Picture's a bit unclear. Is this a pack of rubber worms (or other such creatures) or flies? If rubber, can it be fished under a bobber, jig, etc? TY

Answer: trout is a soft grub that looks like a crayfish can be used to fish bottom or top with a bobber (jig) to go for bass. Works well for any pan fish in lakes and ponds.

Answer: They are small crayfish, great for trout panfish and small mouth bass.. You can fish it under a bobber and they do come with light jigheads for casting

Answer: You can file off the barbs pretty easy. Not sure how a game warden would look at it if you just smashed the barb down. They are not scented.

Answer: I am not aware of a "white package" kit, but I have bought several trout magnet/slayer kits and they are all assorted colors. single colors come in individual packs.

Are the baits pre-rigged?

Answer: No, they are not pre-rigged. There are some hooks provided that are easy to bait with the lures. Easy to play and catch fish with. I have caught trout and bass with these lures.

Answer: In contrast to the previous responses, a couple of the baits came pre-rigged in my kit. The assortment does include several small jig heads, which makes fishing these lures very easy.

josh : Best artifical lure i've used.

i use em for everything, crappie, sunfish, bait fish, perch, small mouth, large mouth, rainbow trout, and brookies. The only issue i have is casting the light weight heads without using an ultralight rod, sometimes to get that distance ill use a bigger jig, or cast with the wind. don't tell on me but ill even tie em on a fly rod. i'd recommend buying a tackle organizer, the one that comes with it distorts and becomes useless.

Though the cutthroat and rainbows out west hit dry flies, they were not interested in the trout slayer lures. Probabbly work on panfish in the midwest/south.

They work. Hit NY steam before they stocked and caught a nice 15" Brown. Beautiful yellow belly trout that looked like it had been in the stream a while. This bait fooled him in heavily pressured area. Use the TM floats to drift it at multiple depths. So easy to dial in bottom. Float is light and has great feel to it.

This review is mostly about the jig heads rather than the product as whole. I bought this kit because I love trout fishing and I love using trout magnet jig heads. The one thing about these jig heads that I love is the size. They are not your average trout magnet jig head size. I love using them when I fish with live worms because you can easily wrap and whole worm around the jig. They are also sharp and well designed. In fact I caught my first wild trout using the jig head out of this kit. Check out the picture included. And to be honest I like the kit in general because it offers a nice color variety of crawdad bait and I’m sure I’ll use the whole kit properly on my next trip.

Just went fishing today in a heavily fished lake. In 4 hours we (2of us) landed 30 bass, 18 crappie, bunch of bluegills. My record in 2 hours of fishing is 47 crappies and 6 bass. Incredible lure. Sad to see some companies charging double the normal price. Amazon should cancel their account.

When I ordered them I thought and was hopping they wouldn't be big and I was right they are approximately 1 inch long and come with descreete hooks the trout at the creek only go for this already caught 5 within 30 min trout love the white and glitter green one. I was thinking if giving it a 4 star for coming with 3 broken hooks but hey there were still 4 good ones amazing product must buy if u want the fish

I like this set. Box is smaller than it looks. hand compact. Cute bait. My son got into them and started playing with them. They do not come rigged. Has to buy jig heads for this. I tried them all out. It works for really hungry fish or need to find a place with a lot of fish. But other than just fishing with them, not much of a biting chance unless it's feeding time for the fish. But I will get another set cause they look fantastic and are capable of catching trout.

First: This is for the Trout SLAYER Kit. NOT trout magnet. Trout SLAYER. Made by the same company. Slightly different product.
My first pic shows the front of the box because for some reason the Amazon listing I saw didn't include it. My second pic is a close up of the front label which includes most of the specs.
There are EIGHT hooks. Jig heads really. Eight. One more than seven. One less than nine. For whatever reason no one seems to be able to count the hooks in the Amazon picture.
They are SIZE six. 6 is the size. (Holy hand grenade!) The kit calls them long shank hooks. My third pic shows them next to the soft plastic baits.
The jig head weight is 1/64th of an ounce. One sixty fourth.
The kit comes with 20 soft plastic crayfish. Four each of five different colors. The other kit comes with split tail grubs. I like the crayfish better myself. A little more movement in the water.
The trout waters near me are all stocked and heavily fished. My third cast ever with these and I got a small bass. I’ve caught sunnies as well, and the Pennsylvania rock bass love 'em! These also seem to get attention when other small grubs etc get nothing.
The hooks are a little bit lighter wire hooks. If you get snagged and manage to save it, just check that the hook hasn’t started to open up a little.
If you get a lot of short strikes, I took a quarter inch or so off the body of the crayfish so that the claws are a bit more next to the hook instead of behind it.
Be careful opening the box. Very slim-line. Not a lot of room to put fingers.
You can put all the hooks in one section and combine the one color of crayfish that is two to a section into one section and you’ve already got two spare sections in the box.
If you use a swivel the action will be a little different but it still works. If your swivel is too big, it may not fit in the eye of the hook. They are intended to be small, light weight.
Bottom line, I like these. I personally did not catch any trout on them but I wasn't always in trout waters and the stocked waters near me get fished out often. They got strikes when nothing else did and they caught their share of fish on a good day. No complaints here, I'm happy with this purchase!

I love these!

My local shops have the same ones in little 3 packs with 1 hook for over 2 dollars. This has an assortment of hooks and colors, and they are excellent for catching pan fish. They fall horizontally, and hit the ground claw up, as if it is a defensive position. Add a bit of crayfish scent and they are deadly.

Should call this Crappie slayer instead..didn't think much about this lure until I tried it. Crappie fishing was slow...until I tried it...cast after cast...caught 110 crappies on the wknd. 90% were on this lure...the rest was trolling a lucky bug. My best record previously was 25 crappies using the lucky bug. This lure blows the rest away..
