Questions about RESTCLOUD Fishing Landing Net with Telescoping Pole Handle, Fishing net Freshwater for Kids Men Women, Extend to 40-63 Inches
Q:
Would this be a good idea for snakehead fishing?
Answer: Stay far away, biggest piece of junk I've ever purchased
Q:
Why the handle is made of such a cheap metal that it snaps off at a slightest load?
Answer: Our handle broke the very first use and left a sharp dangerous, jagged metal edge. This was one of my most disappointing purchases ever and my kids were sad because they were excited about them. Total garbage!
Answer: The handle on the one I got is much stronger than I expected
Answer: I haven’t had this problem.
Q:
We got this net, can’t figure out how to collapse it once it’s open?
Answer: I couldn't figure out how to collapse it either, then I realized I was trying to collapse it in the wrong direction. You pull the ribbed notch at the base of the net down, then fold the net BACKWARDS. It collapses right down.
Answer: there are two ribbed/notched silver 'things' right where the net rods met the handle. you have to squeeze them and fold the rods down. it is a little confusing at first, it took me a minute to get it. (i cannot attach a photo, it seems). good luck and Merry Christmas!
Answer: you have to release the locking mechanism located at the base of the net.
Answer: There's a clip that slides down.
Q:
Is the width in inches or centimeters?
Answer: Basket width is 16 inches for both steel and aluminum handles. Nice net for the price, although I recommend steel over aluminum for durability. .Handles all panfish up to medium size bass nicely. Jumbo bass and medium pike are a stretch.
Answer: Piece of junk! Has a nice long extension but if you land anything with weight it will rip and bend the aluminum.
Answer: It’s both
Q:
I cannot get it to stay closed until needed. It flops open when hanging which makes it unusable. Can you help?
Answer: I have arthritis in my hands. The metal "button" on my unit that is used to open and close the head was impossible for me to manipulate. Don't know if this actually helps with your issue or not.
Answer: I have mine strapped to my fishing bag. That works for me.
Q:
Is the net material made from nylon? or will resist a little heat, or melt ?
Answer: Yes, the net is made from nylon, it will not melt.
Answer: Yes it is made of nylon
Q:
What is the shortest length for packing for both (stainless) the 32" version and 34" version?
Answer: In my opinion the shortest length fo pack both the 32” and 34” version of the fishing nets should be no shorter than 40”. Room would be needed for packing materials.
Answer: This net is easy to pack. It folds down to about 17" in length and about 4" wide.
Q:
Does this come with a case
Answer: This fishing net does not come with a carry case.
Answer: No, but it folds up into a small object
Q:
what country was it made in
Answer: China
Q:
Is the "Super Strong Aluminum" version only made in the 61" or are the shorter versions just out of stock?
Answer: Hi "Super Strong Aluminum" version is only made in the 61".
Q:
what is the size of the mesh hole? small enough to also catch flying insect bait?
Answer: The mesh hole is 1/5 inches.
Answer: I do not know the measurement but it is small enough to catch insects
Answer: About 1/4 inch six sided. It should work
Q:
Is this net suitable for catching sand crabs (sand fleas) at the beach for barred perch bait?
Answer: Hello, the fishing net is suitable for catching sand crabs.
Answer: the net material is has a small weave fine for catching baitfish, but the handle is hollow and broke on our first use catching freshwater sunfish of only a pound.
Answer: Not a fisherman, so really don't know. I guess it would do what you want, but that's a gusess.
Q:
Can it handle a 20lbs cat
Answer: No, it cannot. 20lbs cat is too heavy. ASIN B086QTHN3Q is suitable to catch such heavy cat. If everything is going well, it will stock in 2 weeks.
Answer: The net is a soft mesh and I wouldn't try to land anything that heavy with it.
Answer: Never...it broke when my daughter used first time for a couple minnie
Answer: I doubt it, it's pretty cheap made
Answer: No, mine broke first time I used it
Answer: I never tested it but I would think so!
Q:
For the 43" ss net, is the handle 43" or is the net 43" total? How is the net total handle and basket?
Answer: The telescopic handle extends from 18" to 32", total handle with hoop expend to 43 inches. Hoop Length is 16", Depth is 12".
Answer: I don't know the answer to your question because it broke 1st try. I really wanted it to work and ignored the reviews.
Q:
Is this big enough to capture adult chickens? is the handle too short? the premier 1 trapnet has a telescoping pole that extends from 32" to 72".
