Gary Guthrie : Ling and Rock Cod Love this lure!

I picked up these holographic diamond jigs at the same time as the chrome jigs. The Ling and Rock Cod love these lures. You can either cast them out and "jig" them back toward the boat or just drop them to the bottom when drift fishing and keep them moving up and down. (you're supposed to "flip" them up and let them flutter back down....looks like a wounded fish). Just be sure to keep them a couple of feet off of the bottom or you will definitely get snagged with that big treble hook! I did donate one to Neptune, so getting a 5-pack is great. I didn't really see any difference between fish liking the holographic finish over the chrome finish (the fish bit both), but these are nice looking lures. I was surprised that a small rock cod bit this monster lure! 16 oz is great when fishing from a party boat when you are in lots of current.....it tends to keep your line more below your spot, reducing tangles with other anglers. Make sure to wash the lure off after using in salt water - like all of your gear!

Deadly jig on Stripers and Blues but the treble hooks are really low quality. They'll break upon reaching or bouncing the bottom. Add a single "J" hook immediately or you're wasting a cast. Do they have replacement mylar? Would also be nice to have extra mylar sheets that can be heat shrunk to keep them fresh. Otherwise, great jig and will help get down to the bottom with tough rips.
