Product reviews of Airhead 20" (51cm) Diameter Buoy
Katie H : Very visible
I used two buoys to mark the "finish line" of a lake swim. They worked really well and were very visible. I am not sure how sturdy the handles are. It may be a weak spot.
Papadon : Four Stars
Handy inflatable buoy
Steffani A. Smith : Inconsistency in size and not holding up in high heat
Inconsistency in size and may not hold up in high heat (water temps up to 97 and outside temps up to 115). Had for a month before one got a hole.
E. Scott : This makes a great horse toy
Not what it was made for, but my young horse loves to play with it. She bites, and kicks at the bouy. Even the mesquite thorns in the pasture have not popped it. This is one tough toy.
Olivier Renaud : As expected
Fast shipping, good quality.
Rick G : Fast shipping. Heavy enough for what I use them for
Use for finding crab buoy in rough water
Dodie : Five Stars
A great device for finding your jet-ski.
Wade Abbott : Five Stars
Very nice!
Shawn Connell : used these for buoys. It is a hoppity hop ...
used these for buoys. It is a hoppity hop. Only had them in the water for a few days but so far they've worked perfectly.
Mike Rak : Bought a few of these and blew 2 of them ...
Bought a few of these and blew 2 of them up and 2 days later found a very small on the seam of the handle. Too late to return I guess.
George R. Hallenbeck : Five Stars
Worked perfectly after I figured out how to inflate.
ShutterFlash : Durable and Affordable
I used this to hold up a leaf net that we stretched over our swimming pool in Atlanta. It remained inflated all winter and prevented the leaf-laden net from sinking in the water. It worked so well, we bought two more to add to the pool next fall.
Haretoe : No way to inflate the buoy
Total waste of money. Tried two different air compressors and foot pump, but none of the needles could penetrate the chamber to inflate the buoy. Defective. Now too late to return.
JMN : Durability
Use on lake to mark swimming area. Last one year
Robert M. Seiden : We have a model yacht race course set out on ...
We have a model yacht race course set out on the lake in our retirement Community. We use these as the far turning marks on our course. They are in the water from November through March and have held up remarkably well.
Jim : DEFECTIVE BUOY- BUYER BEWARE
Ordered Buoy in December for use in Summer 2020-
Kept in package Buoy arrived in at normal house temperatures until
today- 5/4/2020
Buoy is stuck together and UNUSEABLE...…… BUYER EWARE- Defective product
J. Turnipseed : great service. Plug system works ok once you understand ...
Buoy has strange hard plastic plug that has to be removed to inflate. I had never seen before and there were no instruction, so I called supplier. Representative made four phone calls to others to help me out....great service. Plug system works ok once you understand it!
Newfluvr : Don't buy. Mystery needle size.
Bent two needles trying to force them in to inflate. Doesn't tell you what kind of needle to use. I have several for everything from basketballs to boats, none of them fit. You would think a one off needle size requirement would necessitate a reference. Also, not a solid handle. Hollow, so don't expect this POS to last.
Finally, the white valve with the hole on the bottom, isn't a valve, IT'S A PLUG! Pull it off and no needle needed, there's just an open hole. Fill it up and put the plug back in. For the frustration and the cheap handle, it still gets a single star.
Robin B. Leary : Can't inflate it. Valve is too long for standard inflation needles.
Just as my headline says. Requires purchase of an extra-long needle. The only ones I've seen are in compressor inflation kits that cost $10 or more. This product should INCLUDE a needle, or at least a link to purchase one.

Olivier Renaud : As expected
Fast shipping, good quality.
Ellen Clark : Need to know
Product seems high quality and what I needed, however, to inflate the buoy one needs a special adapter which is never specified in any of the descriptions. Had to order separately at a 7 dollar additional charge.
Amazon Customer : Five Stars
Works great for my prawn traps. Better than I thought for a fraction of the price of other bouys.
Haretoe : No way to inflate the buoy
Total waste of money. Tried two different air compressors and foot pump, but none of the needles could penetrate the chamber to inflate the buoy. Defective. Now too late to return.
Doris A. : Five Stars
Nice product.
West Coast Surf Mama : Kids Hopper Quality
Basically the same thing as a kids hopper ball (which you can get here for less.) I thought it would be a little better quality, but the ball is no tougher than an exercise ball, and the handle is hollow and floppy. Not the quality I was expecting for something labeled "buoy." I ordered this to use as a swim buoy for open-water swimming. It works, as long as you don't put much tension on the handle, which would definitely destroy it.
Dodie : Five Stars
A great device for finding your jet-ski.
Sinclair : Worked Great! Clearly not their original purpose, and sizes can be a bit inconsistent. Otherwise great product.
This is obviously a hop-a-long kids toy from the 70's or 80's relabeled as a buoy. However, it works great as a buoy. My only complaint is that they seem to tend to send different sizes. This didn't matter to us much,as we just needed a channel marked in the water for emergency services. If the potentially inconsistent sizes don't matter to you, it is a great product. Good idea to relabel these from their original purpose.
Anna Spray : Easy to inflate
I had to laugh at the reviews that said how difficult it is to inflate these bouys! You remove the white plug and use any inflation device you have. Piece of cake! Very excited to use these to keep high speed boaters away from our swim area.
