with clips attached to it, all u need to do is attach opposite ends to them then thread your paracord according to the type of bracelet your making. Hope this helps some
Answer: I know. I ran across the same problem. I still haven't used it. I'm going to google it and see if I can get some help that way.
Answer: First, questions. what do you plan to make? Bracelet? Monkey ball? do you have plastic release buckles (bracelets)?
Answer: What is it that you are having trouble with? It's pretty simple to use.
Q:
Can the buckles be switched out for other sizes?
Answer: Yes, if there is not a size on the jig it's self, just switch it out with one you are using. Plastic ring held down by Phillips screw.
Answer: Yes I switch them out with different types and sizes all the time , all you need is a Phillips head screw driver
Answer: Should be no problem
Product reviews of 10 Inch Professional Jig with Multi-Monkey Fist Jig
Googalabosh : OK for a quick little travel jig
Great small Jig to have when on the go. A coupe of the holes for the screws in mine were stripped so I have to fix that but otherwise very good construction with high quality wood. The dowel's don't quite fit but I have another Jig for that anyways.
tishtish : No Directions!!
Comes with absolutely no instruction. I still cannot use the monkey ball jig. Even a basic xerox sheet of simple directions would have been incredible. Very disappointed.
Joshua M. : It's alright for beginners.
Purchased this just after Christmas. Was impressed with how fast it came.
As for the jig itself. The look of it is pretty cheap. The wood holds up but looks cheap. The buckles included are the cheap ones (which do not connect with the smoother versions). So if you use those, you have to swap them out (which is easy to do). My biggest grip with the jig is the sliding end. After a few uses (no matter how tight I had it) the block would shift. Either up (losing the length) or it would turn to the left (the majority of bracelets I do are 5/8 or higher buckles). That would in turn make have to start over or try to fix the knot(s).
I mainly use the monkey fist jig. I use 3/4 and 1 inch ball bearings with it. The 3/4 is a little tough if you do more than a 4 turn (and even at 4 turns it bunches up on the dowels).
Overall it's an ok jig. I suggest it for someone who is just started off tying or does it as a hobby. Otherwise you're better off making one yourself. Plenty of videos on YouTube showing the steps and what you need. I myself learned the hard way with purchasing this and then making one myself. But it did give me the idea of what I needed in a jig.

Scott Upton : Keep Looking
I have tried a couple Paracord jigs in the past, and this one is my least favorite. Here's my reasoning:
1. On the adjustable end, the is one bolt with a wing nut that when loosened allows you to slide the item to the desired length. However, unless you really torque the wing nut down, it can still slide a bit, and even rotate (bolt is centered on the unit allowing it to spin.
2. It would be nice if the mounts were raised up a bit, as this would give you more room to work and loop underneath, use hemostats or fids.
3. The bolts in the unit stick out of the bottom, so when placed on a flat surface the unit wobbles. Further, don't put the unit down on anything you don't want to scratch (desk, countertop, etc), as wight he bolts exposed and on that surface, they will scratch it. Simply adding some stand off rubber feet, or something similar would have fixed this.
Debra Moniz : other than that, I would like to thank u for the quick response....
I chose this rating because I haven't had time to use the item....n also there is no instructions on how to use these products..
