First of all, I paid far less for this bait than I usually do at Bass Pro Shops, so that is a plus. I use these to fish in both a river and on several lakes in my area. I use it without a weight on a #3 offset worm hook. It is salt impregnated so it sinks and casts well. The action is outstanding and it is, in my opinion, the most natural crayfish imitator out there. I catch fish with this setup from late spring to early fall and consistently outfish the guys I'm with. When fish aren't hitting anything else I can put this on and will usually catch a fish or two. Like any salt-impregnated bait (Senko, etc.) it is pretty fragile. I usually can get 2 fish out of each one before I need to use a fresh one. That makes them a bit expensive to use, but the effectiveness is worth it to me.

Fish love it!
Purchased this for smallmouth bass, but have caught yellow perch and bluegills with it. Like other Yamamoto Bates it is dance for its size and you can cast it without a weight, however a small split shot gets it to the bottom faster with a tail down profile.

I receive multiple hits per cast, fish keep coming back for it. My only complaint is that since it will also attract smaller fish, they can pull off the pinchers. Really I think this is the most effective artificial bait I have ever used. It even works in lakes that do not contain crawdads.
