Questions about Green Blob OutdoorNew Underwater Fishing Light LED for Docks 7500 or 15000 Lumen with 110 Volt AC 30ft or 50ft Power Cord, Crappie, Snook, Fish Attractor, Made in Texas
Q:
The description says it has a timer but answers say no timer?
Answer: no timer came w/ it I found an outdoor timer for $10
Answer: There was no timer with mine.
Q:
How long can this run on an inverter with a marine battery?
Q:
I have an old pool I want to light... I need a drop in light... how much area does the white light illuminate? My pool is 16x32
Answer: This light will definitely illuminate the entire pool. Our 7500 lumen model light will normally have at least twice the output of a commonly installed pool light. Thank you for a very good question.
Answer: The green light, placed at a depth of two feet in murky river water, illuminates a ten foot diameter circle.
Answer: Can’t answer that, I have a green light and it’s in the water off the dock
Q:
Where is it made?
Q:
How long is or tall? Can you hit it with the boat
Answer: The light itself is about a foot long and comes with plenty of cord. Not much chance of hitting it with the boat. Ours just hangs down on the side of the piling.
Q:
what is that coating that encases the light? plastic? does it leach away over time?
Answer: It is coated and they have made suggestions to keep it coated in vaseline if you are leaving it in the water to stop algae growth. Overtime salt will eat pretty much anything, but follow the instructions and itll last a long time.
Q:
Is it Ac & dc , if so is the dc a PowerPoint plug
Answer: It is a ac input to dc transformer .
Answer: AC
Answer: The one that I got was A/C and it worked great. Work exactly like I thought it would. I bought two of them last year and still use them.
Q:
What is start up procedure? Ours only stays on for the seconds and gets dimmer. Takes 24 hours to even to get it to come on and plug it take outside p
Answer: We use it for underwater behind the boat. No problems whatsoever.
Q:
Does it have a timer?
Answer: No I bought an outdoor timer on amazon for $10 both are working great every night.
Answer: No timer included
Answer: No it doesn't
Q:
The power cord gets very hot, is that a concern for 7/24 use? I'm concerned it will burn up, catch the grass on for fire or something else.
Answer: I've never noticed mine getting hot? I raise and lower the light and never felt heat. Maybe a faulty unit?
Q:
What is the light spread with 7500 and the 1500
Answer: This light only lasts a few weeks. It using it in saltwater it gets completely covered in barnacles and is not useable. I had to throw mine out. Complete waste. Was covered 100% and no light came out through the junk all stuck to it.
Q:
Have noticed reviewed stating that these don’t last long, what is the warranty and what does it cover?
Answer: The factory was very good and replaced it
Q:
What is the warranty on this product?
Q:
What is the output in Watts ?
Answer: The light is LED measured in lumens. Goggle lumens to watts calculator or use 1500 lumens equals 25 watts, 3000 lumens equals 50 watts.
Q:
what is the warranty?
Q:
Hope mfg replaces mine used 14 days!
Answer: Good luck, I was told no
Q:
Is there a certain way to try the light for example i tried the one with the transformer and it popped in my hand. Is that normal?
Answer: Hey fishing fan get one for your self
Q:
What color of light do you recommend for lake livingston, tx?
Answer: Green Light and White Light are the most common colors used to attract fish to boats, docks and piers because they are brighter
Q:
anyone have any suggestions had it on 3 hours and all i had come were mosquitos and mosquito larva
Answer: Give it a few days for the fish to get acclimated. Anytime you add something new to the environment it takes some time for them not to be leery of it. It will work just keep it off the bottom.
Answer: There may not have been any fish/bait fish nearby. Most of the time you need to have the light on all night every night and the bait fish get accustomed to it being there. Once you draw in the bait fish, the predator fish will find it. It may take several nights before you see any results.
Answer: Ours never worked very well, it is almost all white, no longer green and dimmer than a night light. Bad mistake on my part purchasing this light. Buy direct from the real company. It's worth it in the long run.
Q:
What's the warranty?
Q:
Is there a certain way to try the light with the transformer? I plugged it in my outlet and it made a pop like a light bulb popping. Is that normal?
Answer: Awesome

Answer: Comes on instantly after being plugged in
Q:
Tried vaseline to help stop barnacle and algae growth. in three weeks the light is covered with barnicles. do you have any recommendations to prolong
Answer: I'm in fresh water and have the same issue with Algae. I just make it a point to pull it out once a week and scrub is off with a brush. I would imagine that would help keeping the barnacles away too.
