Questions about PLUSINNO Fishing Net Fish Landing Net, Foldable Collapsible Telescopic Pole Handle, Durable Nylon Material Mesh, Safe Fish Catching or Releasing
Q:
Would the net work for catching yard chickens when they escape?
Answer: OK for small chickens. But I'm afraid it is a little bit tiny for heavy chickens.
Answer: Yes, that is what I use it for. It is perfect for that.
Q:
How to fold once opened?
Answer: 1.Push the botten downside.
Answer: We own a VERY similar model, and figured out we had to slightly telescope the handle out a bit to be able to pull the lock down enough to be able to fold the net arms up and collapse them.
Q:
Would this be able to be used to net salmon up in paluski ny? they vary from 15-30 lbs there.
Answer: no, not big enough nets and not strong enough
Answer: No, not big enough. I've fished in Pulaski for 30 years.
Q:
Is net good for crabbing?
Answer: I can see no reason why not. It's not a huge net, so Alaskan King Crab would be out of the question ???? but it would be fine for any crab I've seen pulled from a jetty!
Q:
Does the net float in the water?
Answer: Yes, the net is rather lightweight.
Answer: Just lost mine 3 days ago...It sinks like rock, You need to add a bright Florissant float to the end or a 3 to 4" colorful piece of foam around handle part.
Answer: LOL.. how "light" something is has nothing to do with if it floats? How "light" is a battleship? It floats.. It has to do with the objects buoyancy.
Answer: Probably since it is fairly light.
Q:
Does anyone know how much weight it can handle?
Answer: I ordered this because a reviewer stated it could handle a 25 - 40 lb catfish which is what I fish for. This net is 12" at the widest point and10" long. Only 9" deep. No possible way a 20 - 40 lb catfish even fits in this net.
Answer: I used the net the other day for 25-40 lb catfish and it worked great with no problems.
Q:
Can this be used to catch butterflies?
Answer: I'm afraid this is little bit heavy and big for catching butterflies.
Q:
What is the total carrying weight?
Answer: About 10lb dear.
Q:
Would the holes be too big to dip minnows?
Answer: I think the holes are too big.
Answer: It would work for smelts or minnows.
Q:
How long is it?
Answer: The smaller one is 27.5inch and the larger one is 31.5-38inch.
Answer: About three feet I would spend the extra money and get a longer handle
Q:
Is there a replacement net for this one i had a big trout bust threw the side of mine
Answer: Google the company and send a contact message, the customer service is good I hear ...
Q:
When will you guys have the 23.5" one in stock again?
Answer: Hello Christina, there is one left and you can order. Please check it out.
Q:
can you land 40 pounds or bigger with this?
Answer: Its not that big ...so no I would say 15 pounds at best
Q:
Is this net trout safe?
Answer: I see no reason it couldn't be used for trout, I plan to use it for speckled trout and fish up to about 10lbs.
Q:
Will it rust? Need a salt water bait net!
Answer: Should be fine for that. Everything is painted or plastic.
Q:
When will you guys have the 23.5" in stock?
Answer: July 20
Q:
cat retrieving net
Answer: I don't know if they sell nets to retrieve cats; only fish.
Q:
Is this safe for catch and release, will the netting harm the fish scales?
Answer: I use mine for catch and release for trout and seems to work out just fine.
Q:
How many feet is the fishing net
Answer: I believe it is 5 feet
Q:
Before folding: How wide is net at far end away from handle?
Answer: 13 to 15 inches.
Q:
Would this net be good for toothy fish? Want it mostly for Mackerel
Answer: Honestly I do not know for sure. We have only used it for bass and catfish in our area.
Q:
how far can the handle extend
Answer: About 7''.
Q:
What is the length when it is folded down?
Answer: 17 inches length and wide 4 I hope this helps.
Answer: 17"
Q:
How much do hooks get stuck in it? Im looking for a canoe net where hooks dont get stuck
Answer: I think there's a distinction between hooks getting hooked on the net and stuck in the net. Almost every net, this one included, will have hooks getting hooked on the net. But they are easily removed and the barbs don't get stuck. The meshing is thick strips of plastic. The bad situation, which this doesn't have, is barbs getting stuck into the net. Been using this for a month straight and it's a great net.
