What size hook is recommended for use with the Fire Bait?

Answer: This bait is for trout fishing so you can use any trout hooks you would normally use.

Does this product float

Answer: Pautzke Fire Balls are designed to fish like natural bait. Natural bait does not float therefore Fire Balls sink naturally like real eggs do in a stream or river system. if you are fishing them in a lake or reservoir it is best to fish them under a bobber or they will sink to the bottom and away from where the trout bite.

Answer: Yes. It will also float with the weight of a small hook in it.

Can this bait be used for catching other fishes besides trout?

Answer: Similar fresh water fish.

This bait works well , caught bass and artic charr so far. I find it is best tied in spawn sack material, stays on the hook way better.

Exactly as found in stores for cheaper. Absolutely the best bait for trout a person can buy. I carry 4 hard in my box at all times. World better at attracting fish, smells stronger, floats better and sticks to a hook a million times better than PowerBait. Can't go wrong.

To be honest I need to give this bait more time to prove itself but I have caught 4 fish for about half of the container of bait. I have found that it dissolves pretty quickly but since it is scented I suppose that is to be expected. Maybe the fish in the creek I fish in don't like garlic flavor?
