Fred Anonymous Smith : Horrible Smell
Useful design, but these things have a strong, petroleum-like, odor somewhat similar to, though not exactly the same as, cheap recycled motor oil or axle grease. I can't really identify the smell, but it's strong enough to stink up my entire tackle box and a good part of the room surrounding it. I washed each with dish soap, followed by soaking overnight in vinegar, to no avail. The horrible smell remains - and if fish get a whiff of it, they'll likely quickly swim the other way. I'm now soaking the items in a bath of 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol (kill one strong smell with another). If that doesn't work, they're going straight into the trash (outside the house).
