Questions about Amarine Made 12v-24v 8W 180 LED 1000 Lumens IP68 Lure Bait Finder Night Fishing Boat Submersible Deep Drop Underwater Light with Battery Clip & Power Plug
Q:
Is the green light more environmentally or fish friendly than the white?
Answer: Yes it's more fish friendly, for some reason white lights seem to work better above the water but I find the underwater green light to work better then a white light no matter where u put it. Green is the way to go!
Answer: Are you kidding me?
Q:
How big is the light ?
Answer: 8 to 12 inches. Its not that big, but it sure puts out a lot of light. Well built.
Answer: About 7 inches
Answer: 7” long by about an inch in diameter
Q:
Does this product work for both freshwater and saltwater fish?
Answer: I haven’t tried it on fresh water fish yet,but definitely works on salt water fish
Answer: I use the light successfully for squid in salt water using an 18 volt Dewalt battery so I assume it will work in fresh water, as well. However I don't know which species would be attracted by the light.
Answer: I used it in freshwater and it was cool to see, but didnt help with fishing.
Answer: Yes, just clean it off after salt water use
Answer: yes
Q:
Is there any reason that I cannot use these in my pool, just for lighting? Is this safe? I assume they don't electrecute fish?
Answer: I can think of no reason the light wouldn't work in your pool. Safe? Well, your correct, it don't electrocute fish but you will need a 12 volt battery to power it. So you will have it located somewhere close to your pool. And, the light could get broken by a swimmer. I own a pool service, do you not have a pool light? If its not working the repair is not that costly and it would be a much safer.
Answer: I suppose you could,as you well known water and electricity don’t mix well, if they’re no people involved in the equation I’d say sure, but there’s always the chance of human error
Q:
Can this product be used for ice fishing & extreme cold water temperature?
Answer: I haven't used it in extreme cold, but I don't see why not as long as your 12 volt battery holds up in the cold.
Answer: I cannot answer this question I used it in the Fl keys. It’s very well made I don’t see why not.
Answer: I would think you could. I really don't see a reason it wouldn't work.
Q:
Can it be plugged directly into the cigarette lighter of the boat to draw power?
Answer: Yes you can plug it in to a 12-24V DC power outlet.
Answer: You will have to change the connection from clip to cigarette lighter male piece
Answer: Yes, but 12volt is a little dimmer than on a 24volt
Q:
How big of a circle of light does it produce in about 2 feet of water?
Answer: This light is extremely bright so much you can hardly look at it. I hang it off the end of my boat a couple feet down. Depending on clarity it lights the water all around my 19 foot boat. Dropping it down you can see it 30+ feet under the boat.
Q:
How long will it run on a 12v gel cell battery
Answer: Not knowing how many amp- hr the battery is there is no knowing how long it will last. I can tell you that on a 675 amp Marine battery it will last 2+ nights or more than 18 hrs.
Answer: I don’t remember exactly but we used it for about six hours fishing at night and it was still just as bright when I pulled it up out of the water to put it away.
Answer: I’m not sure I use the cig lighter port on my boat
Q:
I want to use this out of a kayak by hanging it over the side. Space is limited. I need to know what size and how heavy the battery needed is?
Answer: I use a car battery hooked to a generator. Not sure a smaller system will work but a Jump-N-Carry 4000 1,100 Peak Amp 12V Jump Starter may work
Answer: U can get a battery and fit it in ur backpack its about the size of a brick
Answer: I’m not sure if you need 12 volt or not , I use 12 volt, this question might be better suited for the seller
Answer: 12 volt lawn mower battery would be great
Q:
Does this work on a 24v system?
Answer: I’m not sure. We bought a separate re-chargeable 12V battery for it and brought it on the boat. It was very bright though and attracted a lot of bait fish.
Q:
What amp battery do I need and how long will it last?
Answer: I ran mine on a small 12v deep cycle battery. It worked all night
Q:
Would this produce enough light for hog hunting by a feeder at hight? 1,000 lumens should be pretty decent?
Answer: I don't use my light for hog hunting but to attract fish. I hang the light from my boat about 2 feet under the water. The green light attracts small bait and then the bigger fish come up to feed. Works well for fishing. As for lighting up a feeder at night I would only guess that 1000 lumens is plenty light for what you need.
