Does anyone know how to use the connector link!

Answer: on the end piece, there should be a cut between both sides of the link. You have to pry them apart, sometimes it can be hard but then you can slide the other end through the link. We just use a locking carabiner to connect the two sides.

Answer: It comes with one connector link.

Answer: Just for you, Bob, I went out and measured it (even though it's cold and rainy)! Each link is 1-1/2 inches long. This is an excellent goat chain -- we can't find these in our local stores -- and I would highly recommend.

If a goat is caught on a fence and the collar releases, is the collar still usable?

Answer: We have reused ours and just connected the piece that broke. Usually with a locking carabiner. If they get stuck again, the collar will break in another location.

Please tell me how to order extra connector links. I had 2 break on the very first day.

Answer: Honestly, I would just use a carabiner or a zip tie to hold it shut. The collar, in my experience, will break away at another link if the goat gets stuck on a fence. We use these on all of our animals and just get a locking carabiner to attach the ends. Less than a dollar at Farm and Fleet

Some of my goats are a little feisty because they aren’t use to a milk stand yet. They need to be somewhat forcefully led in. Are these strong enough?

Answer: Initially they will be but sun and weather will allow for breakage. Make sure you have feed to entice them up.

Can anyone tell me how to open connector link? I just see 2 divets on each long opposing side, & don't want to twist or yank it too hard and break it.

Answer: The connector link opens like a key ring opens. Spread it apart and slide the chain through it.

Answer: I think you have to buy a "connector" link and I assume it is sold separately. I haven't looked into buying the connector link so I don't know if Amazon offers it. Good luck.

Can I cut the extra links off somehow? Because there is a lot of extra length on my small Pygmies!!

Answer: Yes, you can cut it off but I leave the extra length dangling like a lead rope to grab them if I'm getting them out to milk etc

Answer: I broke mine squeezing it with a clamp. I imagine pipe cutters or hose cutters would work but Im not entirely sure. Normal scissors would not work. But it is possible to break it with a little effort

Answer: There's another person that sells heavy duty links only on Amazon. They are heavy duty - could hold toys on strollers too

This is a great product but once it has been chewed on by another goat it is not as durable. I would recommend it but it will need to be replaced every two months or so.

Connector chain a little tricky to figure out, looks defective but mine separated after a slid my finger nail into the end piece.

If you're buying for your goats, it's good for a plastic chain but not as a collar. The quality of plastic looks like it will break down quickly in the sun. It's light plastic, not the durable plastic some goat collars have.

Designed as a cheap lead, which we found useful nonetheless.