Answer: As for this Super Strong Aluminum Handle Fishing net, the following is the details,
Answer: Well it telescopes out a long ways I was actually pretty impressed you would just have to look at the dimensions of the net I could catch one of my adults but I guess it depends on what breed of chicken you have mine are not large breeds
Answer: I bought it because of a Bat problem. Which I have not the had the pleasure of using it for yet!!! I will say its not a real sturdy and strong piece. Perfect for bats, birds and small fish. Might want to get something with a little more quality to it for chickens.
Answer: Yes, it’s big, handle can short can long
Answer: No too small and does not extend
Answer: I do not recommend these for chickens
Answer: Maybe I’m using it for fish

Q:
Has anyone tried the aircraft-grade (option h) handle? i have ordered the stainless steel handle, but always looking for a good frog catching net.
Answer: Dear Customer,
Answer: I use it catch fish in my goldfish pond. It works great. It is also great for cleaning leaves and debris out of the pond.
Q:
is the net rubber or nylon? what is the net size and depth?
Answer: This net is nylon, Hoop Length is 16 inches, Bag Depth is 12 inches.
Answer: Definitely not rubber, so nylon. About 12” x 15” triangle frame & at least 12” deep.
Answer: Nylon - not sure on the size. Large enough for most fish
Q:
Is the net perimeter made out of aluminum as well or is it plastic?
Answer: 2/3 of the perimeter is aluminum but the front 1/3 is plastic tubing. The plastic tubing on the two nets I purchased did not last long and snapped.
Answer: Dear Customer.
Answer: It's metal on the sides and a plastic rope like material across the front. The "aluminum" part is just the handle and it's super thin, held together with cheap plastic.. broke on me immediately.. also, I've never had aluminium leave black smears on my hands.. this does.. it leaves marks on everything it touches, just like lead does..
Q:
Will it hold a 2 or3 pound fish?
Answer: Yes, I have handled 3 pound bass in them
Answer: Haven't put one in it yet but from its construction I don't think that would a problem at all.
Answer: Yes easily
Q:
What are the net dimensions?
Answer: All sides of the triangle are close to 16” and from end to end is 48”
Q:
Will this net hold 15 pound 30 inch trout from Montana?
Answer: No, I doubt it. I used for catching blue crabs. This net is very flimsy.
Product reviews of RESTCLOUD Fishing Landing Net with Telescoping Pole Handle, Fishing net Freshwater for Kids Men Women, Extend to 40-63 Inches
JQ : Slow in the Water
3 stars because it is very easy to fold up, convenient, and very lightweight. Not 5 stars because unless you’re planning on slowly catching a fish smaller than your pinky nail or raking some leaves from your pool, it really won’t work for any quick-paced fishing or crabbing.
So, good for slow leisurely usage. Not good for fishing or crabbing.
Rob Varney : needs to be stronger!!
When I received the net I was pretty excited, as I loved that it was so compact! First day out on the lake and was playing around catching little bluegill and it just broke in half.. I think the secret is not to extend it out. But then why buy this on, right? Just buy one that is sturdier and doesn't extend out. Great Idea but they went short on the stick part of the handle
crystal winebarger : Broken on arrival
The net itself is supported by two metal thin bars and a rubber coated piece of wire that extends when you extend the Nets. My handle was bent upon delivery in two different places and I wasn't able to extend the handle. I had anticipated taking this on the fishing trip, thinking I got a great deal, unfortunately I did not.
H. Wood : Strong!
Sturdy but lightweight net, bought for gushing but has also been used to catch a frantic pigeon and move it out of the shed. Delivery was very fast.
SG review : 7 year old lives it
Updated review:
I bought a net for my 7 year old son and after few uses it broke. I reordered a new net and it has been great! The first net was most likely faulty. My son has been fishing every day in the ocean and was able to catch little fish and or crabs! He loves it!!
Rita : Good for Kids to play
I got this for my daughter and if you take it to the beach and the sand got into the folding mechanism and now it became very hard to fold (so we leave it unfolded). I also had to put one screw myself because it was getting loose.
Overall it is a good product but quite overpriced for the value.
GT : Catch small fish
Broke the first day using it. Not heavy-duty at all. So if your catching fish they better be small ones. Lol
One pro was it folded up nice and compact.
GSLady : Folding feature not a plus
I was so excited to have this net for teaching about pond bugs. I thought the folding feature would be a big plus. The part of the ring that folds broke in the very first class! When I got home, I rethreaded the net in the hoop and duct-taped the hoop back together. I wasn't fishing with this, so nothing was heavy at all. The fix seems to be holding. Now the net doesn't want to fold. Something in the mechanism is corroded. I air it out after each use. (A test of the area and 3 classes) I have had the net only 2 months! I wouldn't buy this again.