Answer: more then enough - but get a self contained solar flood light that works off motion, that way when they show up they turn the light on for you, I love that Hog Hunting!
Answer: I suppose it might depend on if you’re using a scope or not, buy it , try it, if it doesn’t work, send it back!
Q:
Is there an extension cable or line that is longer? At least half the cord ends up on shore/bridge so it limits the depth and some places cant reach t
Answer: I don’t know. It came with a standard length cable. I wasn’t given a choice on size/length of cable.
Answer: Not that I know of . But you could easily splice one in on your own just 2 cables
Q:
Can this be powered by a 12v ac landcape lighting power supply? or must it be 12vdc???
Answer: I think that would work
Q:
Is this the kind that you can just drop and leave in the water outside of your deck?
Answer: You can leave it in the water but it uses a 12 volt DC power source so you are limited by this.
Answer: Yes. Just pull them in once in a while to wipe them off to keep them shining bright
Answer: Sure that's one way you can use it. There's more permanent dock lights that may work better but this will get the job done.
Answer: Yes. It has a pretty long cord. Very bright. You need an external power source like a battery.
Q:
In order to convert the plug from 12v dc to120v ac, would you just have to purchase a car charger to regular ac outlet adapter?
Answer: I think that should work. You would NOT want to put this straight to AC power.
Answer: I used this on my dock in salt water. Works great! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WUARNC6/
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can i used it at a bridge?
Answer: The cord is long, but definitely not long enough to get any dept into the water from a bridge. Even a low bridge. It’s like a 25 foot cable
Answer: If you have a 12v battery and the cable can reach the water and submerge the light. Make sure you secure the cable, the light will sink.
Answer: As long and there is enough cable yes. If not you can make it longer by adding additional line to it. Just make sure you waterproof your work.
Answer: I would say you can as long as it doesn’t mess with navigation lighting.
Q:
If i remove the car charging adaptor and wire +/- to a 12v sla battery what size fuse should be put on the positive lead for an 8watt led draw?
Answer: 5ams should do
Q:
Is that an sae plug where the clips and cable hook up?
Answer: Like a 2 prong male female plug? No but you could make on. Just cut the ends off and wire the plug on the adapter.
Q:
How does this hold up ice fishing? Will the freezing water kill this thing?
Answer: Have not tried it for ice fishing but would think as long as the water was not frozen solid it would not have an effect on it. Seems to be well made and works very well.
Q:
Will these work with standard 12v fish finder batteries? Like Cabela's?
Answer: I'm not sure what Cabela's 12v batteries look like or what capacity those batteries are rated for. For my kind off fishing the light stays on all night and I use a 12v marine heavy duty battery.
Answer: I used mine last night and it worked perfect. Just hooked it up to my trolling motor battery. It is a 12 volt deep cycle marine battery.
Q:
Will this light work with a 12v 7amp exp1270 rechargeable lead acid battery ?
Answer: I assume so since the battery voltage is within the stated 12v-24v range. I used an 18v Dewalt drill battery successfully for over two hours and the light was still bright when we left.
Answer: I don't see why not!
Q:
What name brand type of 12 V battery do I need for this to work?
Answer: As a general rule this hooks up to the main battery in your boat. You could hook it to any 12v lead acid battery. The drain is 666mA/Hr. So, if you had a 6A/Hr battery, that's 6000mA/Hr it would last 9 hours. Large lead acid batteries are much larger than this. No specific brand is required such as for a DeWalt or Ryobi power tool.
Answer: Name brand is unimportant...12 volt is the key. I suggest a motor cycle or ATV battery. They are not heavy and will run ine of these lights all night long and then some.
Answer: I plug it into my boats cigarette lighter plug
Answer: The brand makes no difference, so long as its output is 12v DC.
Q:
How long is the cord?
Answer: Approx 15 ft...
Q:
Is this light supposed to pulsate the lighting? The light is never on steady. Always blinking/pulsing.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: My light does not pulsate. It is steady.
Answer: No it’s supposed to stay on continuously, I sent mine back and they repaired it and got it back to me quickly.
Answer: No are you using with motor running. If so check you charging system. Is it points or a magneto.
Answer: No you must have a loose connection or a defective
Q:
Can this light be used out of water?
