Questions about Acme Phoebe Spinning Lure
Q:
Which color of these do you think works the best?
Answer: The silver or gold works best for me!
Answer: I use silver and gold. I'm unfamiliar with the multicolored lure.
Answer: It depends on different circumstances, species of fish targeted, water clarity, etc. you can't go wrong with the gold. I have caught just about every freshwater species with it. When I first started fishing as a child in the 70's they didn't have all these color options pretty much just gold or silver and gold was the go to. I recommend buying the gold, trying it and going from there.
Answer: Solid gold one. I have used the rainbow and brown trout but haven't had as many strikes as the "plain gold one."
Answer: Gold is the tried and true option for most species and conditions I fish.
Q:
does this lure have a hook
Answer: yes treble hook
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
I know this sounds stupid but the picture dosent show the hooks. Does it come with Hooks?
Answer: Yes,a treble hook!
Answer: Yes it does
Q:
Where these lures are made in? I saw on description, manufactured in china. Is it mistake or truth?
Q:
Do you have to use a swivel tied directly to the lure or up 12-18 inches of leader?
Answer: I use it with the swivel tied directly to the lure. Always have great success with this lure.
Answer: I have had good luck tied directly.
Answer: Either way is good in a river, but when I'm in a pond trolling I like to use a leader of 2 to 3 feet...!
Answer: You'll get better action with a swivel. I also added a split ring to ease lure changes.

When I buy a phoebe lure generally there is a swivel that comes on it. Can you tell me what brand/kind of swivel it is that comes on a size 1/12oz
Answer: I don't know... I use a small one... on all of'em.
Q:
i need the biggest size they make of these phoebe trout lures, is this 1/6oz the biggest?
Product reviews of Acme Phoebe Spinning Lure
Kindle Customer : Five Stars
Good
Robert Lee Hughes : Five Stars
One of the best lures I have ever used. It catches everything.
Charles Milliken : The Copper Phoebe in 1/4 ounce is a Trout Magnet.
I started using Phoebe Spoons back in the early 1960's, for Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout in New England.
The absolute killer color back then was "Copper", the Gold and Silver were highly effective, but "Copper" was usually a strike, near miss, or follow, every cast, year round.
The problem back then was, the fishing shops, only ordered around 6ea. "Copper" for every 100ea. Gold and Silver.
Just, the other day, I went Off Season "Catch and Release" Trout Fishing after 35 years of living in places, that had no trout fishing.
I started by Fly Fishing nymphs, and was highly successful, with 12ea. C&R's of 12in. to 18in. Browns, over an hour or so.
Then I got my Spinning Rod out, to try some Spoons for Rainbows, the first lure I put on was a 1960's Phoebe "Copper", that had been carrying around in its original packaging since back then.
I actually hooked, so many Rainbows and Brook Trout, I lost count, every single cast I got a take.
After the first few, I bent the barbs down on the treble hook, so could just flip them off the hook, instead of touching them with my hands, or netting them.
Kim Callahan : Love to Trout fish and these are great on Brownies ...
Love to Trout fish and these are great on Brownies and Rainbows. I attach my line directly to the spoon and do not use a split-ring. The action is excellent.

Redfish : Fast shipping
As described, and arrived fast.
William Watson : wrong one
I asked for the Metallic Perch I received the Fighting Tiger lure! They were marked Wrong! I was hoping to use this lure in a trout tournament.