Answer: I've had nylon netting landing nets and this rubber mesh net is so much better. Not completely hook free (no net is) but very nice, I love mine
Answer: I haven't had a hook get stuck yet. Not sure if they make a net that will never get hooked.
Q:
Is the mesh on this net fine enough to catch minnows?
Answer: Not if they were tiny, 1/4 inch would more than likely slip through the holes.
Answer: YES
Q:
Could someone tell me the size of mesh diameter?
Q:
Will this float?
Answer: No
Q:
How long is the 16" model when fully collapsed and folded? I'd like to know if it will fit fully inside of my backpack.
Answer: I don’t have it handy to measure but it does fit inside my backpack folded up (and my pack is not oversized).
Answer: It's nice and compact at 17"x4" -- very packable.
Q:
are the lengths shown with the net unfolded or just the length of the handles? and on the telescopic can it be locked in any length?
Answer: The picture shows the handle at full extention dut it can be locked at any length down to about half. I use that when I'm alone for one handed netting.
Answer: Yes, lengths shown in the top 2 photos are with the net unfolded. the bottom photo is what it looks like folded up.
Q:
Will skate or stingray fit?
Answer: No
Q:
Does this net float?
Answer: Yes but just to be sure add a small price of pool noodle to handle. But I don't think you need it
Q:
Can I use this for a frog??
Answer: Sure we caught small gold fish and a couple of frogs.
Q:
Will this net work for salmon/steelhead?
Answer: I don't think it would hold up well in the long run because of the weight of salmon and this being a collapsible net. It has been working well so far with snook and reds. Don't know for sure what weight stress level is.
Q:
Hi, what is the diameter of a mesh?
Answer: Hello, The mesh diameter is about 5mm.
Q:
has anyone used this for crabbinb?
Answer: We only used it for fish so I can't say about crabs. We really like it though. I can not say anything bad about it. Very pleased with it.
Q:
Will this handle catching live 5 lb chickens or 30 lb turkeys???
Answer: I wouldn’t recommend it for that. Use a standard non-folding net, especially if it’s for repeated use. I’ve already had to re-glue the handle on this one after fishing with it twice.
Q:
How long is the handle when it is extended?
Answer: Around 4 feet I think.
Q:
Is it good for large walleyes
Answer: It might be too big if it's 12" or larger
Q:
how well does this hold up to saltwater?
Answer: Well so far. Rinse after each trip like anything else. Wish there was loop or lanyard off handle for wading
Q:
Could someone tell me the size of mesh diameter?
Q:
Is product returnable
Answer: If its within the return window yes. Amazon does that with almost everything
Q:
Is it good for bass fishing ?
Answer: Yes, it can be used for bass fishing. I have used it and it's held up well.
Answer: Yes, I use it for Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Stripped Bass; it works great.
Answer: Yes. I use mine mostly for trout. I've netted trout over 4 pounds and I would imagine it could handle up to 10 pounds or more.
Q:
I'm seeing that there is a 23.5". When will it be in stock again?
Answer: Don’t know I am just a customer.
Q:
Does it float
Answer: Wish I could answer your question, but I haven't tried that out yet.
Q:
Will it hold more than one bass
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is this net DIY replaceable?
Answer: No I do not believe so. The quality and craftsmanship would be hard to duplicate
Q:
How long is it?
Answer: The smaller one is 27.5inch and the larger one is 31.5-38inch.
Answer: About three feet I would spend the extra money and get a longer handle
Q:
where is the net made?
Answer: china but it seems to be pretty well made
Q:
I never recieved my order yet it says it was shipped and payed for..what do I do?
Answer: Sign into your account and under "returns and orders" find your order and follow the instructions there.
Q:
I'm having trouble opening this thing up. I'm afraid its going to break because there's a square side on the ull-down button it has to overcome. Am

Answer: Yeah mine does not have an extension handle I am not happy at all, seller does not seem to care
Product reviews of PLUSINNO Fishing Net Fish Landing Net, Foldable Collapsible Telescopic Pole Handle, Durable Nylon Material Mesh, Safe Fish Catching or Releasing
Trey Hankins : Solid, collapsible product
I received this by (my son) participating in their power user program. Have only been able to get out once because the weather, but the concept of this is what he needed. Something small that golds up and can be easily carried/attached to his fishing backpack. The one day we got out there, he had no luck. But you can tell the net itself is going to be just what he needs when he needs it.
