is this good for fresh water

Answer: I use it in Arkansas ponds. Pulled the treble hook of the bottom to avoid snagging and bass love it during early summer fishing.

can it be used for surf fishing? how far can you cast these? what is the weight?

Answer: I would also really recommend looking the 'Savage Gear TPE 3D Shrimp Sinking Fishing Lure' up on here, the fish wreck them all day on surf fishing, highly recommend you getting some.

Answer: Also these are incredibly lifelike, the picture does no justice and it's a pack of 3 also. Would recommend these for surf fishing for sure and will continue using them off wrightsville shore from now on

Answer: Yes I used these off the shore of wrightsville beach, use a 3 oz pyramid weight. First tie on a 3 way swivel and use braided line to tie the pyramid sinker to bottom then use a steel leader on middle swivel connected to the storm wildeye minnow and it will create a lifelike swimming motion. Caught many jacks with these and even a barracuda off Johnny mercer pier.

Answer: They do not weigh much but doing the rig I said with the 3 oz pyramid and 3 way swivel will get It way far enough out there.

Answer: Don't think you can do surf casting with this, it's about 10g I think

Answer: I figured it out actually. pictures should be up use 2oz pyramid not 3 and the 30lb braided where you see the spool of it, about 6-7 inches.

Bought these for my husband for Christmas. He just removed them from the package and one was missing an eye. There was no option to start a return with this item as it was purchased November/December. Hopefully the other two work well enough to make up for the defective one. He's just waiting on warmer weather to test them out.

I used this lure on Nov 4, 2015 for the first time. I caught 2 (22") striper bass within the first half hour, and then caught 2 more stripers about four hours later on the Potomac River. This lure definitely works if the bass are chasing minnows on the day you're fishing. I took off the treble hook, because I felt that the lure swam better without it. I highly recommend this lure to be part of your collection.

This lure works great on medium murky fresh waters. Try retrieving it slowly (early in the morning or late in the afternoon). I have caught so many bass with this little fella. By far a champion. A must have for your tackle box!!
