Answer: I use the Storm 3" lures for redfish and speckled trout - they are fantastic. I catch more fish with these lures than any other. I prefer the pearl, bunker and shad colrs. But frankly, I have caught fish on just about every color they make. But the pearl is my go-to color.

Q:
What's the best way to fish this bait for Bass? I was thinking let it sink then pop the rod repeat until it's back on land be good or no?
Answer: You are right on
Q:
is it for saltwater or frish water .. and what is the deepth ?
Answer: I purchased this to use in fresh water, but I don't see a reason why it can't be used in saltwater as well. As far as the depth, as others have indicated, that is up to you. You can add as much weight as you like to fish it at whatever depth you prefer.
Answer: It can be for both. The action of the fish and the authenticity of the lure makes it attractive to fish of any kind. The depth is up to you. It has a excellent casting distance because it's weighted which means it sinks quite quickly so the depth is up to you in deciding when you want to start reeling in the lure after it hits the water.
Answer: i use in both, you can use different weight for desired depth, just add on the line :)
Q:
is this the price for one?
Answer: Is coming with 3 in total but I get a better deal at academy is you live here in USA you can get the same brand by more less that 5 dollars at academy.com
Answer: 3 in one
Answer: Comes 3 in a pack.
Answer: three, or five
Q:
What is the hook size?
Answer: Checked the Rapala web site and it said the WSS03 (this model) has a 1/0 hook.
Answer: I held it up side by side and it's much closer to 1/0. It's with out a doubt considerably bigger than 2 or 3.
Answer: I think it is a number 2 or 3. You can get them at your local walmart the smaller ones are for perch i think i use the next bigger one for crappie amd bass the silver with the red dot under its mouth or the darker green ones hope that helps you out
Q:
Dose this lure work good in rivers
Answer: They work well. I usually use them in quieter pools on the river, or near weed banks. My favorite color is the original Swim Shad 03 Shad.
Answer: I've found it to work best in lakes fishing around docks or bridge piers, but I have had some success in rivers.
Answer: yes,it works great , in the right time and season :)
Q:
what is the lure length?
Answer: 3 inches
Answer: They are 3" long
Answer: They measure 2-3/4”. Speckled Trout love them !!
Q:
what type of retrieve/rhythem works with this type of lure?
Answer: Depends on what type of water you're in (river or lake) but a slow steady with occasional jerks seems to work well.
Answer: That's every fisher mans Question. The answer is whatever the fish want. I have jig bounced, Reel and drop, and floated under popping cork. All have worked when the fish were there , ready and willing.
Answer: I prefer to do a few small jerks and let it drop then reel a bit. Or a slow steady reel if you've been having bites in a concentrated spot
Q:
do these really use lead for weight?
Answer: Almost if not all fishing weights and lures contain lead.
Answer: Seems like they were pretty lightweight. We cut the exterior shank of the hook off and used them as sardines as a play prop (for "Noises Off"). I don't remember anything other than the rubber fish and the hook.
Answer: They do, haven't caught a fish from it yet 2 season, Strom products to me are trash
Q:
What's the depth at different retrieval speeds?
Answer: It can go at any depth
Q:
Are these durable or does the tail come off the first time a fish bites it??
Answer: I've experienced them being very durable and don't know if I've seen a tail fall off.
Q:
I don't know anything about fishing.Do these work well for catfish? Which one would you recommend?
Answer: Catfish are bottom feeders their main diet is other dead fish your best bet is using chicken liver. make sure have a strong line because liver is a magnet to 40-50 pound cat fish! just let it sit at the bottom of the lake or channel and wait for them to find it .. you will see your line moving in just a matter of minutes
Answer: i would think its worth trying but i always thought of cat fish.. Interesting though a few years back we went to spain and there was a lake.. i took out my travel rod and use a wild eyed storm lure in firetiger color. i started catching small mout bass.. It is a good lure because it has good action but im not much into catfish habbits good luck
Q:
I don't have luck with these. I fish in very shallow rocky saltwater, any tricks?
Answer: Smaller size braided line faster retrieve
Answer: I have had good results with it. Three big soles in few minutes on the rocks I have fotos
Q:
can you catch a bass with a baby bass
Answer: Yes. Bass are opportunistic predators that will eat baby bass if they have the chance.
Answer: yes,you can :)
Q:
Is this the 5.5 inch long one?
Answer: no its 2 inch
Q:
How do you present this lure for LM Bass? Is it a simply cast and retrieve lure? Thank you!
Answer: Just cast and retrieve. I think the size may count more as well as the color. I am more a saltwater guy, but several years ago in a lake in Spain I was just casting off the shore and I was getting small mouth bass one after the other on the 1/4 ounce fire tiger color which I always use in armed waters when traveling
Answer:
Answer:
Q:
Which is the best for striped bass
Answer: Iv had a ton of luck with the shad. The grey one. 5 keepers between 20-26 inches on 3 of 5 trips here in not cal
Answer: Depends on where you are fishing. Match the baitfish in the water that you are fishing and these swimbaits will catch them.