Sean : Packable and safe for fish
Expands and collapses which is great for when I want to pack light on a fishing trip. The net is made out of very soft (maybe silicone) material which will not hurt the fish.
Larry : Net broke off of handle
Wow, it seemed like exactly what I wanted. I mainly fish Crappie - one pound at best. Today I caught a 13 inch crappie - less than ONE POUND! We're talking little fish. I netted it but when I lifted it into the boat, the net broke from the handle. The net and fish went to the bottom leaving me nothing but the handle of the net. I would have been better off with a pair of water pump pliers. I would return it to amazon, but I don't have snorkel or deep diving gear to get the remaining pieces that amazon requires for a refund. I'm screwed. DON'T YOU BE SCREWED!!!
Amazon Customer : IS NOT TELESCOPING
Bought this under the impression it was a telescoping net. Aggravated that it isn't. BUT it does seem heavy duty so hopefully it'll last.
Josh Vue : OK, but you will need super glue
Just received this net today and it's already broken. The top part of the handle where you loosen/tighten to extend the handle broke. The glue didn't hold the threated portion to the base rod. I had to use super glue to reglue them together. Not sure if it will hold, but I'm still deciding if I want to keep it or return and try a new one. Additionally, the dimensions are not quite accurate. I ordered the 17" net, which was suppose to be 47.2 inches fully extended. It's only 44 inches fully extended.
Mystery : work out each movable part before going fishing!
This net is pretty close to your all around type fish net. Deep enough net to take on a nice albacore, with the pole able to reach out and grab that salmon too. Yet, capable of taking it on the fly fishing trip to. not very sturdy tighteners, there should be an easier way to loosen each of them, as over tightening is still an issue.
"Mike's Tackle Box" on YouTube : Great for Sand Crabs
Great for catching sandcrabs on the beach. It will filter through medium size rocks, shells, smaller crabs. Check out my video catch and cook video under " Mikes Tackle box" on YouTube thanks.
Amazon Customer : IS NOT TELESCOPING
Bought this under the impression it was a telescoping net. Aggravated that it isn't. BUT it does seem heavy duty so hopefully it'll last.
roadrage : Not what I expected.
I feel like I've wasted my money. I felt safe buying it after I saw lots of good reviews, but after seeing the net, I realize that the people giving good reviews are probably not serious fishermen or women. It feels cheap and I'm not trusting this to net a decent size fish. I think the size fish I'd be able to land with this net, are the size fish that don't really require netting. I can't see trusting this to land a 4lb or 5lb brook trout or salmon. No way. It does fold up to be pretty small, which is convinient for long hikes into remote ponds. But, I don't have confidence to net anything bigger than 14"-15" fish. I cant really afford to spend $115 on a fishing net, like an EGO, but it looks like I have to after I've thrown money away on this.
uptownHBG : Lots of pluses!!!
Pluses: - Similar silicon covered nets at Walmart or Bass Pro start at $100 -It floats in saltwater!!! Handle upward a few inches above the water! (don't ask me how I know.) -It folds easily, nicely -easy to store -Love the triangular shape of the net -the metal is covered so it won't rust immediately -It did not damage the fish - no getting stuck, no loss of slime
Wish list: -I would recommend maybe more floatation to the handle and maybe doing it in a fluorescent color
Becky. : Incorrect measurements are given for the $19.99 selection B
GREAT product! Use to catch small injured birds to bring to rescue. Bummer the measurements were wrong. Again GREAT product collapses, great grip on handle, good quality rubberized net small wholes! INCORRECT MEASUREMENTS! SELECTION B for $19.99 says extended length is 38 inch-it's 36 inches. (I need 48 extended length). Retractable length says 31 inch- it's 29. Collapsed length is correct it is 17 inch. Depth says 7.5 inch it's 16 inch. I Need 48 extended length, but not trust the measurement to order again until I get confirmation. since this one I got not match up. They offered return, OK> Just need to get correct sizing please. Thank you.
kasa : Light weight for light use
Seems great but the easy extend fastener for the main top broke it's bond after a few nets and lost a fish and the top to the river. Somehow managed to snag it and get the piece back an hour later thinking it long gone. Will try to epoxy it back and see if it holds without messing up the function and compact features. Don't use in heavy current, and for fish over a few pounds I guess.