Answer: I also tried Vaseline and got fed up with the barnacles . Left the barnacles grow and the light over heated and burnt out . Bought a domed light with enough heat to stop barnacles from growing and am very happy with it . This one also attracted more fish .
Answer: In salt water we use a product to prevent growth on the boat transducer called FoulFree produced by Propspeed.
Answer: You have to keep it off the bottom try floats or a fish finder rig.
Answer: Keep it off the bottom with float and wrap with Saran Wrap. Peel it off and re wrap when it gets fouled
Answer: I covered with vaseline and also did not work
Answer: I wrap with Saran Wrap and then peel it off and re wrap
Q:
How does it stay under the water?
Answer: It is hollow and also weighted just enough to stay under water. No weights needed. Thanks!
Answer: It sinks to the bottom.. you have to adjust the cord to the height you want it at..
Answer: Has a built in weighing system which holds it underwater.
Answer: By its weight
Answer: It is weighted.

Q:
How deep can the lights be submerged?
Answer: The depth from my dock to the bottom of the marina is about 15 feet so no problem. I did order the blob with the 50 foot cord so I assume it could go that deep.
Answer: I had them about 6 foot deep and they worked great from that depth. Not sure about any deeper but looked like they would work even deeper than the 6 feet of water that I was In
Q:
What is the difference between this one & the pro model for $20 more?
Answer: The light is longer and brighter,,, well worth the $20
Q:
how many watts?
Q:
Do I use a 220 V
Answer: Plugs into a regular everyday outlet. Works great!
Q:
Is it safe to swim around the light?
Answer: Yes - Mine is in salt water and I had a large sea horse living on top of it for several weeks
Q:
What warranty does this come with?
Q:
what is the warranty?
Q:
Warranty Info???
Answer: One of those limited lifetime warranties. They replaced the first one that went bad and now the second one has gone bad. They have yet to respond.
Q:
It produces up to how many feet diameter of light?
Answer: Used it for four months, full of barnacles , not many fish . I bought another one from underwater fish lights , a lot more money , but lots of fish and I think it is the heat that helps keep the barnacles off . Love the new one !!
Answer: It all depends on the clarity of the water
Answer: That’s going to depend on the clarity of the water it’s placed in…duh.
Q:
How do you set it up?
Answer: No set up required. Plug it in to a dusk to dawn circuit and put it in the water.
Answer: I hang mine off my dock. Vary the depth to see what works. Put it on a dusk to dawn light sensor for auto on off. Have to scrape it about once a month for saltwater growth. I’ve been happy with it, had it about a year.
Q:
How badly does marine growth grow on it in salt water? i’ve read led's get covered with growth and halogen doesn’t.
Answer: In my area, anything in the water gets some growth or another and the light is no exception, you just have to pull it out of the water periodically and keep it clean
Answer: The heat on a halogen prevent them from getting growth on them, an LED will not accomplish that.
Q:
Use daytime?
Answer: I've fished with lights for 20 years, and only about 1 hour before sunset and 1 hour after sunrise would this light or any light, be effective in attracting fish, as the sun on the water will put way more light in the water and negate the effect of a fishing light, even one as powerful as the green blob.
Answer: Yes. works during daylight hours
Answer: No
Q:
How this affect boat battery life do i have to keep my boat engine always on or it will drain the battery?
Answer: Noooo use of battery
Product reviews of Green Blob OutdoorNew Underwater Fishing Light LED for Docks 7500 or 15000 Lumen with 110 Volt AC 30ft or 50ft Power Cord, Crappie, Snook, Fish Attractor, Made in Texas
Catherine E Miles : IT GLOWS GREEN!
Super cool!
Jeane Aaronson : GREAT PRICE
VERY NICE! WE BOUGHT AN ADAPTER SO WE CAN TAKE IT ON ARE BOAT!
EK : It works!
This light absolutely works as a fish attraction! I had 3 big bass swimming around it within 15 minutes after it lit up. I hooked it up to a light sensor/ timer to turn on after dusk and turn off after 4 hours.
