Just cut it, hook it and cast it. All you need is sharp scissors. How EZ is that E-Z Crab can be used on a bare hook or as a trailer on a jig or skirt. Each bait strip is 1/2 wide and about 12 long. Use them to catch a wide variety of saltwater species. The Longer Lasting formula features a cloth binder in the middle of the bait that keeps it on the hook despite the efforts of notoriously toothy bait stealers. While the gel is designed to work in all water temperatures, it's best to use in water temperatures above 65F.

Answer: 1 bag, 2 long strips

does this product have an imbedded mesh cloth for holding strenght on the hook?

Answer: Yes. And it stays on the hook pretty good, even with a lot of bites. We use treble hook and put it over two of the points. Still haven't caught our first keeper using it, but usually pull it out when we aren't catching anything with live bait either!

I was really surprised at how well this bait worked when fishing for porgies of the coast of Brooklyn NY. While others were fishing with fresh clams having to change bait every drop, these Fishbites lasted 4 to 5 drops with catches to my amazement. You got to try these! I’m sold on this product.

Ruth B Lippincott : Works well. The bloodworm "flavored" strips are even more effective.

Works for inshore saltwater species : croakers, blowfish, porgies, etc. I put on a small piece and top it off with a piece of fresh squid, clam, etc. If the fish akes your bait, it will remain and gulp this stuff down. Bloodworm style is even more effective.
Note: The bloodworm "strips are great for ice-fishing for white & yellow perch.

I bought this item because it said "2-pack." Also, in the information about the item it says that there are 2 strips "per bag." I just got one bag in my package. Now, I know a bag of Fish Bites runs for $5 or $6, but I thought they were selling 2 bags for $8, which seemed too good to be true and too much for 1 bag, but again, the way the advertisement's worded is deceiving. Maybe this was just a really good deal... As far as the product goes, I haven't tried it, so no comment on that. You all shouldn't write "2-pack" if there's only 1 bag delivered. Plus, I hope I'm getting 2 strips (like it says in the bag) instead of 1 by purchasing this item, so no need to write "2-pack" if by this you're referring to how many strips come in each bag. If you messed up my order, then please send the missing bag.. I won't be mad. Thanks. 3 stars just because at least I got the product but I haven't tried it.

RickJP : Its effectiveness still remains to be proven

I tried it yesterday fishing off the Lake Worth pier (Lake Worth FL), combining it with Native Salt Clams and with dead shrimp, and even cut squid. Fish chowed down on everything but the Fishbites and the cut squid, albeit I was using Walmart’s non-frozen cut squid, which obviously sucks. And then, getting the leftover Fishbites off the hook requires a sissor, because the strip has cloth mesh inside, not to mention it makes a hell of a mess. I’ll give it a few more shots, but I’m definitely not impressed.
