What size hook should I be using with this?

Answer: I use #2 hook usually 1/8 ounce weight. I like prefer lighter the better.Just enough weigh to make good casts and retrieves The slower a bait falls more fish will react to it. Sometime lighter I don't get hung as much on the bottom.

Answer: These are small, about 4" long, so anything from 3/0 to 5/0 would be too big. I use a 1/4 Oz jighead to rig these on an umbrella rig.

Answer: The sizes vary from 3in 4in 5in and maybe bigger.but its a alsome bait to work in shallow water lily pads grass and brush.

Could I use these for drop shot?

Answer: Possibly but a little questionable as this lure is primarilay retrieved horizontally as opposed to drop shot (mostly vertically). I will never say never, who knows it could work. Good luck.

I gave this a 4 our of 5 for the one personal reason. The lake I fish in, doesn't seem to make this lure stand out. The lure has a good weight to it and casts wonderfully but from someone who tries to stay above the water level, all the parts that might attract a fish are only on the upper side. Saying that, what do I know? I'm not a bass that will seemingly bite on anything that swims past its mouth.....

As said, the swimming action is good; the weight and build can't be faulted. It's just not for the darker waters of the lake I fish in.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Great durability, action, and a versatile lure.
You can use these as a swimbait or a dropshot bait (I recommend "filetting" off one of the rear fins down to a point to get more action for this technique).
Good amount of flash when retrieved, and they really do make a convincing baitfish imitation in my area.

Love the color, caught 2 bass at a TOUGH fishing hole first time using them. Landed a 10" largemouth and a 3 lb smallmouth within about an hour. Fished an overfished spring-fed river littered with crawfish, perch and minnows; yet, still landed a pair. Durability was good until the big one chomped down and bent my undersized hook.

Just what you need when the fish get a little picky, I put 1/8 oz jig head so the larger fish will swallow whole bait. This baby bass jr. is about inch shorter also you will end up catching more of smaller fish.
It only hurts a little in overall casting distance but makes up in catching more fish.