Q:
What is the lure weight (not package weight as given in description)?
Answer: I would say 3/8 oz. could be a 1/4 oz. but seem a little heavier to me. They go a long way when cast
Q:
Does anyone know which of these lures will be promising for fishing small ponds and park lakes (fire tiger, shad, etc.)?
Answer: I use this lure on small ponds and lakes all the time. The one I have the most success with is the 3" 1/4oz Swim Shad is Shad color. That's the silver one.The other colors also work, but I have not gotten the same number of hits, on them. I think which color works best depends on the water where your fishing. If there are shiners in the pond that you fish, the shad works well. If there are other type of bait fish, then the color of the lure that most resembles that bait fish works.
Q:
Do I need to use a "skirt" with this lure to avoid getting caught in weeds?
Answer: I wouldn't use a lure like this around stuff like that, the only way to try an avoid getting snagged on thick vegetation is to use a lure that you can hide the hook just barely sticking up. so you'd want to just buy jig heads and flukes and hide the tip of the hook under the soft plastic. I don't think adding a skirt will prevent it from getting snagged on stuff in and under the water because these lures have a sinker in the head that makes them sink.
Answer: I am not an expert on skirts, but I don’t think they would help much on the wild eye swim shad as it already has the hook on the topside and the underside body of the lure is smooth anyway, and I have had no problems with it catching weeds, it just hlides over them usually
Answer: No it should be just fine.
Q:
Anglers who have been having success with these: do you typically tie right to your line or do you use a swivel/clip?
Answer: Never, ever use any hardware in fishing. I use 15lbs braid, 20 to 30 lbs flouro leader and tie a loop knot. I swim them back just under the top or slowly and small jerks deeper for snook.
Answer: When I use them alone I tie directly on. When I use them with the Yumbrella I clip them on as that's the only option. I have caught fish both ways.
Answer: I occassionally use a swivel if im being particularly lazy that day and know im gonna be flipping out different baits. But its general preferred to not ever run a swivel unless you have to. I have caught 5 or 6 fish on this lure, all small because of location and time spent fishing, and i tied on directly to the bait for those catches i belive. It shouldnt make a huge difference but a swivel handing around is just a foreign object and this bait looks pretty realistic so it kinda kills the deception imo.
Answer: I tie it directly to the lure and then always make sure the knot is positioned toward the front of the eyelet instead of on top.
Answer: Tie to the line and make sure it is tight
Q:
Which one is good for lake milton in ohio
Answer: Any one that resembles a big shad or bluegill on a umbrella rig.
Q:
Can these be attached to an umbrella rig...has anyone done this with success?
Answer: Haven't tried these on an umbrella rig but I don't see why it wouldn't be effective as long as the tail action is working.
Answer: yes, you can attach, This is a good lure for predators
Q:
Do these require a weight for a small lake?
Answer: No there is a weight already in the nose of the lure. I use these in the intracoastal waterways on the east coast of FL and they work great.
Answer: Sorry I am not one to answer that question
Answer: No, not in my experience, just make sure that your line isn’t too big...
Q:
Any good for salmon?
Answer: I have never tried these on salmon. We mostly use them in Florida waters. But Predator fish go after anything that's the target of opportunity so I don't see why Salmon wouldn't try to tear him up if given the chance. Good luck
Answer: Salmon lures are usually tinsel
Q:
What fishes can you catch with the baby bass lure?
Answer: Have caught Red Drum Spotted Weakfish in salt and LM Bass and Catfish in fresh.
Q:
how long are these things ?
Answer: about 3"long
Answer: 3&1/2 - 4 inches with a #8 hook
Answer: 3 inches
Answer: they are 3 inches
Answer: Right at 3"
Q:
does the 9" pearl come in a 3 pack as well?
Answer: I don't know. I think so.
Q:
Are these good for catfish?
Answer: Actually its normal for bass, trout etc. but catfish may also work.
Answer: I will assume that you are not a very experienced fisherman. No offense. But catfish like dead or decaying bait the best. Like worms or chicken livers or something smelly and gross like that. This bait would be more designed for bass (what i use it for) or something like that where you would use a lure.
Answer: Eehhh think they're better for pike. But the tail is kinda bulky even for that. Ppl here like using just hooks n weights for catfish.

Shanon E. : Realistic action. Good quality.
Fun to fish with. Great action. Could see it dive and wiggle it's way back to me as I reeled it in. Couldn't fish long with it as it was just the wrong lake. It kept snagging on summer weeds. But I discovered I could begin reeling sooner and keep it 12" to 16" below the surface. Lost it once but it stuck to a reed and I rescued it safely. I was tugging it free but it did not break. My line did. Fiancé was impressed with this lure I bought. Eager to fish it on a different lake when the barometer isn't falling to see what I can catch! Fun lure. Realistic. I'm optimistic. Fiancé wishes it was bigger is all. Will see how it holds up.