Answer: I have used mine out of water but not for long periods of time. They are also a little to bright to use out of water. Mine lit up our whole house during a power outage.
Answer: Yes, but radiates better light in the water since it's by no means a beam light.
Q:
Can I use 2-3 of these strung together with 12 V splitter?
Answer: Yes
Q:
How well does this attract fish ?
Answer: The few times I have used it. It really attracts the smaller ones well, but just a matter of time when the bigger ones come around. After I got it and used a couple of timed, I haven't been able to get out on the water. So just a couple of experiences but does attract fish... stripped bass is what we were after.....
Answer: Works very well, brings bait fish right to your boat. These lights draw in bait fish and the other fish follow the bait. I love the 3 I have, 2 green and a white, I don't run 3 at a time though. Hope this helps.
Answer: seems to attract plankton and pan fish only problem is it also attracts larger predator fish who chase of the pan fish
Q:
Can I use the cigarette input instead of the battery leads to work with a dbpower jump pack to power the light?
Answer: Yes with a cigarette lighter adapter instead of the battery terminal adapter
Answer: Yes you can if you hook up the leads to the correct cigarette adapter.
Q:
Does it have a power source to plug in 12V cigaraette lighter or only the only what is shown. Thanks
Answer: Just cut that cigeratte plug off, wire on your spade bit's and attach to a 12v SLD battery/ I wired mine to a water proof toggle switch I installed on my Kayak for saltwater fishing.
Answer: Yes it does, direct plug into cigarette lighter and adapter for battery connection
Answer: It has both as is shown & I love it!!!
Q:
Is there a reason it just quits working? Got it 2 weeks ago and it lit up find and i unplugged it afyer a few seconds. But now it won't light up at al
Answer: Probably defective? Lol
Q:
Can I use this for bully netting lobster?
Q:
Where is this made?
Answer: In a factory down town
Q:
How long is the cord ?
Answer: Pretty long, I’d say 15-20 feet, just off the top of my head.
Q:
Are these rechargeable or they have to be pluged in at all times
Answer: This light has to be connected to a power source (12-24vdc) to operate. It does not have an internal battery.
Answer: They have to be plugged into a 12v car battery to work. No off/on switch & no built in battery. These are great lights!!!
Q:
My light blinks. Is it supposed to?
Answer: No. Mine does not blink.
Q:
how long is this fishing lure?
Answer: Hello, dear Kat Harmeyer,
Answer: Hello, dear Kat Harmeyer,
Answer: The light is 7" long and the cord is 20'
Answer: The light it's self is about 6 or 7 inches long and the cord is approximately 15 feet long.
Q:
WHy does the one i recieved Flashes after a few minutes. i tried a 7amp batt, a deepcycle batt, i check the Amp draw it is .625a. ?
Answer: Sounds like you got a bad one. I have several and they don’t flash and don’t draw much current. I’d return it for another
Answer: Sounds like a short somewhere
Q:
Will it work with a 3s lipo battery?
Answer: I’m not familiar with that type of battery,so I’m can’t answer that question
Answer: As long at it produces a 12v it should be fine. Due note when its less than 12v the light dims.
Q:
How long should it last on a 12v car battery
Answer: I have fished for several hours and never had to worry about the battery. So not sure how long but I would say that it would last all night.
Q:
How deep can it go under water
Answer: I use mine down to a depth of 12ft
Q:
How long is the cord
Answer: It’s long i don’t know the exact measurements
Answer: 10 to 15 ft
Q:
What is the warranty?
Q:
Can i use my 18v power tool batteries?
Answer: I would imagine you can I either put it on to my boat battery or I just cut the wire off a volt DC transformer the plug-in , It also comes complete with a cigarette lighter type connection it is a very good product works very well for the money
Q:
I assume it is safe to power these from the 24 volt trolling motor system?
Answer: I believe this light was designed to run on either the 12 volt starting and accessory battery or a 24 volt trolling motor battery set.
Answer: Yes works just fine we normally run 4 at a time
Q:
Is there a reason why it just wont turn on? I turned it one once no problem but now it wont light up
Answer: Two things: 1. Check the connection with the plug. I'm not a big fan of these plugs and they go bad and sometimes were never good. 2. Check your battery. If the battery is bad, such as a dead cell, the voltage will not be 12v and the light will not come on. Learned this lesson the hard way. No lights, no trolling motor. Long paddle back in the wind and dark.
