Kracranium : Awsome lure with one killer defect.

Ive been using rapala lure for over 25 years now. I use them for bass and most inshore species. I bought this model in chrome color size 08. Dont be fooled by the fact that this lure is made out of balsa wood, this thing casts as far as any plastic lure out there. Its amazing they could make something so light that casts this far. I use 20 pound braided line. Yesterday i went tarpon and snook fishing and tried it for the first time. The lure has an awsome movement and makes almost no splash when it lands on the water which is a big advantage when you are fishing for weary snook.

Here is the reason for the one star rating; the first mangrove branch the lure hit on a misplaced cast, the lures lip broke clean off. I inspected the part where the lip broke off and noticed that it didnt break, it just came off. There is almost no retention surface between the lip and the lure body. The lip barely goes inside the lure for retention. So, what good is a great lure that doesnt hold up under normal circumstances?

I will order the same lure again for two reasons:

1:To make a cast mold out of the new one and see if I can recreate the lost lip of the old one.

2:To give this lure a 2nd chance ( call me stuborn).

I will revise this review once I try the new one but so far it onle gets a one star from me.

私は河川でのシーバス釣りを主にしていますが、最も投げる機会の多いルアーがこのフラットラップの８cmです。
まず一番に、アクションがすばらしい。
タダ巻きでのアクションはもちろん、トゥイッチングでの平打ちは他のルアーに無いきびきびとした抜群の動きです。
第二にフローティングなので安定したレンジを引きやすいこと。
私の投げているポイントは底が浅くゴミが多く沈んでいるので、CD等のシンキングミノーですと根掛りのリスクが高いのですが、フラットラップならば安心して投げることができます。
第三に飛距離です。
さすがに移動重心の樹脂ルアーには一歩劣りますが、４０ｍ程度の距離は十分に投げられ、バルサの固定重心としては期待以上の距離が得られました。
第四に価格です。
この価格帯でこれだけ優れたルアーは他にはおそらく無いでしょう。

特にシーバス釣り初心者にお勧めできる非常に扱いやすい素晴らしいルアーです。