Amazon Customer : That a 9nyear old boy likes it more than his bike and that’s saying something.
Imagine being eight and moving into a new house with your 10 year old brother and you discover a park with a pond that has fish, turtles, frogs. When Papa arrived to visit his first question was “Papa do you have a fish net” no but interesting question. Got home Amazon and Restcloud recommendations to the rescue. The rest is history except the two catch and release frogs so far.Very Highly recommend this product Light weight, easy fold, solid enough, for 8 to well, any age.
Shoppin Momma : Flimsy and reals of chemicals
I purchased this for my young son to take fishing . It is a good weight and folds ok, but it doesn’t stay very tidy. When the net first arrived the whole package smelled so strongly of chemicals. I will be returning this net due to that reason mostly, we did not try it out because I didn’t want that( potentially toxic ) smelling net to harm the fish. The parts also seem flimsy and plastic.
Leighj : Good quality
Nice net
TeeCee : You get what you pay for.......
Seems ok quality, but does not extend to 50" was expecting a little longer pole on the net. Well, used this net one time, piece of junk. Some of the strands in the net broke and the pole will bend if it holds anything larger or heavier than a fart. Please save up a little more money and buy a quality product that will hold up. Cheaply made...
George H. Edwards : Lasted only 4 months before cheap aluminum handle broke in half. Don’t buy unless for an aquarium.
Purchased this 4 months ago for picking up leaves in my pond and today, it just broke in half. I should have known that the telescopic thin aluminum pole would not be able to handle the weight of wet leaves but to just break in half? Now, I’ve duct-taped it back together and will just have use it for very light load. In short, don’t buy pond/fish nets with cheap aluminum poles made in China. On the bright side, I hope the Chinese used the same poor quality aluminum on their fighter jets & warships ;-)
Pam : Best
We have had other collapsible nets that broke sometimes on first use. The net has metal joints where the others we have tried were plastic. These 2 nets have preformed very well during use and show no signs of failing. Very light weight and the collapsible handle is a plus.
Brother Bill : It's a good net
I was concerned about the size when ordering. But it's actually a good size. I only used it once so four stars for sturdiness because I don't know how long it will last. I ordered the stainless steel handle so hopefully it will last long.
noname12 : Excellent net!
I need this net to care for the many little goldfish in my outdoor pond. The design of the net is very helpful, and the mesh is fine enough so that very small fish are gently captured. The net is still new, so I can't comment on durability, but I am optimistic.
Amazon Customer : Do Not Waste Your Money
Within thirty minutes of using the "metal" handle snapped and broke. Nothing heavy was inside the net. My twelve year old grandson was using it in the lake and it just broke off. Waste of $$ even though it was an "Amazon Choice".
Dennis Broussard : A happy little family!
I was so happy to find the convenience of the aluminum net I purchased. We were actually needing it for a totally unethical reason but it was perfect for us. Not to mention an excellent price and the coolest thing to extend or retract. We have miniature donkeys and while feeding them hay, the wind would blow it into their water trough! We had 2 other nets before this one but they found them leaning near their trough and chewed the netting. I was searching Amazon for a replacement net that had a fine mesh on it. Well, lo and behold I came across this sweet little bargain. My husband now has it hanging on a nail in their loafing shed where they can't reach it! We are happy about it! Thank you!

jkrispies : Folds Well, Extends to a Good Length
This folds up relatively small and extends out to a good length. I would warn that while it folds down to a convenient size, it's still a bit too large to fit into my tacklebox, which I think is a pretty "normal" size. I guess a hardcore fisherman might have a hardcore box that's larger than mine, but for the typical once-a-year fisherman like me, it will have to be carried outside the box.

Denise Sanders : Looks awesome!
Haven't had the chance to use it yet, but it looks like it should be a good net. I purchased as a gift for my husband and he hasn't been fishing yet, but when we do, we will be able to tell how well it stands up to an actual fish in the net! But it folds up so nicely and fits in the tackle box I purchased, having a folding net is so much nicer than taking a big one with you. When we get a chance to use it, I will revisit and post an update!
Nghi v tran : Not a very sturdy net! broke on the first time i tried but the seller is amazing to replace
Overall i gave a 3 stars rate just because the seller is very good to replace a much better net , which is a very good net! But this net was broken in half right on the first time i used it . Very disppointed! but commend the seller.

Kathy N. : Waste of money. Pole broke easily.
Broke the first time we used it. Only had a tiny fish in it and it bent. We tried to bend it back and it snapped. Definitely didn't hold the weight it said it would. My 10 year old son bought this with his own money- too bad.