Answer: You may have to return it.
Q:
Will the Berkely 2.4 amp battery pack work for this
Answer: was dissatisfied with the product there was not enough lite to attrack fish

Bobby A Marcum Jr : Four Stars
arrived and works as expected
ashtim1514 : Well worth it
I bought a pair of these lights convinced they were going to be a novelty purchase....and tossed. I didnt fish with them but I packed them on a house boat trip to Lake Shelbyville. Super high winds and previois rains had the water murky at best with minimal viability. I bought a water proof inverter and wired them together and dropped them off the side just below the surface. I cant complain. There was an enormous amouny of baitfish at the surface immediately and like a frat boy keg party, stragglers kept coming all night. Lights never got hot or failed after about 5 hours. They feel sturdy and water tight. Will definitely get a couple more. Well worth the cost. Just know you'll need to come up with a method to suspend them either off the side or extended out with extension pole like a paint handle.
Kaleb : Short cord but it works. Good quality.
Very good quality but only useful in areas without sea weed. It can be useful in areas with sea weed but it is much dimmer because of obvious reasons such as the light being blocked by the weeds. The cord isn't extremely long either so you can't get it too far from the boat or shore. However it does attract small fish which tend to attract larger fish which makes it nice to use.
Dennis W. Peppers : Just what I needed! Very Bright!
I wanted a light for my pressure washing tank. The wire is about 8-10' long so no issues connect it to my battery. Super bright and looks cool when I'm working at night!
Robert Arnold : Very Bright
Very bright, perfect replacement of my old Berkley florescent fishing light. Manufacturer states do not operate unless it's submerged in water. Not sure why, maybe it gets hot?
Random guy : Super bright
Awesome lights. I purchased 2 for the boat for night fishing in salt water. Just ordered another set for fishing on the rocks and hook up to battery pack. Once dropped in the water the anchovies came up in swarms. About 1 hr later the sea bass , calico bass, mackerel, and crabs came to the light for hours...
Update 10/04/17
Picked up another 2 total of 4 now all great. I should be getting a discount by now on how many purchased lol. On my last two i added about 40ft of wire to them so they can go deeper and further. I have been using them off the rocks with a battery pack....I did break one by impact...No fault of the light but was able to fix it.
Daniel martel : Worth the price
Very bright an easy to use. Awesome
Kristen : Works great
Great light! Super bright and works really well. Almost instantly started drawing the fish in.
Steve-O : Nice light, but has a couple of issues
Disclaimer: I'm using this for ice fishing, so your results may vary.
Overall, I'm fairly impressed with the light. It's very bright, seems well-constructed, and seems like it should be relatively durable.
Pros:
- Very bright and pretty cheap. - Draws very little current, which is a huge plus.
Cons:
-The cord is STIFF. I think it's around 5 meters, but it's impossible to get all the coils out of the cord, so it's probably more like 3-4m when deployed. I imagine some of this is due to the temps I'm using it in, but I'm not sure.
- Does not cast any light directly below the body of the light. That is, the lights are only around the circumference of the light body, with none on the bottom. This causes the light to cast a very large shadow directly below it.
Beme : Bright light. Powered by Dewalt 18v battery.
I used a Dewalt 18v battery to power the light which was still working fine after two hours submerged. Very bright light that seems well made and attracted squid successfully. Way easier than using a generator and big halogen lights.
Works2much : It works!
I truly believe it attracts panfish at night. Word to the wise... DO NOT HOLD IT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES AND POWER IT UP IN TOTAL DARKNESS TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. It took me a long time to write this review because I was dumb enough to do that and at the time I thought I had just witnessed an atomic bomb exploding. :)
Amazon Customer : Blinked on and off like a strobe light
Did not work as described . Blinked on and off like a strobe light . I sent back for a refund !!!
John McKinley : Nice and bright
Purchased two of these lights. One blinks, not sure why. Might be returning the blinking one. It's a bit obnoxious. Nice and bright. Low battery draw. Like the price and compact size. The lighter plug adapter is a bit flimsy.
Stan S. : Bright well made
Bright well made for the price ! Like it ! Use it off dock and also off boat.
