Questions about Strike King Bitsy Minnow Bait
Q:
would you consider this to be more bitsy or closer to teeny? thanks!
Answer: After measuring it with my atomicly calibrated calipers (that means it's a fancy ruler for those not familiar with that level of precision tool) I found it is dead center half way between itsy bitsy and bitsy. Not so much teeny tiny or even teeny. That is about the most exact scientific answer you could possibly get to your question. Case closed. But with that said, here is where it gets real complicated, when under water due to the diminished light. To a real live fish, it appears teeny.
Answer: 1" in length ------ perfect for crappie/small mouth
Answer: Well im pretty sure they are little less than an inch long or so. I hope this answers your question
Q:
How do you cast this farther without messing up the action?
Answer: Hi - This lure was for my kids and we only fish from the shore. I attached bobbles and they were able to cast between 20-30 feet. Don't think this will help a more experienced fisherman!
Answer: So I use a light action 8'ish rod with 10lb braid and tie straight to it. Occasionally I'll get the hooks tangled in the line but otherwise no issues.. plenty of distance and plenty of fish. Even bluegill have eaten it.
Answer: Very light line (up to 4lb), UL or L rod (7' or longer) and you'll get decent casts. It'll also help if the spool on your reel isn't too narrow.
Answer: I second what Lowe said, I use the same 4 lb. mono and tie it directly to it. I use an ultra light rod and reel. this is used with small light action as mentioned, but can yield big results so be careful fishing around brush or stumps.
Answer: You definitely get the best action by tying directly to your mono, and even a swivel will affect it. So, the best I know to suggest is that you stick to the lightest action setup that you can manage. I use this on 4 lb. mono with an ultralight rod/reel, and I really enjoy the sensitivity and the ability to react to the strike. But, you're never gonna pitch this quite as far as you would something heavier.
Answer: Old thread but for bank fishing I haven't tied anything but the lure on. Great results with panfish
Q:
What water dept is this lure used for?
Answer: Maybe up to 3 feet.... I use it consistently at a couple ponds in shallower water but never get it deeper than 3 feet. It's very light
Answer: It runs shallow sub surface. Maybe 3-4". Brim love this thing. So do smallmouth. Go with a darker color for better strikes. The bright green is good if its muddy water.
Q:
What's the max diving depth??
Answer: About 5 feet
Q:
What is the quality of the hooks on this brand of crankbait?
Answer: They don't seem to be very high quality but they're sharp enough. No major rust issues either.
Answer: very sharp and strong. Ive used it to catch large bass to crappie.
Q:
Sinking or Floating?
Answer: sinking
Answer: It runs anywhere from 5" to 6" underwater to a couple of feet depending on how fast you reel and if the water is moving. It is definitely not a floating lure.
Q:
Does it float? How deep Will it drive during retrieval?
Q:
Does it rattle
Answer: It does NOT have a rattle (at least, it's not supposed to....out of the water, of course, the tiny treble hooks make a rattling noise...but no. No rattle)
Answer: No it doesn't,however the Strike King red eye shad 2 tap does.Very effective lure.
Answer: No they dont.
Answer: no it does not
Product reviews of Strike King Bitsy Minnow Bait
Dale : Five Stars
Great little squarebill
heather c. : Color is lighter than item pic
Pic shows heavier/ darker colors; turned out I already have this one. Keeping it just because not worth gas to go return.
*Item arrived when it was supposed to; packagaing was sufficient.
V. Uber : Great lure
Used it multiple times already and love it. It performs every time and is great for the intended purpose. I definitely am not regretting buying this and others.

Andrew Cormier : Great lure
This lure is great for trout they snatch it right up.
Justin Lai : Quality crankbait
Caught my first fish with this! It's small (about an inch maybe less than that. Colors were bright, hooks were sharp). I'm sad that I lost it in the water though.
Denise R. Smith : Five Stars
very good bait
Savlaka : Nice mini crankbait, good for various species.
Great mini lure, runs true nice action, and just the right balance of weight for size. I catch Bass, panfish, and Gar on this.
Andrew Cormier : Great lure
This lure is great for trout they snatch it right up.
mike : Try it you just might like it
I've used these lure before and really like them ,it's a great bass lure
Kindle Customer : Five Stars
excelent
Denise R. Smith : Five Stars
very good bait
Eric Wentz : Hooks get tangled on themselves
I like the action and the size of this lure but it suffers from a big flaw for me. The lure will catch both treble hooks on itself rendering the lure useless to catch fish. Wasted casts and minutes to unhook the hooks. I may review the belly hook and just run the back hook but very frustrating right out of the box.
Goody : Perch love it
Cought a perch the first time I used it. Works great
Pat : Great Lure for Smaller Fish
My father-in-law and I fish a lot together. He is more into catching bigger fish and doesn't mind waiting them out, while I prefer to catch a lot of fish quickly. For me, this is the perfect lure. The rattle inside is dynamite for smallmouth bass, and I can catch 15-20 floating the river over the course of 2-3 hours. The barbs are VERY sharp and I sometimes struggle to get them out of the bass' mouth, but there are worse problems to have. I've tried a couple of different colors for where I normally fish, and for me the best is the Fire Tiger with its bright colors. The other reviewers are right that you won't catch many fish over a pound with this lure because of its size, but if you are a beginner or just like to catch a lot of fish, this lure is great for you. If you want to go out and catch 4-5 lb largemouths, look elsewhere.
Also, while the best action is going to be with a super lite pole and 4lb line, I use a medium action pole with 8lb test and still feel the action well, but I fish a fast moving river. Just realize that it is possible to use bigger setups, which for me is nice when I want to switch between bass fishing and walleye/rainbow trout fishing because I don't need two different poles.
JP Banks : First Cast Winner!
Awesome little lure. I caught a fish on the very first cast. I need to get one for my wife and daughter.
Fishing Fool : Great bluegill fry imitator
I bought these to mimic the bluegill fry in my local lake in the fall. Big trout chase the fry like crazy in the fall. I am using the sexy shad color and it is a pretty good match for the bluegill fry. I troll them slowly and have caught a lot of nice sized trout (14-18") on these little lures.
Michael Miller : Strike king is a winner
Perfect ttansaction
Chris mccall : 1/8 oz
Hooks constantly tangle into each other
JEANFRANCO : muy bueno es lo que esperaba lo recomiendo
Excelente articulo
Daniel Rice : The size of tackle
Perfect crankbaits for Crappie
Daniel E. Maciejczak : GREAT

Alec Pettifer : So many fish!
I have caught so many fish with this thing....
Austin : Nice lure.
I got this item at another store but I'm thinking about ordering another here. I have the Sexy Shad color right now but there are a few more i would like.
Amazon Customer : Light and Simple
Recently had tried to get into using ultralight set ups and figured, why not try this crank bait? Bought it, took it out, and was immediately impressed with the results. Caught loads of blue gill and caught my first ever crappie. I would recommend darker colors, but the rattle inside is a nice touch as well to get attention.
Levi : Absolutely Perfect
I bought a similar one in silver and it works perfect. It looks exactly like the picture. For me in California, I catch a fish on this lure almost every 1 or 2 casts. It is the perfect size for the ponds I fish in and I'm definitely going to buy some in different colors. This is a must buy and it works great. Tight lines!
chris : one of my fave baits!
