Questions about Wild Cat Pre-Molded Catfish Bait

How big are the pre-molded pieces about?? A dime, maybe a nickel?? I'm fishing for bullhead.. Smaller than normal catfish, but in the same family!!

How do you keep these on your hook? I use cheese cloth or my wife gives me her nylons, to keep chicken liver on my hooks. Anyone have better ideas?

Answer: I use a hair rig so it's not on my hook but sits below it if you don't know what a hair rig is Google it works great

Answer: My husband doesn’t-he keeps it in a glass jar in his fishing bag-I mean to tell you it REEKS! Cats love it.

It's really good! I would say definitely use these in areas you know catfish are because fish in our lake our picky so if I can get them, you can too. It's a little tricky getting them on some hooks, especially the bigger hooks for the catfish ironically but as long as you keep them in a cool place it'll be okay. Again KEEP IN COOL PLACE because if you leave them in the heat they start to break apart and become useless.

While I did manage to catch a few catfish on these- both channel and blue catfish- they would not stay on our single hooks no mater what we tried. Some broke in two before the hook was completely through, many just fell into pieces. We tried molding them back together but after a short time in the water they were gone. Chicken livers were staying on the hooks better, and caught several catfish to every one these caught. One bag got a bit of water into it and the whole bag turned to mushy chunks. I ended up throwing a bag and a half into the trash. If you are in slow moving water and you use treble hooks you might have better luck getting them to stay on.

Went fishing at our favorite catch and release lake for a week. We had been using cocktail sausages and catching everything, including more than two dozen catfish. Ran out of sausages and decided to try this bait while waiting for my wife to return with more sausages. I had brought it as a backup if the fish turned their noses up at the cocktail sausages. I didn't get a nibble and even left my line out, while grabbing another pole, when more sausages arrived. Continued to catch fish with the sausages, while the catfish bait was ignored. Tried off and on for several days and not a bite.