David p : Really works
I converted mine from 12v dc to 120v ac to allow for plugging in inside a boathouse and from a dock. After 3 days of testing I can say that this product does bring in the baitfish, which brings in larger game fish. Another thing I found is that by leaving the light on during the night time hours, it keeps the larger game fish in the area. On the boat dock during daylight hours the fishing improved. I am going purchase another light with higher lumens, I purchased the 1000 lumens model, have a boat house that during the night time hours there has never been a fish caught. Yes, This is a good product. My order was prompt and efficiently handled. It arrived in a timely manner with no problems on my end. It works great. It is a good value for the reasonable price I paid. I would highly recommend this product
Kaleb M. : Bright
I hang this off the side of a boat for crappie fishing. It is very bright and works very well.
Roy C. : Good
Works.great just wish it was alittle brighter
2007Harleyman : Fish light
Works well but not bright enough to go very far under the water
Preston : Little light BIG package love it
The picture can't describe it but my camera keeps wanting to dim it down this little light is so bright and I'm taking the picture in daylight. I have to squint my eyes LOL to look at it. And you can hook it up 2 different ways. I like it can't wait to use it.
Jack A. : Doesn't leak
Works good
M.Taylor : Buy this
far better quality than I was expecting. used it many times so far no water intrusion at all. also has hardly any drain on the voltage system of my boat.
Benny B. : Salt life
Use it everytime we go fishing at night. Very bright and well built
Random guy : Super bright

Arturo Trevino : Good quality product.
Good quality product.
james : catch big fish all night at the docks
Ive had these lights under water running nonstop from 8/2019-3/2020 thru a Maryland winter. not one bulb went out so far. super bright and low power drain.summer months at night my boat is a feeding frenzy.
wade bozeman : draws the fish in
Every time i drop this light in it draws the bait fish in within an hour. They start to circle it like a huge bait ball and you see larger fish rush through after them.
David p : Really works

Creighton Chang : Green LED Fishing light.
Good light. It's very bright and works well to attract fish.
M. Hoiten : Good
So far so good just wish it floats a little better. It sinks but it still works great
jbkaner : worked terrific, it certainly didn't cast as much light as ...
This light for the price pt. worked terrific, it certainly didn't cast as much light as some other high priced lights but certainly did the job
Melody : Just a bright bulb that is annoying!
Waste of money! All you see is the bright bulb. Hardly any green surround is displayed. My friends bought a different brand from Home Depot that is amazing!
Daniel martel : Worth the price
Very bright an easy to use. Awesome
Thumbs down : Nice light
I received mine last night and had to try it out, I did a test at 5,10,15,20,25,30ft, this is threw the ice, from 5 to about 18ft it lite it up real well, I’m saying about 15,20ft radious, after 20ft it got little fant but you could still see pretty good, within 25 min we had bait fish then had the crappie and walleyes, so all and all it is a great product and will buy a couple more for summer
Kaleb M. : Bright
I hang this off the side of a boat for crappie fishing. It is very bright and works very well.
Stiff neck gal : Nice to have
I wish it would work when you get more than 100 feet away. Put it on outlet for overhead light in boathouse.
Benny B. : Salt life
Use it everytime we go fishing at night. Very bright and well built
Steve : Good solid product, bright enough to attract the bait fish to the side of my boat in murky waters
Great Light Great Low Price from this vendor. Fish love it every time and it seems to keep them around whereas other light colors spook the fish after a while
dannyboyinaz : Amarine-made Green 12v - 24v 8W 180 LED 1000 Lumen Light
I would have probably given this one a 5 star rating if I would have caught some fish while using it, but no such luck. The "concept" of this item is very good and that is why I ordered it. I have only used it once, so I will have to use it many more times. It is very bright!
summerj : Five Stars
The light isnt real big but it is very bright! i will be buying another one soon!
Amazon Customer : Nice little lights
Seems to be working well. We will see on durability in a few months
Dennis W. Peppers : Just what I needed! Very Bright!
I wanted a light for my pressure washing tank. The wire is about 8-10' long so no issues connect it to my battery. Super bright and looks cool when I'm working at night!
John McKinley : Nice and bright
Purchased two of these lights. One blinks, not sure why. Might be returning the blinking one. It's a bit obnoxious. Nice and bright. Low battery draw. Like the price and compact size. The lighter plug adapter is a bit flimsy.