Sean : Packable and safe for fish
Expands and collapses which is great for when I want to pack light on a fishing trip. The net is made out of very soft (maybe silicone) material which will not hurt the fish.
bwong247 : Overall very portable and useful
I overall enjoy this product as it could fit my fishing backpack and i can carry it anywhere with ease. The only issue is that i question its studiness. But i’ll update it as times goes
Update: The extender piece has broke into 2 pieces when tightening it. I contacted the customer support and has yet to receive a response back. I superglued it back and now to extend the net, i need to twist and pull pretty hard to have it come out. I did like this net when it worked but currently disappointed.
Carlie B : Kayak Fishing Must Have
Folds up and fits in my kayak crate perfectly. Coated netting prevents tangles and hook snares. Ideal for kayak fishing where storage is at a premium. Feels study enough to land some good sized bass!
Amazon Customer : Sturdiness and quality.
I lost my personal best one morning because i didn't have a net and couldn't get my hands in the largemouths mouth fast enough, I would guess 7lbs, made me sick and vowed to never do that again and invest in a net. Honestly I was just expecting a flimsy net when I bought this but its actually pretty darn sturdy and a great value for the money. Its strong, the netting doesn't feel cheap and collapses easily and fits into all my boat storage areas.
Tipzeetoezz : Awesome net! It worked
Awesome net! It worked, as described, in the advertisement. It collapses and extends easily. It's very sturdy. The best part of all, fish and lures are easily removed from the net. This is not your typical fishing net. It is made of a thick, rubbery substance. Although, I purchased a smaller size that was available (ordered last minute, to use on a Canadian fishing trip. The larger size was on back order) It accommodated 23'-32' Walleye without a problem. Fish and lures with treble hooks never got stuck or entangled in the net. I highly recommend this product!
Amazon Customer : The net material is mostly hook-proof
I have been using the 12" net for a few weeks now. It is large enough to capture any fish that I will realistically be catching in my area. I am a fly fisherman and sometimes a bass fisherman.
I like that the net folds up. I usually carry it extended when I'm fishing, but it is nice to fold it back up for storage in a pocket of my backpack when hiking in or when it is packed in my car.
The net material is mostly hook-proof. 100% rubber nets are better for keeping your hooks from getting snagged, but that type of rubber is more stiff and is probably not compatible with this folding design. Usually you only find that type of net material on very small fly fishing nets, or long handled landing nets that aren't really meant for someone who is walking around a lot.
This is a good multi-purpose net.
Angurt : Weak and cheap plastic
Fell apart first use. Very weak. Made out of very cheap plastic. Sending it back. One telescoping rod got stuck and one came off. It was just glued. The loop is held by two weak plastic lips. At the first use it bent over due to the resistance of just water. I usually do not spend much time for negative reviews but this one I was compelled to write. Don’t waste your time. Amazon needs to address paid reviews. There is no way this product would have more than 2 stars.
Andrew Kim : Great net for the price!
I really enjoyed this net. I’ve netted a lot of trout, sauger, walleye, and striper in it. It’s pretty easy to use and I like that you can adjust the handle! This is definitely worth the price! I unfortunately left it on the bank while I was wading and someone took it. I’ll probably get one again in the future
Luhr Jensen : Excellent, compact and durable net!
I'm so glad I purchased this net. It surpasses the traditional trout net I was using for kayak fishing in every way. It folds and is compact which is great for a kayak fisherman. It's the perfect length when extended for netting nice fish. Pictured is a 6 pound largemouth bass in the net. You can see that it fits well with room to spare for larger fish. If your net is starting to fail you buy this one it is well worth the cost.

Karoline Ryan : Wow!!
