product description
Toads are great on the top of the water. Fish it slow thru the lily pads and weeds, or bring her in fast along the top and make the legs splash. Attracts a lot of attention, with good water displacement and a great action. Zoom uses a Salt mixture in their baits that makes a fish hold on for that extra time that gives you more hook ups.

Somewhat disappointed bait sinks really doesn't float making long cast is ok for topwater but you go through half your cast to get the bait up and moving should not have to reel that fast try single hook for but bait rolls over and now you lose the weedless effect and all of this was in open water would not recommend will return

Love the quality of thes lures! They are very tough so that they are sure to last longer than your average soft plastic lures. I haven't caught anything with them yet, so i can't really comment on effectiveness. They are very well made though. The colors are true to the pictures.

Bass Love Them.
kevz71243 : ACE IN THE HOLE!!!!!!
Let me just tell you I love to fish and I know what works and how to fish for large mouth bass! A few years back there was a lot of good words over the ribbit frog and, I have ever frog on the market so, I said what the hell ill add it to my arsenal. So while at Walmart I looked high and low for the ribbit frog and I couldn't find them but what they did have was the zoom horny toad. So what the hell I got them. Well about a week later im out fishing on a lake with the worst rep ever!!! for not catching any fish. And like always im coming up empty handed while on this local lake, I casted everything I had, except this frog I put a weedless hook on and give it a throw and out of no where bass after bass was coming out of one little spot and they where all 2-3lb bass less then 20mins I had my limit. I went back out to the lake again this year and NO ONE on the lake was catching anything there blamed the heavy rain, and it was still to cold, or the bass was still on the bed , and I would just pulled out this nice 3+lb bass out of the live well and say YA!! damn rain and cold weather hahaha.. Hell landed the bigger fish right there at the boat ramp on the way in lol. I will tell u this I did catch all of my fish around the lily pads. And it works like a charm.
Update: Dear Lord!! These frogs are just to go to be true!!! First warm day this year 2015 in less then 2 days I've caught over 100 bass. I don't know if I just have the magic touch with these frogs or what but my buddy's wont even let me go fishing with them unless I leave my damn frogs, as they say at the house lol haha, there like it's not fair! I catch 20 fish , keeper fish at that ,to there one 8oz fish in about a hr. Lol. There is a lot of action in these frogs, rip them across the top of the water, let them swim just underneath the waters surface , or my new trick use carbon fiber line because it sinks, and let the frog nose dive a sec in deeper darker water then pull and twitch, let it drop again then pull twice, let it drop repeat, letting the frog dive about 2-3ft and u will pick up the deeper bass 4-8ft deep of water, works in clear or dark water it doesn't matter!!!. I don't use the nose cork screws on the hooks neither, only thing there good for is to mess up the nose of the frog, and it kills the action of the frog, and u will also lose the frog on almost every other fish the bass will just shake it off , at 4-5$ a bag ,the cost adds up quick! I use just the hooks. I also use the hooks most people use for the plastic worms also , I put the frog on just like u would a worm your trying to make weedless, hook threw the middle of the nose like your about to thread it on but come back out about 1/4in under the mouth. I then push the frog all the way up to the eye of the hook then turn the frog over as I get up to the bend of the hook close to the eye, then take the hook and come back up threw the back center, just come right threw the frog from the bottom side up threw the back the hook should be sticking threw the "rear"!! center of the back of the frog close to the legs. With the point facing the head , remember to pull the hook down so the sharp part of the hook is touching flat with the back of the frog making it weedless. Oh one last thing don't catch them all! Lol this lure is better then using a dip net to catch fish in a bucket lol. I've only tried the horny toad / bull frog. Ive never felt the need to fish with anything else. The frogs nose really rip up to fast , that's the only bad thing about this soft body plastic frog, and I go threw a lot of these frogs I carry at least 3 bags of them and 6 hooks every time I go fishing. I burn threw them quick!! In the last two years I've prob bought around 20-30 bags of these frog and about 6 packs of hooks. The hooks start bending after a lot of fish and the fish running around a log hanging u up haha. Try these frogs u will love them!
Last update: 300+ large mouth bass this year! I'm the Master!! At using this frog. Little help for the newbies fish shallow 1'ft and less around grass, Lily pads, down trees, I fish from boat and bank it doesn't matter because I fish down the side of the bank or grass and so on. If your not having luck slow your roll, and let it sink, work it slower, and the best advice anyone could ever give u watch for striking bass around the shallows and pitch the frog right as him/her or as close to the fish as u can and just jerk and reel and he/ she will bite every time!