Captain Rob : Quality Product and Impeccable Customer Service and Loyalty
I bought two 15,000 Lumen Green Blob OutdoorNew Underwater Fishing Lights in March 2020. "Made in Texas" and "4.5 Star rating" were the reason I purchased them over the competitors. They are OUTSTANDING. As you can see from the pictures, I've got fish on them and they are very bright. My dock spans 200 yards from my house and you can see my Green Blobs even in the moon light. They are on a 12-hour timer. I frequently have angler come by boat to fish around my dock. To keep them from catching my power cord, I filled a five-gallon bucket with concrete and inserted a vertical 1 1/4" PVC pipe which each light slides over. Now my cords lay flat on the bottom and lights secured from swinging with the waves. Last month I noticed both lights begin to "strobe" every ten-fifteen minutes. I contacted Green Blob Outdoors Store through Amazon. The owner, Mark, personally returned my call a few days later. He said the power supplies were bad and he would send replacements along with instructions. Mark sent me exactly what I needed to get my lights back into the water--no questions asked. I really appreciate that kind of customer service. Mark and his Made in Texas company has a loyal customer for life. Thank you and Semper Fi, Captain Rob
Scott Lay : Nice dock light
Nice product work just as good as similar products I paid a lot more for. I have added an anchor and a float to allow it to be placed away from my dock.
Rookieshopper : Great American made product with customer service to match
Amazing product and customer service! Purchased the Blob a few months ago. Truly lights up the pond from a distance as you can see from the photo. I contacted the owner with questions and received rapid responses each time. The kids enjoy watching the fish swirl around the light. It's great to see a small business like this deliver on its promise. Highly recommended. I've seen some negative reviews talking about product quality which surprise me. The owner actually includes his business card with the package. If you are shopping for a pond light like I was, I suggest giving the Blob a try.
Very satisfied.
Jeane Aaronson : GREAT PRICE
VERY NICE! WE BOUGHT AN ADAPTER SO WE CAN TAKE IT ON ARE BOAT!
Michele Robinson : Short-lived, buyer beware!!
One month after I recieved it the light no longer works. Of course 8 days after Amazon's return policy. I should have listened to the reviews.
andrew cacciatore : very professional service excellant product works great
The owner of this company worked personally with me on delivery to a remote area. He always answered my texts and kept his word. Product was delivered on time as he promised. I will certainly use this company. Sincerely, Andrew Cacciatore 5/26/2021
EUGENE KOHLY : THE GREEN BLOB LIGHT LASTED ONLY 1 MONTH SO RELIABILITY IS POOR AS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE
I SENT THE GREEN BLOB LIGHT BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR A REPLACEMENT AND I DID NOT RECIEVE ONE BACK OR ANY FURTHER RESPONSE . I BELIEVE THE COMPANY STRATEGY IS TO SELL YOU A LIGHT THAT THEY KNOW WON'T LAST AND THEN IGNORE YOU. I USED IT ON MY DOCK IN KEY LARGO AND IT QUICKLY GOT COVERED WITH SEA LIFE THAT HAD TO BE CLEANED FREQUENTLY. MINE WORKED FOR ONLY 1 MONTH. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE BUY THIS BRAND. MY NEIGHBOR BOUGHT A HIGHER END ONE AND IT IS WORKING AFTER 1 YEAR.
Jonathan E. Boggan : Brightness
The brightness wasn’t what I was hoping for. Does not compare to the Green Monster. I would have bought the brighter version in hind-sight.
Parrycrew : no photocell light sensor - always on
The lights are nice and bright so far. Because the light is self weighted- you have no control over the depth of the light like you would a typical snook light. The only control you would have off your dock is to drop it straight down and lock the cord at the desired depth. I don't know of anyone who uses the lights straight down off the docks though -we all put them many feet out in front or to the side of the dock so you can see the wildlife. Lastly and most importantly to me, this version, which is the plug-in/dock version doesn't have a photocell sensor so you have to plug it in and unplug it - or just leave it on always. Neither option works for me, so now I have to have an electrician install that. I could have just paid a little more for a traditional light from a different brand and had that on it already.
Marcy Fleck and Roger Fleck : Water gazing.
Not only does the blob attract fish it lights up the waterway behind our house. We have even seen an alligator swim by the light. The grandkids and I enjoy watching the different types of fish that are attracted to the green glow. Very well made, it’s been in the water since 2018.
phong vo : Awesome
Awesome
LuAnne F : Awesome light
Attracts fish from the corner of my dock. Well made product. Follow cleaning instructions. If you slack (as I did) if is a little more difficult to clean.
susan s. : Do not buy!
