Answer: don't know not on unit but it works good 1D battery

Does the american maple ac-710 have an o-ring seal around the battery compartment?

Answer: Not sure, but not much. The unit worked well at first, but stopped after about 10 uses within 1 year. Not sure why, maybe something I did, but it was ok while it lasted

This thing is ridiculously loud. I didn't think it would be an issue before I bought it, but it's embarrassingly loud. I was using it on a pier and it was obnoxious to everybody nearby.

This aerator showed up just as displayed in ad. I ran it for 3 days to keep some minnows alive to stock a pond that I built. Ran like a champ!. For the money, this was a good buy to me and it supplied more O2 than the fish needed.

It's quiet, and I like the two speed feature. Haven't used it much yet, so I can't say about longevity. But it seems well made, a sturdy case that won't break the first time you drop it on the cement driveway (already tested that by accident). And it has a rubber gasketed battery compartment, so it's at least water resistant.