spaceman : This Works Good
I bass fish a lot and frogs/toads are a go-to lures for me. This lure, especially in black, is a MVP in my arsenal. Pairing this with a Gomakatsu weighted (I prefer 3/16 oz.) 5/0 EWG hook is my favorite way to fish it. Tie it to a bait caster with some 20-30# braided line and toss it in to the lilies and slowly retrieve it back to you. Then hold on and be ready for some action because it's heading your way. I mainly fish this lure in black and white. If there's Northern Pike in the area make sure to take some 20# fluorocarbon line to make a leader between your braid and hook because a regular steel leader will effect the performance/presentation of the lure.

Shadowvail : Great Lure Overall
This frog is my go to lure when nothing else is working. There are a few notable things that I'd like to mention in this review.
There seem to be multiple versions of the zoom toad that you may or may not notice. There is the older version that was much more buoyant that would FLOAT and not sink. You would use it simply as a top water popper or skipper.
Personally I'd cast it out over lily pads and let it make as big a splash as possible and then let it sit on the surface for a few seconds. During that few seconds is when most of my bites would occur. If I didn't get one at that point, I'd twitch it a few times and my other bites would occur then. I didn't have much luck reeling in after that point. This was completely different with the second version of this toad that SINKS.
The sinking version is the version that you will most likely find at this time. The floating ones seemed to be the older model. The rubber material used on the sinking version feels much more solid and thicker than it's predecessor. With that being said, the newer non sinking ones last much longer and will take more abuse from fish, snags, and what have you. I fished these in a slightly different way. Very similar to that of a senko. I cast out and let it sink. If the fish don't take it on the fall, I start reeling slowly to get the toad's feet kicking. The feet are the key with this version. You want the toad to get into a swim so it's feet are wiggling everywhere. I like to keep it just under the surface of the water. I've caught countless large mouths with this technique.
Now, the only problem I have with lures with long feet like these is that the fish tend to grab the feet and not the whole bait. It is absolutely a necessity to wait a second when you feel a bite. If you try to set the hook right away, you will lose the fish. The fish needs a second to go from grabbing the feet, to grabbing the whole hook and bait. This is my only gripe with this lure. But I'm sure you could say the same thing about many other types of lures like this.
Overall I would give this lure a very high rating, due to its durability, versatility, presentation, and price. After countless hours of use and many many fish caught, I highly recommend it.
EDIT 2019: After many years of using this lure, it is still one of my favorites of all time. I didn't mention it above, but these lures are also great for catching pickerel and some smaller pike. Being a predatory fish, they are very big on chasing their prey. These toads are wonderful at mimicking the real motion that a frog would make moving across the surface of the water or just underneath. I've surprisingly even caught a few curious Bullhead catfish with these! Point being, this is a very versatile lure and I continue to stand by it years after my initial review.

Orleans1971 : Legs are not durable
While there is good action, the legs don’t last very long. A few hook-ups and the frog is done.
William Werner : Pop water fun
All ways love top water bass fishing horny toads seem to bring them out, or should I say bring them up
Troublesum : It’s quiet
Seems to work well ????did best when it was glass on lake super quiet as it skims top
Jordan : My go to top water bait for fishing lily pad ...
My go to top water bait for fishing lily pad islands and searching for active fish in shallow areas. Black is a safe color that almost always works and the bullfrog color is also a proven producer on the local lake.
Will Zytka : The bomb
These kick butt, fish just can't get enough. They hold up well and even caught fish on one that had it's leg ripped off. They move water nice and make just the right amount of noise - can be rolled slow or fast for great results. Get a bag and hold on to your rod with two hands cause the fish hit them hard.
The Bryan's : Big bass love these
Best price and free shipping. These frogs work great for landing big bass.