Stopped working after 14 days. No response from seller.
jeffrey : WORKED FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN COVERED WITH BARNACLES
I ordered two of these and hooked them up by my dock. After a couple months I noticed they were not coming on anymore. I pulled them up from the bottom and they were completely covered in barnacles and shells to the point that they were not even visible at all. Completely covered. Have to throw them out.
Alan W. Jones : Waste of money . Won't last no time
Died in less than 2 months . My neighbor bought one an had same problem . He got a replacement and same thing happened again . Just does not last and for the money that is not a very good product .
Keri : Great for price!
Bright.. works great... had lots of fish almost instantly..
Joe Gaughan : Dependability an issue.
Bought two of them. Both stopped working after a few months. One was replaced under warranty and hope it continues to work. Nice while they work. Update- Replacement unit still works but the green less have now faded to a yellowish red. Save your money. Updated Update- Wires to the remote sensor began to smoke... unplugged before it caught fire, luckily we were nearby when it started, otherwise could have been nasty. Trashed the whole thing!
Jennifer Thurmond : Made to withstand a harsh salt water environment
Amazing light Live on Santa Rosa sound near Destin FL Huge amount of fish around this light positioned under boat dock. A must buy
r paul heflin : Great product
Needed a 50’ cord instead of the 30’ cord I ordered. Mark the owner
Amazon Customer : Not bright underwater
This product is disappointing. Not nearly as bright as I was hoping.
The light I was replacing is only 1/2 the lumens however appeared much brighter. Perhaps it's the shade of green, uncertain. At any rat, would not recommend
Pat K : Great product
Great colour! Easy to see and easy to launch!
Rodney Schexnayder : Too expensive for the results.
Not impressed with the light and thought it would lite up a wider area.
Geri : Excellent product
Excellent product
Richard Bray : Great light!!!!!
Great product and the company stands behind their products! I am a Striper guide and depend on my light for bait to fish with. Green Blob outdoors is the real deal!
susan s. : Do not buy!

Linda S. : Love it!
Incredibly bright and easy to set up. Love it!
MikeyD : Fish love it
Beautiful color. The fish love it!
Scott Lay : Nice dock light
Nice product work just as good as similar products I paid a lot more for. I have added an anchor and a float to allow it to be placed away from my dock.
Alan W. Jones : Waste of money . Won't last no time
Died in less than 2 months . My neighbor bought one an had same problem . He got a replacement and same thing happened again . Just does not last and for the money that is not a very good product .
Jack Thomas : Better Than Promised
Works great. Attracts more baitfish than my $2000 1500W HPS light.
Duayne R. Barr : Best Bait Light I've found
I've used two of these lights for well over two years. That is a phenomenal amount of time for the abuse I put them through. I leave them down 65 ft or so for months at a time and they keep on ticking. Some LEDs are out but over all the lights are still functional. Most bait lights are all but disposable. These lights keep on ticking!
By the Sea : Five stars
Great light! We put it in the canal to watch fish at night. It's awesome.
Tiffanie : AMAZING
We have been using it for a few months now and it does attract the fish! Stays on a timer I bought from here. We tell everyone about it!
Jenny Brooks : Great product!
I have the light hung from a floating dock on a saltwater bay on Long Island since last June to December and again from this May. Every night, all night I see fish. Mostly stripers and fluke but other species as well. They are all attracted to huge swarms of spearing around the Green Blob (most in late summer to fall). As you can see in the video, the bass arrive in schools up to 100+ anywhere from 20 - 34". It is awesome fun to watch! I got the 15000 lumens unit and it works as great today as it did when I bought it. Marine growth does need to be cleaned off periodically. Customer service is great as well. I reached out to them a couple of times with questions and they got back to me right away and were very helpful both times.

Robert : It did not last long
Well it did not last long enough for you to get the survey to me. It died about ten days ago. I expected it to last longer then that. Other then that it was oh kay.
O'Hern : Works great, tarpon every night.
By the second night of use, there were tarpon at the light. They have been there every night since. No problems with product and we enjoy watching the fish every night. We bought the green one and live on a canal off Sarasota bay.