Bunny : very useful
So far I've used the net to catch invasive goldfish out of a pond and to catch crawfish (also invasive for my area) out of a lake. The net is light enough to maneuver but not so light that it bends. I really like the small mesh of the net itself. My only issue was figuring out which way to push the button to fold it back up at first.
edit June 12th: after less than 2 weeks it broke. wasn't rough with it but the handle snapped
Aanubabu : Stuck, otherwise very light/sturdy fishing net.
I recently used this fishing net in Boundary Waters, MN. It worked well during my seven-day fishing/canoeing trip. I left it unfolded in the canoe and just grabbed it and used it when I needed it. However, when it was time to pack up and fly back home, I had hard time folding it back. I had to use a pointed stone to hammer and push the slide button so that I could fold it. I am planning to use some WD40 and see if that works. Other than that, it worked very well for seven days of fishing. Update 7/10/21: The seller contacted me and offer a replacement, not that I needed it. I am impressed with the service and the newer net.
Alex D : Seemed great, but is pretty delicate when extended
So, my initial review upon receiving the net was five stars, as I had reviewed when the item came and seller requested a review via email. Unfortunately, on using it for the first time, the net broke, so I'm amending my review. I still think this is a decent net, especially for the money, but only for gently guiding smaller fish out of the water when they've been caught. I did take it out for crabbing, and it worked well - big enough to scoop up a blue crab, but small enough not to be unwieldy. However, as we were waiting for crabs to start biting the bait, I tried to catch a few schooling baitfish by holding the net underwater and quickly scooping the fish up as they swam over. The weight of the water from trying to move the net that quickly while fully extended was too much for the handle, and it snapped at a connection point. I managed to push the handle in and screw it back together well enough to use for the rest of the morning, but it was a huge bummer. If you do buy this net, I'd advise that it is stronger when the two separate extending parts are not fully extended. You miss out on a bit of reach, but it's much less of a risk.
The good thing is, everything else about my initial review holds true. This net folds and fits perfectly in the side pocket of my bag, and genuinely weighs next to nothing. It does extend quite far, allowing for a lot of reach doing things like crabbing. I hope to see if I can take it apart and fix it.
CatMc : Not good for kids in shallow water.
Broke almost immediately. Only good for scooping up a hooked fish on line in deep water. Not good for catching things in shallow water, like small creek fish, crayfish or frogs at the edge of a pond because the end of the net is too fragile to withstand scooping against rocks, sticks, ground, etc. I would not recommend this for kids.
DS longtime reader : Very sturdy
I ordered this to net the algae in a large pond in our backyard. The net is very sturdy and easy to maneuver in the water. The angled edges make it easier to get into the smaller spaces among the rocks. I didn't realize that the front of the net doesn't actually have a frame to it, just the sides do, but it seems to work just fine. The handle extends to various sizes, which is a great feature when I'm in areas that are tight with shrubs at the edges of the pond. I can collapse the handle so it doesn't get stuck in the bushes.
Matthew : Fishing Net
When I first took the product out of the package I thought this was going to be junk. But it is working just fine. I have been scooping up good sized catfish without worry. It will not most likely handle a trophy cat but who knows! Well worth the money!
noname12 : Excellent net!

dalia diaz : It works for my Dad
My dad is tarting fishing so he does not have alot of Fishing gear. After taking him out a few times, we realized we needed a fishing net. Not something extravagant but something my Dad who is 80 can handle. I did some research and bought the RESTCLOUD and surprised my dad on the last fishing trip. He was happy. Easy to unfold and sturdy enough to bring in the fish and loved that is could extend and fold back in.
This is the second small business vendor I have used on this site rather than a chain store and I have not been disappointed with the products. The products are well made, good prices and with Amazon, east to get to us and we love supporting small businesses.
Notrozer : Better than the reviews
I read other reviews and belive people have this wrong... Its not the strongest net in the world because its a folding net. I use it to catch my chickens when i need to move them from one coop to another.. This net has been great investment fort the price point that it exist in...

Hamburger King of 9Th Street : See update......... Great design, convenient but a bit too flimsy
Customer service reached out concerning the broken net. I had already purchased another one, same Restclould Net as I was hoping I just had bad luck. Customer service sent me the stronger net, which is the same great design but a lot stronger materials. The new net is much better for my son, he is having a ball catching frogs and fish... even a snapping turtle. I've had no issues with the net I purchased as a replacement but he prefers the stronger built net.