Very light weight. Seems to be made of decent aluminum. Nice rubber grip on the end of the handle.easy to fold and locks into place on its own. Net is made from a rubberized material which, I hope lasts longer than the traditional netting. Has a belt clip on it to either connect to yourself or bag. Looks deep enough to land a decent size fish and should hold up to a good amount of weight.
T. Lee : Broke after using net less than dozen times
While netting a 24 inch bass that is under 5 Lbs, the end of the grip broke! I was surprised it broke with so little effort! Wouldn’t recommend this considering how easy it is to break!
Amazon Customer : Thumbs up!
Overall this is a great net! I had a minor issue with closing it, however, it was no issue of the product it was me not knowing where or how to close. This thing helped me bring my snook to shore (catch and release of course). I don’t think it was made for the size or weight of the fish, however, it held up and still looks like it has many more uses ahead!
David : Great net
I bought this for a chicken catch net. It’s to short and the pocket is to small for my purpose. I gave good ratings because it’s a great net for what it was designed for. It will be great for fishing, or a dip net for a minnow tank. It is heavy duty. Fold easy.
Colton Bachman : Well designed and good materials
This is actually a pretty well-made product. The netting is actually the rubber / nylon coated material that does a much better job of preventing hooks from getting snagged up in the net like traditional nets do. I've never seen a collapsible net with that material in it. The net folds and locks in place smoothly and is lightweight. I got the small net as part of a trial for product review and will likely wind up buying the telescoping net for use when kayak fishing

Tou : Functions well
this works great! Make sure to choose the correct option. I thought I had ordered the telescopic one, but just the standard one. No biggie I rigged it so it works well now. Don't go out kayak fishing without a net. I've lost too many fish trying to land bass, and senkos flying out their mouths . Having the net i get to take a picture with the fish and my senkos stay in on as well.
T. Lee : Broke after using net less than dozen times

Jamie Dundee : Excellent product at a great price
Handle is nice and it is balanced well. The holder is a must so it is nice it it included. This net is exceptional ! The quality of materials and hardware used at top notch.
Manolorossi : Very lightweight, easy to unfold with one hand
The net is very lightweight, much more so than I expected. It can be easily snapped into open position with one hand, important when preparing to land a fish. At least I usually keep it folded until I hook up. The folding mechanism is plastic, but seems sturdy enough for a net of this size. Time will tell how well it ages... I got it as an intermediate, when the fly fishing net is just a bit to short to easily land a fish on a bank, but I don't want to carry around my monster net.
ronin : Basic sturdy fishing net
This is a pretty basic, no frills fishing net which does what it's supposed to. Collapses and stores easily and works well to help land that big catch that you don't want to flip. The spongy handle makes it easy to grasp even under wet conditions and also dries quickly. Nylon net seems plenty tough. All in all a good value for the price.
Kevin S : very solid & compact
This is my first landing net and it's perfect for the ponds that I fish at. It's foldable & compact but very solid in the hand :). I'm able to easily stow it with my gear and it's easy to work with one hand when I'm landing a bass. Very solid, easy to fold/unfold and lightweight. I really like this net... I'll update with additional observations as I use it in the future. So far, So Very Good :). Shout out to Plusinno !! I have your Rods & Reels & multiple segmented lures and tackle kits. You provide solid gear at really good prices... Thanks !! Very Happy Customer :)
Cody : Cheaply Made - Likely Won't Last
Right out of the box the folding mechanism on this net didn't work. I had to adjust the tightness of the screws to get the net to lock into place when fully extended. The entire lock mechanism is cheap plastic. It won't rust, but also probably won't last. I wouldn't expect to get more than 2 seasons out of this net.
FamilyDad : Nice fishing net.... which doesn't float. ;-)
Liked it during one time use with my Kayak, fish and hooks tangled in netting was quickly removable.... until it went overboard on kayak not able to retrieve on time. Learned my lesson that this doesnt float.... most fishing nets probably don't. But on my next purchase.... probably the shorter version I will attach a line to avoid accidental loss.