I would recommend either but spend a couple dollars more for the stronger version, you won't regret it. Great company to deal with.
Old review
I have to admit.... I’m disappointed. Perhaps I received a dud but the top pole for the net broke after a day.
I really liked the design and that the net was so portable. Bought it for my 11 year old to catch frogs at the pond. Nothing big or heavy. He had the pole extended all the way and it snapped at the connection for the telescoping.
Very light weight and great design. Just needs to be a bit stronger. The broken net ended our fun.
Christopher Anderson : Be wary of the shoddy quality
This broke before we could even use it. We extended the handle and it simple snapped off. Very cheap item. Returning them soon.
By CJs Pirate : Good Catch
My fishing luck hasn't been so good that I even needed a net. However, I bought myself a kayak and I'll be able to fish places I couldn't walk to. My hopes are high for both the fishing and netting.
I do have a note of importance to new buyers. There's a small zip tie holding the net to the base of the net. Don't do like I did and snip it off thinking it was put there just for shipping. That little piece of plastic has a reason to exist.
Happy Fishing, amigos!

Becca : Harms fish you need to release, waste of money
I am new to fishing and needed to buy a net, so I bought this one because it was inexpensive and highly rated.
Now, as I learn to fish, I've learned that most departments of fish and wildlife recommend you use cotton or rubber nets for fishing. That's because sometimes, you're going to have to throw a fish back. It could happen if it isn't the type you were angling for, or doesn't meet a requirement that places it as fair game. For example, if you're fishing in Oregon and catch an endangered bull trout, you should both legally and ethically return it to water unharmed. But this net will harm them, because (I think) it's nylon.
IS IT nylon? Who knows?!? The product description doesn't say. It tells you all about the handle, and yet leaves out the most important information, the material the net is made out of. Yet it claims it's great for catch and release. However, now that I know that a catch and release net should be cotton or rubber, I realize that this IS NOT a good net for catch and release.
Please make no mistake, I am not catch and release fishing. I cook what I catch. But I will need to throw some back, and I do care about the environment and ecosystem, so I will need to buy a new net. I am also reporting this product for an inaccurate product description. It should not claim it's good for catch and release unless it's cotton or rubber netting.

Rose Reed : Multiple use product
I bought this product to use for snagging bats that somehow make their way into my home. My neighbor always brings his very large net to use and I got tired of having to call for help. Honestly...and thankfully, since I bought the net I haven't had an intrusion again. I'll be more than happy if this product is my good luck charm and I don't encounter any more of those pesky little creatures!
Jefflyn Woodley : Telescoping handle screws down to keep it at the size you want.
As an avid fisherwoman. I can imagine catching a big ole red. My advice on this net is to have it open in the lock pisition before ever hooking a fish. I use a kayak and an open net is cumberson. I do have straps on kayak to where i can put an open net. If you catch a fish and then try to open you are gonna be in for a struggle as opening is a two hand operation. Unless you have someone who can help. The feature i do like is it is folding. The handle screws together to keep from telescoping. And this is a nice net. I am going to the coast in Oct and hopefully will be able to net a large fish.????????
Amber B. : Not very durable but a nice net for smaller catches
The idea of this is so great. The actual product felt like and sounded like it was going to break with a seven pound catfish in it this weekend. It statutes to bend and make a noise like it was going to break. After we got the fish out the net would not go back on the ends to keep it open it was just sliding down and not opening up to help with bringing in the other fish. The folding aspect is perfect for on the kiak and not taking up room or loosing it because it drags in the water and gets pulled in. It’s easy enough to fold out and fold back but I think I have to put a couple stitches on it to keep the net in place so it’s ready to assist in my next big catch. :)
Clo : Do not buy.
It is true it's compact and easy to carry around, but it's junk. First fish I caught got tangle in the net by trashing around, took a few minutes to release it. Second fish I caught the hook got stuck to the net by the eye even if most of it was in the fish mouth. After one use the hoop already don't click in position properly. Obviously the handle is bad quality and will break soon. Now the regular price for this net is nearly $25 I got it for $11 and I feel scammed. Do not believe that you are going to get a good deal because the price is down. Complete waste of money.
Ed : Good net for the price
I have used both the aluminum and stainless steel nets and agree with most people in saying the aluminum net is a bit flimsy when going for fish heavier than 3lbs when fully extended. On the other hand, i have not had any issues with the stainless steel net. I have netted some descent size bass and trophy trouts and its been working great. I also love the fact that its collapsable as i hike to several of my fishing spots.
For the price, i think that it is definitely worth a try!
Leighj : Good quality
Nice net