Fishing With The Oz : Great Net For Kayak Fishing
I really like that this net is telescopic so you can adjust the length you need. And that the net folds easily for storage. I ordered the 17" hoop size and wondering if the larger one may have served me better in the long run but this size is working well for me so far. It does not float so I wrapped a piece of cheap pipe insulation foam on the handle to make it a floating net. I was not paid for this review nor did I receive this product for free.
FishLIkeUs : Quality Fishing Net at a Decent Price
We were pleased with this product upon receiving/testing it. We teach fishing lessons and run kayak fishing charters so space is a necessity and we use our nets regularly. We have purchased folding nets from other manufacturers in the past and enjoyed the design improvements Plusinno has made (tighter corners, quality net material that won't hurt the fish, sturdy handle that locks into place). Our only desire would be for the handle to be slightly longer or extendable so we could net while standing (-1 star). You can view a video of our review on our YouTube channel under 'Fish Like Us'.
David Dickenson : Great to use but handle with care
This net is great for landing a fish. The extension allows for a better reach than a lot of other options. I also love the netting, which is fine enough that it allows me to scoop up minnows that have fallen in the water but are still usable.
Be careful, though. There are two parts that extend, and they unscrew to allow for extension and screw back to lock it in place. This configuration was slightly confusing at first, and I went to extend it when it was locked. I didn't think I pulled that hard, but part of the pole came loose, with the threaded part still screwed into the fitting. Fortunately I was able to use gorilla glue to put the pole back into the threaded piece. Once it dried I was able to unscrew it and now it is as good as new.
Great product, just be careful. I generally just leave each attachment point loosened at all times now to avoid doing the same thing again, and it works great.
Amazon Customer : easy to use and works like a charm
I have to say I love this fishing net. Its easy to fold up and place in a small compartment the.boat and it can handle big hogs. A added bonus is that hooks don't get hung up in netting. I Would definitely recommended.
Tj : Gets the job done.
When i first got this net i thought it might have been a little too small until i actually put it to the test. I usually catch 1-3 lb bass and they fit in the net perfectly, longer fish like pikes would probably require a wider net. So i would say that its good for small to medium sized fishing. I bought the 12 inch but wished i had bought the next size up, because its a little short for my kind of fishing. It still gets the job done though, very light, tough and easy to carry around because of its folding feature. So i am still happy with it and if i do decide to get a longer net, i would buy this type of net again. Definitely would recommend this net based on your needs.
bennylog : Got the wrong one
Meant to get the same one I lost which was regular netting this one is rubber which is ok for pulling caught fish but not for catching small fish. Doesnt fold as easy as my other one either but it's good for a kayak
Amazon Customer : Nice little net
I like the ease of use. I like the fold up to put in back pack or fishing pack. A little flimsy but will work fine. Made for medium sized fish and not something big like a salmon. Looks good to about 20" trout.
Chad : Nice net
Great net for the price. Way better made than I expected. Highly recommend for small boat.
vertron Bussey : Overall if your looking for something decent I think this is a good by for the money.
First impression Pros 1. Light weight 2. Foldable 3. Clip for carrying 4. Telescoping handle Cons 1. No landyard 2. Both sides of net fold down independently vs together. Makes it somewhat troublesome to operate smoothly. 3. Belt clip is in the way of the adjustment knob for handle. Makes it difficult twist the knob to telescope the handle. I'll probrobly remove mine because I dont need it. 4. Net is only held in place by a single tie wrap. It could break if you land a heavy fish
tai : DO NOT BUY
Worst thing you can ever buy on amazon for catching any kind of fish. The day I received it, I was so excited and went down to the cape for crabbing. I tried to scoop some small guppies in the water for the first time, let me tell you. I couldn’t catch any because the net was too heavy in the water and super slow. It also snapped, broke, and the skin of my finger got cut and stuck between the broken plastic. My day was ruin. Don’t waste your money, just go to your local fishing shop and get a decent fishing net and save your money.
Bill : Very good compact net
It's a good net for specific use like bringing in a heavy fish.
Pros: Collapsible Fairly large (if that's good for you) Nice waterproof mesh (not cotton or braid that absorbs and gets smelly) Rust Proof
Cons: Very bulky when open, does not move well through water but this is common with most moderns nets now.
For pulling in fish it's good. Its also very easily portable which is nice. Customer service has been fanastic!
